Personally, I'm not the best at bargaining, and it can be quite tiring, so I tend to prefer fixed-price markets rather than feeling pressured to buy things. Plus, many items are replicas, which can feel a bit awkward to purchase openly.

This time, I'm excited to share a recommended list of items typically purchased at Han Market, along with their average prices. I'm jotting this down quickly before I forget!

Da Nang's Han Market is conveniently located just a 20-minute drive from Da Nang Airport. Nearby, you'll find the stunning Pink Church, making it a popular pairing with the market for a delightful exploration. With so many Korean visitors, the area around Han Market is bustling with fantastic restaurants and cafes, and you'll even find quite a few spots with air conditioning – a real blessing on a warm day!

Han Market operates from 6 AM to 7 PM. However, during the sunny afternoon hours, it can get incredibly crowded with tourists, and the hot weather might make exploring a bit challenging. For a more relaxed and enjoyable experience, I highly recommend visiting in the early morning or during the late morning. The first floor is dedicated to snacks and stationery, while the second floor boasts clothing and shoes, and you can comfortably browse everything in about an hour.

Han Market Shopping Recommended List

1. Colgate toothpaste! It's famous worldwide, and I even use it at home. However, the Colgate toothpaste sold at Han Market looks a little different in color.

2. My second recommendation is coffee! But seriously, there are so many types of coffee here, it's mind-boggling. G7 coffee is well-known, so many of you might already be familiar with it, but trying to buy and taste all the other kinds would be quite a feat! Most of them are also available at Lotte Mart, so for now, let's just browse and move on.

3. Mango jelly is another national favorite snack! Vendors often offer samples as you pass by, and while the taste is generally decent, beware of buying overly cheap, soft jellies (like My Gummy). You might end up with a disaster, as some can have a strong chemical smell. Both the regular and transparent liquid-type jellies were quite edible, though.

Regarding prices, you might hear advice to ask for the price and then bargain down more than 50% from the initial offer, but this isn't always true. Sometimes, you get a better discount when purchasing two or more items, and it's always a good idea to compare prices with other nearby stores to find the average.

Also, for hygiene reasons, it's best not to buy items that aren't individually packaged, especially like those shown in the photos.

Sometimes, you'll find stalls in slightly more secluded spots, away from the bustling and chaotic main entrance, where vendors are more willing to explain things clearly and speak honestly.

Many foreigners also enjoy shopping here. And just by looking, don't the vendors seem honest? (This is why I always end up being a soft touch!)

4. Have you ever heard of shrimp salt? This savory seasoning, often found in spice shakers, is fantastic for dishes like gambas, sandwiches, fried rice, and steamed eggs. A friend living in Vietnam gave it to me as a gift and suggested I try it with fruit, so I bravely sampled it with watermelon. What I got was an incredibly salty shrimp watermelon, which I promptly spit out in a second!

There are so many kinds of Vietnamese coffee that when I was asked to choose between Americano and instant mix, I immediately shouted "instant mix!" They then showed me this Luwak 3-in-1. Each pack contains 12 sachets, and the price per pack is 220,000 VND (about ~$9). A bit pricey, isn't it?

At stall #222, I inquired about a Stüssy t-shirt. It was a black t-shirt with a pretty convincing logo, so it didn't look fake at first glance. They initially quoted 350,000 VND. I compared it with another Stüssy t-shirt priced at 200,000 VND, and there was a clear difference in the logo stitching and the t-shirt material.

Curious to see how low they would go, I kept gesturing that I wasn't buying it and started to walk away. They then dropped the price to 250,000 VND. Alright, bye-bye!

There's nothing they don't have: clothes, shoes, bags, pants, you name it. Everyone is actively bargaining for their purchases.

Rattan baskets and rattan bags are also popular items.

A PraX bag for 160,000 VND! Unbelievable!

If all the bags here were authentic, the owner would surely be a landlord by now.

5. For Crocs, the price list is displayed uniformly at every store.

A basic pair is 130,000-150,000 VND, and Jibbitz charms are 70,000-80,000 VND. It was also clearly written to check the finishing, sole, and if they were mismatched. Sometimes, the Jibbitz charms don't fit the Crocs properly or are too big to insert correctly.

There are Nike running shoes and On Running shoes too, OMG! Even the top-tier line, the Vomero Premium... The official price is ~$207, but it would be different at Han Market, right? It's best to buy authentic running shoes.
