Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay Review 2026: Near Grand World & VinWonders
Experience luxury and convenience at Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay, a 5-star resort close to Grand World. Enjoy stunning pools, family-friendly amenities, and prime access to island adventures.
Phu Quoc, a long, slender island, is naturally divided into northern, central, and southern regions. For our recent 3-night, 5-day trip, we opted to stay in the northern part, specifically to immerse ourselves in the excitement of VinWonders and Vinpearl Safari, while also dedicating plenty of time to relaxing at our chosen Phu Quoc resort.

Our selection criteria for a Phu Quoc resort were straightforward: we wanted a fantastic pool for a truly indulgent 'ho-cance' (hotel vacation) experience, and direct access to the ocean. The Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay checked both boxes perfectly! Its prime location also meant easy access to Grand World for dining and delightful massage sessions.
Grand World: just a 5-minute drive
VinWonders: only 10 minutes away
Vinpearl Safari: a quick 15-minute drive

Premium 2 Double Bedroom
Up to 2 children under 12 stay free
As expected from a 5-star resort, our room was incredibly spacious. The policy allowing two children under 12 to stay free makes this Phu Quoc hotel an exceptional value for families of four!

We appreciated having a coffee machine in the room for our afternoon pick-me-ups. The resort even provides complimentary red flip-flops (one for him, one for her) which we happily wore around. And yes, the bathroom includes a lovely bathtub!

As you can see from the map, the resort is situated directly on the beachfront. Our room's terrace offered beautiful ocean views, complemented by a lovely adjacent forest vista. This spot became our favorite for enjoying lunch and snacks, complete with a comfy sofa and table – perfect for whiling away the hours.

The main pool is incredibly expansive, with an abundance of sunbeds and charming cabanas. It's truly a perfect Phu Quoc hotel swimming pool for travelers seeking ultimate relaxation.
★What truly impressed us was the water quality – it’s not stagnant but constantly flowing, keeping it exceptionally clean. I have sensitive skin and usually react to dirty pool water, but I had absolutely no issues here. If water quality is a concern for you, you can confidently choose this resort!

You can rent large tubes and life jackets for a fee. There's also a dedicated kids' pool, about 2 feet deep, complete with a fun slide – perfect for the little ones to play safely. Beyond swimming, we even tried out the archery facility!

Just beyond the pool area lies Bai Dai Beach. While it's not a private beach ideal for snorkeling, its vast expanse of sand and sea makes it perfect for swimming and soaking up the sun. We loved being able to easily switch between the pool and the ocean throughout the day.
With the dry season (typically November to April) just around the corner, Phu Quoc accommodations, including this resort, often offer great value. If you've already booked your flights for a late 2026 getaway, be sure to check availability soon before the peak season prices kick in!

Even with a fantastic resort, exploring local dining and indulging in massages are essential parts of the Southeast Asian travel experience! Luckily, Grand World, where you can do all this and more, is just a 5-minute drive away. The Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc resort offers a complimentary shuttle bus, or you can easily call a Grab. Often, there are buggies waiting in the hotel lobby, and we found taking one for about ~$2 to be a fun and convenient option. Some massage parlors even offer complimentary buggy pick-up from the hotel, which we used once for a relaxing massage and then dinner before heading back.

On our last morning before checkout, it rained, but the resort's excellent kids' room and game room (equipped with board games and Nintendo!) provided plenty of entertainment, making it easy to pass the time indoors.

As a 5-star Phu Quoc resort under the InterContinental Hotels Group, the breakfast was, as expected, absolutely superb. Just look at that bakery spread! You can order custom egg dishes like omelets and eggs benedict, and various coffees are brought directly to your table. With dedicated international cuisine corners alongside local Vietnamese dishes, the variety ensured we never got bored during our three-day stay.
While Northern Phu Quoc offers many hotel options, the Crowne Plaza stands out. It provides the perfect balance of peaceful seaside relaxation while being just a 5-minute drive from the lively Grand World. Its 5-star service and impeccable facilities truly set it apart.
Everyone who visits leaves satisfied, and it's particularly ideal for families with children. The quality and experience here are hard to match for the value. If you're planning a trip to Northern Phu Quoc in late 2026, keep in mind that the upcoming dry season is peak tourist time, so be sure to check for availability soon!
