Comfort Inn Nagoya Sakae Ekimae
Recommended Value-for-Money Accommodation in Japan
Making your travels smooth, this is Travel Lubricant.
If you're looking to explore various places in Nagoya,
the location of your accommodation as a base is crucial, right?
The locations I recommend are Nagoya Station and Sakae.
Among them, today I want to introduce a hotel with a great location for shopping, dining, and transportation:
a value-for-money accommodation in Nagoya's Sakae area for around ~$41,
the 'Comfort Inn Nagoya Sakae Ekimae'.
Location

✔ Address: 愛知県名古屋市中区錦3丁目13-30
✔ Available Lines: Higashiyama Line 🟡 / Meijo Line 🟣
The accommodation I'm introducing today has an absolutely fantastic location.
It's located right in front of Exit 2 after you get off at Sakae Station.

Not only major landmarks like Mirai Tower and Oasis 21,
but also Don Quijote and the Sakae downtown shopping malls are
all within easy walking distance.
In the evenings, there are so many izakayas nearby,
making it the perfect neighborhood to enjoy a drink even if you're alone, without any pressure.

If you head to the underground shopping arcade 'Sakaechika' right in front,
you can escape the heat even in mid-summer by shopping and moving through the air-conditioned underground.
Sakae Station Main Lines
Line | Main Destinations |
Higashiyama Line 🟡 | Nagoya, Kamejima |
Meijo Line 🟣 | Arabatacho, Nagoya Port, Kamimaezu |
Since both lines pass through,
it's easy to get anywhere in Nagoya city.

✔ There's a FamilyMart on the 1st floor of the hotel,
making it perfect for a convenience store haul!!

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in: 15:00 ~ Check-out: ~10:00 |
You can do check-in and check-out
at the 2nd-floor front desk.
As is common with most business hotels these days,
you can check in and out using the self-service kiosks.
If you find using the kiosk difficult,
the staff will be there to help you every step of the way, so no worries.

I'll mark the potentially confusing parts of the kiosk
in the photos above.
Please zoom in to take a closer look.

Single Room

✔ Room Type: Single Room (Specially designed for solo travelers)
✔ Features: Bed, Desk, TV, Air Conditioning, Bathroom
✔ Provided Amenities: Shampoo, Body Wash, Towels, Hairdryer
It's a cozy and well-organized setup,
typical of Japanese business hotels.

The bed was just the right size for one person,
and while it wasn't super soft, I slept comfortably.

Although the desk wasn't huge, it was convenient for enjoying convenience store meals
or getting some laptop work done.

The bathroom was compact but still had a bathtub,
and it was spotlessly maintained.

Also, disposable items like robes, lotion, and combs
are available on the 2nd floor for you to take freely.

📣 TMI
The deodorizer actually had a surprisingly nice scent,
so I ended up spraying it every day!

✔ Free Wi-Fi: Provided (details on room TV)
✔ Front Desk: Open 24/7
✔ Free Coffee & Drinks
✔ FamilyMart on the 1st floor
✔ Luggage Storage: Lockers, wire (self-service)

Since it's a budget-friendly hotel, breakfast isn't included,
but Nagoya has a fantastic morning coffee culture
where people enjoy bread and red bean paste with their coffee,
so I didn't mind the lack of breakfast at all.

Free coffee, drinks, and an ice/water dispenser,
along with a coin laundry and microwave, are all located on the 2nd floor.

On the 1st floor, you'll find a FamilyMart and
the famous Ine Bakery House,
known for its delicious bread.

It was so convenient to have self-service luggage storage.
You'll find **lockers** on the **2nd-floor front desk wall**!

and punch in your password – easy as that!
Just a heads-up, these lockers are perfect for carry-on sized luggage.
