Da Nang & Hoi An 4-Day Itinerary 2026: Costs & Quick Guide

My recent trip to Da Nang!
It was a spontaneous family trip with my sister and mom,
and we left without much planning, but I think we still managed to have a pretty jam-packed 3-night, 4-day itinerary!
So I wanted to share it with all of you. 😊
It was a pretty straightforward itinerary, with two nights in Da Nang and one night in Hoi An,
so while it wasn't a super long trip, since I was traveling with my mom,
I tried my best to keep things relaxed!
First off, for our flights, we flew with Vietjet Air.
Our departure flight was VJ881 at 6:15 AM,
and our return flight was VJ874 at 3:30 PM.
I'd heard that Vietjet Air is known for frequent delays,
but their timings allowed us to make the most of our days,
and the price was more affordable compared to Vietnam Airlines or Jeju Air, which is why we chose them.
The round-trip flight price to Da Nang, Vietnam, was in the early ~$138 range per person,
and we were able to book for three people for just over ~$414.
Since it was an early morning flight, we took a call van to Incheon Airport,
and after arriving at the airport and checking in right away,
we picked up our pre-ordered duty-free items and waited to board.

Thankfully, we departed without any delays,
and arrived around our scheduled time of 8:55 AM.
As soon as we landed, we picked up the SIM card we had pre-ordered through Klook.
I really debated whether to bring a pocket WiFi or use a local SIM card,
but I ended up choosing a SIM card because it's easy for individuals to use
and super convenient.
The SIM card I picked had a 30-day validity period,
offered 5GB of 4G data,
100 minutes of domestic voice calls between VinaPhone users,
and 20 minutes of domestic voice calls to non-VinaPhone users.
Both pocket WiFi and SIM cards have their pros and cons,
so it's best to choose whatever suits you!
Right next to it, we exchanged currency at the money changer.
I had already exchanged $800 in Korea beforehand,
and since I'd heard they wouldn't exchange damaged or torn dollar bills,
I made sure to prepare clean bills.
At the airport, we were able to exchange $100 for 2,285,000 VND.
Next, we used Grab, which I had pre-installed, to head to Lotte Mart.
After storing our luggage, we headed straight to Cho Viet for a late breakfast/early lunch!
Luggage storage was free, and the Grab ride from Da Nang Airport to Lotte Mart, including the airport fee, cost 80,000 VND.
Upon arriving at Cho Viet, we ordered Banh Xeo, Morning Glory, Bun Cha, and fried rice.
The Banh Xeo was absolutely delicious! Seriously, SO good. 😋
The Morning Glory was just okay, though.
Oh, and the Bun Cha was tasty too!
Right next door, we went to Han Market and bought an Ao Dai for my mom!
You can get Ao Dai custom-made or buy ready-made ones there,
and honestly, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two.
Since so many Koreans visit, most of the vendors can speak Korean,
and you can bargain, bargain, and bargain some more from their initial asking price!
But honestly, we ended up just buying most things at Han Market without much haggling.
Prices are already so low, so even if you don't bargain... it's fine. 😉
Since I paid 280,000 VND for the Ao Dai, I think it was around ~$10!
There were so many Koreans that people were telling each other how much custom tailoring cost here
and giving tips about this place and that. Haha.
And then I went to Cong Caphe, which I'd been looking forward to...
I ordered a Sua Da (Vietnamese iced coffee), coconut coffee, and lime juice.
The lime juice was really, truly limey, so it was incredibly sour,
and neither the Sua Da nor the coconut coffee were really my style ㅠ_ㅠ
On the first day of my Da Nang trip, it rained like crazy,
so I figured it would be impossible to sightsee and walk around.
After a quick grocery run at Lotte Mart, we decided to head back to our Airbnb.

Vietnamese ramen and Laughing Cow cream cheese are absolute must-haves! Haha.
Oh, and a heads-up: cheese needs to be paid for separately!
After heading back to the Airbnb to rest for a bit,
we went out for dinner!

