Craving an unforgettable meal in Nagoya? Taichi Sakae in the vibrant Sakae district serves up the city's best hamburger steak, a true hidden gem for food lovers.
True to Nagoya's reputation as a city for foodies,
this trip has been all about eating!
And this time, I tried Hambak Steak (Japanese Salisbury Steak).
This place served the most delicious meal
I've had in Nagoya! A truly authentic gem!!
I'm already craving it again!
Location, Address: 3F Maruei Galleria, 3 Chome−3−1 Sakae, Naka Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 〒460-0008, Japan
Located inside Maruei Galleria,
about a 5-minute walk from Sakae Station Exit 8.
It's on the 3rd floor.

There's a Pantry supermarket on the 1st floor,
and I often came to browse Muji on the 2nd floor,
which is how I discovered this place.
On this 3rd floor, there's even a place selling Korean food.
They offer dishes like Samgyeopsal (pork belly) and Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes),
and it was interesting to see many Japanese people enjoying it!

There were also pizza and eel restaurants.

It had an open kitchen, which felt very spacious and welcoming.
Delicious aromas wafted through the air,
and I just loved the atmosphere.
Exterior

You can see rice sacks like those displayed, indicating that
they use rice from Gifu Prefecture, right next door,
to provide delicious pot-cooked rice.
Japanese rice is incredibly delicious,
and with such tender Hambak Steak,
I couldn't wait to sit down and dig in!

Just reading the description makes me incredibly excited!
Interior

The place was already full,
and there was quite a wait,
but luckily, we were able to sit separately at the bar seats.
If we had been a little later, we would have had to wait a long time!
Sitting at the bar, I got to watch the staff busily preparing food,
so the waiting time wasn't boring at all.

Almost everyone here was Japanese, except for us...
It's a popular spot even among locals,
and it was so full that we ended up sitting separately at the bar.
Menu

Originally, there was steak on the menu,
but it seemed unavailable just for today,
so we only tried the hamburg steak.

🎈 Hamburg Steak 160g (1,900 yen)
We tried the 240g (2,300 yen).

It looks like you can add cheese,
and avocado too.
There's a wide variety of drinks too.

Even the instructions on how to eat it are
detailed in Korean.

I wasn't usually a big fan of hamburg steak,
but this one was soft, delicious, and a generous portion.

Especially!!!
The pollack roe (mentaiko) came out, and it seemed to be mixed with sesame oil.
It was surprisingly delicious!
I already love mentaiko,
but my husband usually doesn't care for it,
and he said it was really tasty.
And...

Wow, freshly cooked rice
really hits different, doesn't it?
It was glossy, and the side dishes were substantial and all delicious.
We got seaweed salad and a radish kimchi-style sauce too.

They gave us a raw egg
to mix with the rice.

We also got grated yam!
Served with mustard and even shichimi!
It was honestly incredibly delicious!
Highly recommend! It was a hearty, satisfying meal with incredibly juicy meat.

The rice portion was generous too, and it's definitely a place I'd dream of revisiting!

Also, make sure to check out the supermarket called Pantry in the basement!
Their fresh squeezed juices, puddings, fruit milk, and bento boxes were super popular,
and of course, Yubari Melon!
That famous Hokkaido Melon!
The Yubari Melon kept calling my name...
