Since there is no canopy (roof), you get wide-open, unobstructed views,

but it does mean operations are weather-dependent.

2️⃣ Wonder Cruise

The Wonder Cruise offers commentary conducted in English or Korean as well.

While it has a roof which might slightly block your overhead view,

it has the advantage of running even on rainy days!

2. How to Book

Buying your Dotonbori Cruise tickets online in advance is cheaper

than purchasing them on-site!

1️⃣ River Cruise

For the River Cruise, advance online reservations for specific times are not available—only same-day, on-site booking is possible.

The ticket booth opens at 10:00 AM, so getting there early is key!

Since tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, popular timeslots can sell out quickly.

You can purchase a voucher online at a discount beforehand,

and then exchange it for your desired timeslot at the booth!

depending on the time of day!

4. My Dotonbori River Cruise Review

Since we couldn't book the Wonder Cruise in advance,

we went to secure same-day on-site tickets for the Dotonbori River Cruise!

The ticket booth opens at 10:00 AM.

We arrived around 12:00 PM

and were still easily able to book our preferred 7:00 PM slot!

On-site ticket prices:

• Adults: 2,000 yen, Students: 1,000 yen, Children (ages 6–12): 500 yen

(Children under 5 ride free if sitting on an adult's lap—limited to one child per adult)

Tickets are cheaper online, so

booking online in advance is highly recommended!

After finishing up our day at Osaka Castle and the Umeda Sky Garden,

we arrived about 15 minutes earlier than our scheduled 7:00 PM slot.

The boarding location is right in front of the Don Quijote Dotonbori store,

so it was incredibly easy to find!

As we waited to board,

we watched cruise boats from various companies gliding down the river!

The Dotonbori River Cruise we boarded today

had no canopy, offering a completely open, unobstructed view—

it was absolutely perfect on a clear night!

At night, the city lights reflected beautifully on the Dotonbori River, making it look even more stunning! 🌃

I instantly realized why everyone recommends

taking this cruise after the sun goes down!

Drifting right into the heart of the beautiful Dotonbori nightscape on a river cruise... ✨

The guide shared some really interesting stories about Dotonbori,

but since it was in Japanese, I couldn't understand most of it!

I did catch a few words of English here and there, though.

the boat paused so we could take photos.
