An Honest Review: Is Fast Track Worth It?

Every time I plan a trip to Vietnam, one question always pops up: should I get Fast Track? It's that classic dilemma – you splurge on it and find the immigration line is short, or you skip it and end up regretting it when faced with a huge crowd.

On my recent trip to Da Nang, I decided to try the Fast Track service for arrival only, and honestly? It was a game-changer! If you're currently weighing your options for Da Nang Fast Track, I'm here to share my top tips and recommendations. Keep reading for the full scoop :)

Should You Book Da Nang Fast Track?

Having just returned from Da Nang, I noticed the airport can get surprisingly busy, not just with visitors from Asia but also a significant number of Western tourists. This often leads to unexpected congestion.

Many international flights, especially those arriving in the evening, can contribute to these long lines. While earlier evening flights might see less overlap, the later it gets, the more crowded the immigration halls tend to become.

I arrived on Jeju Air flight 7C2211, and even though there were only about three other flights arriving around the same time, the immigration queue was substantial. The Fast Track truly saved the day, and I was incredibly satisfied with the smooth process.

Beyond avoiding crowds, I highly recommend Fast Track for anyone traveling with family, especially if you have young children or elderly parents. Waiting in those long, winding lines can be incredibly challenging and tiring for them. For a relatively low cost, it offers peace of mind and a much more comfortable start to your vacation.

Da Nang Fast Track Prices (2026)

Prices can vary slightly depending on where you book, but here's a general idea for 2026:

Typical Da Nang Arrival (Immigration): ~$7-9 USD

Typical Da Nang Departure (Immigration): ~$13-15 USD

Departure (Immigration + Security Check): ~$18-19 USD

If you're planning to use the Fast Track for departure, I highly recommend opting for the package that includes the security check. From my experience, the security lines tend to move much slower than the check-in lines, and waiting again after expedited processing can be quite frustrating.

For my departure, the entire process from check-in to security took about 40 minutes, which made me regret not booking the full departure package. Learn from my mistake! ^.^

My Da Nang Arrival Fast Track Experience

Da Nang typically enters its rainy season around September, and during my trip, despite my flight departing on time, we experienced about an hour's delay upon landing due to heavy rain. This unexpected delay made me appreciate the Fast Track even more!

While Da Nang Airport isn't massive, it can get crowded surprisingly quickly with just a few overlapping flights, especially with many group tours from across Asia. I still remember a past trip to Ho Chi Minh City where I skipped Fast Track and ended up waiting over an hour at immigration. Since then, I consider Fast Track for arrival a must-have – no one wants to start their vacation exhausted!

With Fast Track, dedicated staff members are waiting near the immigration counters. After a quick name verification, you're whisked straight to a special lane – it's incredibly convenient! Even though I was seated towards the back of the plane and wasn't among the first off, my immigration process was completed remarkably fast.

Typically, there are only about 3-4 regular immigration counters, but the Fast Track service has two dedicated lanes. This meant my wait time was barely 2 minutes, compared to the 20-30 people per line in the general queues.

*A quick note: I had pre-filled the Vietnam arrival declaration form, but in my case, they didn't actually check the QR code...?! So don't stress too much if yours isn't scanned.

You might hear people say that Fast Track is pointless because you still have to wait for your luggage. However, in my experience, some of our bags were already on the carousel when I arrived, and the rest came out quickly. Getting through immigration so fast meant I had time to use the restroom, grab my bags, and head out much more smoothly. It truly felt like a small investment for a huge convenience!

My friend was initially skeptical when I suggested it, asking "Is it really necessary?" But once we arrived and breezed through, they were totally convinced and happy we did it!

When traveling to Vietnam, I often debate whether to save a few dollars or opt for the Fast Track. Personally, I've never regretted booking the arrival Fast Track – it's always been worth it, and I highly recommend it!

If you're not a fan of waiting in long lines, treat yourself to the convenience and peace of mind for just a few dollars. It makes a big difference to start your Da Nang adventure stress-free!
