Linh Ung Pagoda is nestled on the Son Tra Peninsula, about a 15-20 minute drive from Da Nang city center. Its convenient location makes it an easy addition to any itinerary.

We opted for a Grab taxi to get there. The entire visit typically takes about 30 minutes, so we recommend asking your driver to wait. This way, you won't have to worry about finding another Grab for your return trip to the city!

A round-trip taxi fare usually costs around ~$6.

One of the best things about Linh Ung Pagoda is that there's no admission fee, making it a fantastic budget-friendly option. Even with many visitors, the expansive grounds rarely feel overcrowded, allowing for a peaceful and enjoyable experience.

From the pagoda's steps, you're treated to breathtaking panoramic views of My Khe Beach!

While often referred to as Linh Ung Pagoda, it's worth noting that 'Linh Ung' is a broader term encompassing three distinct pagodas in the Da Nang area. Beyond the one on Son Tra Peninsula, there's another within the Marble Mountains and a third at the Ba Na Hills theme park.

Each offers a unique atmosphere and experience, so if your itinerary allows, we highly recommend visiting all three for a comprehensive spiritual and cultural journey!

The Majestic Lady Buddha Statue

The iconic Lady Buddha statue here stands at a staggering height of 67 meters, making it the tallest statue in Vietnam. Known as the 'Goddess of Mercy of the Sea,' she symbolizes protection against maritime disasters and offers prayers for the safety of fishermen.

Facing the sea with her back to the mountains, the Lady Buddha holds profound symbolic meaning: she watches over and protects the citizens of Da Nang and its fishermen from natural disasters originating from the ocean, fostering peace and tranquility.

You might encounter them within the pagoda grounds or along the winding mountain roads leading up to the temple.

While generally calm, these wild animals are quick! Be cautious if you're carrying food, as they might snatch it in an instant. The same goes for shiny objects like jewelry or sunglasses – they're quite curious!

As with any wild animal, it's best to maintain a safe distance and observe them from afar rather than attempting to touch or approach too closely.

While some lucky visitors might spot gentle baby monkeys accepting food, during our visit, most were traveling in groups or perched high in the trees. Even from a distance, their playful antics were incredibly charming!

We initially came to see the magnificent Lady Buddha, but the serene atmosphere, stunning ocean views, and delightful encounters with wild monkeys made the visit so much more rewarding.

Despite being free to enter, the pagoda is surprisingly vast and offers a tranquil escape. We highly recommend dedicating a few hours to explore Linh Ung Pagoda during your 2026 Da Nang trip!