For dinner, we went to Phuoc Thai, packed with seafood :)
We ordered 1kg of tiger prawns, 500g of grilled scallops, and egg fried rice,
and personally, those grilled scallops were absolutely divine. So incredibly delicious!
I totally recommend Phuoc Thai..
Where else are the best Da Nang restaurants? ㅠㅠㅠㅠ So good!
And to shake off the fatigue from the first day,
we visited Delpino Spa, which we had booked in advance.
Since massage is considered a fundamental and essential part of a Da Nang trip,
we made sure to get one massage a day.
It was also a must-do since I was traveling with my mom, haha.
Then, we exchanged money again near our Airbnb accommodation,
calculated how much we had spent that day,
and made sure we had enough for the next day.
Vietnamese Dong only comes in banknotes, without coins,
and because the denominations are large, it's easy to get confused.
It's important to get into the habit of double-checking..!
To explain it simply:
50,000 VND is roughly equivalent to ~$2,
so you can calculate it by removing one zero and dividing by two.
And so, for our second day's itinerary, we chose Marble Mountains.
Ba Na Hills is usually a must-visit on any Da Nang trip,
but we visited during the rainy season,
and because we were worried about rain and aren't super interested in amusement park rides,
we opted for Marble Mountains instead of Ba Na Hills.
Marble Mountains opens at 7 AM, so we arrived around 8 AM,
allowing us to explore at a leisurely pace.
Next up, we headed straight to Da Nang Cathedral!
Actually, the Pink Cathedral was supposed to be on our first day's itinerary,
but it rained too much, so we postponed it...
Anyway, the weather was absolutely gorgeous from the second day onwards,
making our travels completely hassle-free.
And we even snapped some photos of the Dragon Bridge from afar, haha!
We were planning to go to a famous pho spot, but ended up at a banh mi shop right next door.
The price was a bit higher compared to street banh mi,
but it was incredibly packed with ingredients, so we were really satisfied!
Then we popped into a Da Nang Starbucks to grab a city mug,
and also picked up a pumpkin cup from their Halloween merchandise.
I bought it because it's not available in Korea, and it's adorable every time I see it! ㅠㅠ
After that, we headed to L-Store to buy gifts for friends and family,
but unfortunately, they were all out of Noni pills that day ㅠㅠ, so I couldn't get them.
I only managed to buy Noni powder.
The prices aren't exactly cheap, but for gifts,
the packaging is much prettier compared to what's sold at Lotte Mart, so...
I think these are a better option.
We indulged in a massage at Pink Spa, then went up to the 7th-floor cafe to snap some amazing 'life shots' (Instagrammable photos)!
You absolutely *have* to try the mango smoothie at Pink Cafe...
The mango just keeps coming and coming, and it's only ~$2 (70,000 VND)!
Plus, if you get a spa treatment, you can even get a discount there... 😉
After the spa, we headed back to Han Market to buy magnets and more gifts,
and also picked up some fruit.
Han Market mangoes are better than Lotte Mart mangoes,
and Sơn Trà Night Market mangoes are even better than Han Market ones...
We returned to our accommodation for a quick rest, then just went to check out My Khe Beach.
The weather was definitely good, but strangely, only My Khe Beach looked so cloudy.
And because my sibling kept wanting pizza -_-
we went to Pizza 4P's. It's a place where you usually need to make reservations in advance,
but when we asked if we could dine until 7:10 PM, they said 'yes' and seated us!
Hahahahahahaha!
At Son Tra Night Market, I saw lobsters bigger than my fist, but they were so huge they almost freaked me out ㅠㅠㅠ
I also bought and ate some mangoes. They're usually for mango juice, but I just ate them plain like that.
Absolutely divine!
And then I went back to Lotte Mart to buy some souvenirs and snacks.
Looking at Da Nang shopping lists, everything seemed pretty much the same everywhere.
And it's understandable, there wasn't really anything that made me go "Wow! This is it!"
It was a bit disappointing that I couldn't bring back any ramen due to restrictions from African Swine Fever,
but when I went to a GS25 convenience store, they were selling Vietnamese ramen!
Although the price was ~\$1, which was annoying ^^
And for breakfast on our last day in Da Nang, we went to a local street food stall right in front of our place.
We had pho, and it was the most delicious pho I had in all of Da Nang!

Right next door, we went to a local cafe and had some Ca Phe Sua Da and coconut coffee.
Cong Cafe, what's the deal...? lol
This place was so much tastier and way cheaper!
We paid ~\$1 for two coffees ^^
And on the way back to our place, we even grabbed a street banh mi ㅋㅋ
Honestly though, the one I had at the banh mi specialty shop (?) the day before was tastier.
Probably because the fillings were a bit sparse.
After checking out of our Airbnb, we immediately headed to Hoi An!
We went to Soul Kitchen, a place I absolutely wanted to visit.
And as expected, it was buzzing with people..
I wanted to sit in a nice spot, but all the pretty seats were taken.
Only that super sunny spot was left, so I just took some staged photos there.
The food wasn't like, "OMG, so delicious!"
but it's just pretty.... It's perfect for those who want that Instagram vibe ^^;
And that's totally me ^^;
Then, right in front, at An Bang Beach, I bought a swimming tube and headed straight to our accommodation.
I'm gonna swim at the resort!!!!!!!!
I really agonized over which accommodation to choose in Hoi An,
but finally decided on La Siesta!
They were definitely friendly, and having a shuttle bus made getting to and from the Old Town
quite convenient.
They even gave us a room upgrade, hehe!
With the heart-shaped tube I bought at An Bang Beach and the yellow tube I brought from home,
my mom, sister, and I swam our hearts out!
Tubes are the best!
The weather in Hoi An was also great, making it perfect for taking photos ㅠㅠ
It was a little disappointing that it rained only on the first day of our Da Nang trip,
but after that, it was all good!
And we rode a wishing boat. They called it a 'pretty boat,' but it really wasn't pretty at all.
They said we should ride now for the sunset, but we didn't get any sunset whatsoever.
I loved that motorbikes and cars couldn't enter the Old Town! But then the cyclos... they were quite the rascals, absolute rascals...
We went to a rooftop cafe and took a crazy amount of photos.
Hahahaha.
We grabbed Madam Khanh banh mi and wrapped up our first day in Hoi An.
Oh, and apparently you can exchange currency at Madam Khanh. We did it somewhere else though, T_T
We also had breakfast at La Siesta,
Finally, we even indulged in a spa session.
They said the hotel spa was exceptionally good, so we tried it...

(Our Da Nang accommodation was covered by Airbnb credits)
Including all other expenses like food, transportation, massages, SIM card, travel insurance, etc.,
it seems like it cost around ~$421 per person!
We ate what we wanted and spent what we needed without holding back at all,
so I think you could definitely travel for even less.
Since the cost of living in Vietnam is quite affordable,
it seems perfect for a family trip!
