🚂 Chuncheon Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike 🚂​

For this wonderful weather,

I have a fantastic activity in Chuncheon to recommend!

It's none other than the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike!

Since autumn foliage season is just around the corner,

I think you'll enjoy it even more beautifully!🍁

I'll summarize everything from where to ride the Chuncheon Rail Bike to its

prices, discounts, course,

and even shuttle bus information.

01 Where to ride the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike

Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike

Korea's largest rail bike, running along the beautiful North Han River scenery

and through various themed tunnels.

The Chuncheon Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike departs from Gimyujeong Square,

which is located near Gimyujeong Station.

Since many people come by car, there's ample parking space,

and you can search for 'Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike' or

'Gangchon Rail Park Gimyujeong'.

With Gimyujeong Station on the Gyeongchun Line,

it's super easy for travelers on foot to access.

However, the ITX train does not stop here,

so you'll need to get off at Gangchon Station or Namchuncheon Station

and transfer to a regular subway (Gyeongchun Line).

For those using the Chuncheon Intercity Bus Terminal,

I recommend taking a taxi over a local bus to Gimyujeong Station (9 minutes, ~\$6).

02 Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike Times

Should you book in advance?

Tickets for the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike can be purchased

every hour from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM

(during the off-season, November to April, until 5:30 PM).

Departures are on a first-come, first-served basis,

so if you have a ticket for the first session (9:00),

you can arrive anytime between 9:00 and 10:00.

Unless it's the absolute peak season,

there might appear to be plenty of remaining tickets.

When I visited, I saw that there were

many groups and foreign tourists at the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike.

If you try to buy tickets on-site,

you might be unlucky and find your desired time slot sold out,

forcing you to wait an hour for the next one. ㅠㅠ

You get a 100% refund if you cancel up to 3 days before departure,

so if you're planning to visit the Chuncheon Rail Bike,

it's best to book in advance!

03 Chuncheon Rail Bike Discounts, Prices

The Chuncheon Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike is available in

2-seater and 4-seater options.

The price is not per person, but per bike!

There are also some discount benefits available!

For group discounts,

peak seasons (May, October) are excluded,

and even with a reservation, when issuing tickets,

supporting documents must be verified.

When making a regular reservation, not an on-site discount,

there's a separate link where you can get a

discount for the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike.

04 Chuncheon Rail Bike Course

The Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike starts

from the Kim Yu-jeong boarding platform and

covers approximately 6km by rail bike.

Wondering if the rail bike is tough?

My friends and I rode a 4-seater,

and it was perfectly fine! ^~^

Along the course, the themes changed frequently,

keeping things interesting and far from boring!

Personally, the Club Tunnel was the most fun!^^😆🎆

They say Pink Muhly grass is in full bloom in autumn,

so I think you'll get to see even more beautiful scenery then!💕

You can take a short break at the halfway rest stop,

then get off the rail bike and transfer to the

Romantic Train, where you don't even have to pedal! Haha.

Just so you know, the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike is a one-way course,

so once you arrive, you can take a free shuttle bus

back towards Kim Yu-jeong Station.

After arriving, we had Dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) at a nearby restaurant

and then slowly walked to Gangchon Station.

It takes about 20 minutes to walk to Gangchon Station,

and from there, you can hop on the ITX train straight to Seoul!

If you're looking for great places to visit in Chuncheon,

the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike was truly enjoyable!

The entire ride itself took about 1 hour,

but factoring in time for ticket exchange and waiting in line to board,

and then catching the shuttle bus afterward,

it's a good idea to set aside a generous 2 hours.

It seems the prices for the Ganggyeong and Gapyeong Rail Bikes at Gangchon Rail Park

are going up starting in October.

But the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike's price remains the same,

so it might be a great idea to visit before any potential increases!

If getting to Chuncheon by public transport feels a bit inconvenient,

you can also look for tours that combine multiple attractions like

Nami Island, Alpaca World, and the Garden of Morning Calm.

Q. Can babies ride the Chuncheon Rail Bike?

Children under 36 months are restricted from riding.

However, if riding is necessary,

after filling out a safety waiver at the ticket office,

they can ride along (proof of age required).

Q. Are pets allowed on the Kim Yu-jeong Rail Bike?

As a general rule, pets are not allowed.

However, if they are in a dedicated cage

that is fully enclosed on all four sides and placed on your lap,

they may be allowed after an on-site check.

Q. Does it operate even in the rain?

The Rail Bike operates even in rain or snow.

However, in cases of severe weather conditions,

operations may be suspended without prior notice.
