Da Nang Itinerary: 5 Best Places to Visit in 2026
Thinking of visiting Vietnam? From the golden hands of Ba Na Hills to the serene sands of My Khe Beach, here are the top 5 spots in Da Nang you can't miss.
Da Nang, Vietnam has quickly become one of Southeast Asia's most popular coastal getaways. With its perfect blend of budget-friendly prices, warm hospitality, and incredible street food, it's the ultimate destination for an unforgettable vacation. It's no wonder travelers from all over the world are flocking to this tropical paradise!
To help you plan, I've put together a curated list of the top 5 must-visit spots in Da Nang. While I traveled here solo, these are the exact locations that made me think, 'I need to bring my friends and family here next time.'
Ba Na Hills

If there's one attraction that defines modern Da Nang, it's definitely Sun World Ba Na Hills.

I went in without doing much research and was absolutely blown away by how massive this place is. If you're expecting to just snap a quick photo at the famous Golden Bridge, ride a short cable car, and head back, you're in for a surprise! It took me about 7 hours to explore the area, and the cable car ride alone can take 40 to 60 minutes when you factor in the queues.

There are endless indoor and outdoor attractions, including a replica French Village and an indoor fantasy park. To see absolutely everything, you'd almost need two full days. Walking around all day can be physically demanding, especially in the afternoon heat. Be sure to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunblock, and plenty of water to stay hydrated!

Da Nang Cathedral (The Pink Cathedral)

Located right in the heart of downtown Da Nang, near the bustling Han Market, is the iconic Da Nang Cathedral—affectionately known as the Pink Cathedral. You'll always find a lively crowd of travelers snapping photos in front of its pastel-pink facade.

Since it's an active place of worship rather than a commercial tourist site, there aren't shops or food stalls here. Most visitors spend about 10 to 20 minutes taking photos and admiring the architecture. It can get very busy and closes in the middle of the day, so visiting early in the morning is the best way to beat the crowds.

Han Market

The third must-visit spot on any Da Nang itinerary is Han Market. Some travelers find bargaining here a bit intimidating or feel the quality of goods can be hit-or-miss.
But if something doesn't catch your eye, there's absolutely no pressure to buy! Just wandering through the narrow aisles and taking in the vibrant local atmosphere is an experience in itself.

The vendors aren't overly aggressive, making it easy to browse at your own pace. However, the indoor market can get incredibly warm and packed shoulder-to-shoulder in the afternoon. To make your shopping experience much more comfortable, I highly recommend visiting early in the morning.

I picked up some delicious mango jellies and local coffee to bring home, and they were a huge hit. I also grabbed some travel-sized toothpaste that came in handy. It's a great spot to soak in the local hustle and bustle. If you prefer a modern, air-conditioned shopping environment, head over to the local Lotte Mart instead.

Hoi An Night Market

Limiting your trip to just downtown Da Nang would be a missed opportunity. Hoi An is just a short taxi ride away (about 18 miles) and makes for a perfect day trip.
If your travel schedule allows, I highly recommend staying at least one night in Hoi An so you can fully experience the magical night market.

During my 3-day stay in Hoi An, I found myself wandering the night market every single evening. It's the perfect place to pick up unique souvenirs, and the local cafes and restaurants are incredibly welcoming. Don't forget to take a ride on a traditional wish boat to release a floating lantern and make a wish on the river.

Travel Tips | If you don't want to ride the boat, you can purchase a floating candle separately for ~$0.20 ~ ~$0.40 (5,000 ~ 10,000 VND) |
My Khe Beach

Our final stop is the stunning My Khe Beach. Known for its soft white sands and warm waters, it's a favorite spot for sunbathing and swimming. If your resort is nearby, you can easily walk down in your swimwear for a morning dip. Even if you're not swimming, it's a beautiful place for a sunset stroll before heading to one of the nearby beachfront restaurants.

My Khe Beach is lined with vibrant open-air seafood restaurants. To guarantee a great meal, I recommend checking Google Maps or TripAdvisor reviews beforehand. While dining right on the beach is slightly more expensive than eating further inland, it's still incredibly affordable compared to Western prices. You can enjoy a massive, fresh seafood feast without breaking the bank!
