When you think of a trip to Ho Chi Minh City, a seafood hotspot is a must-visit! And a place called Chài Village, offering unlimited lobster – I was incredibly curious about it.

"Unlimited lobster for ~$21-28? Is that even possible?" I booked with a mix of disbelief and excitement... but let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing!

Today, I'm sharing everything you need to know from my personal visit to Chài Village: how to book, its location, and prices. Ready to dive in with me?

Chài Village Reservation Method

Reservations are essential. If you go without one, there's no telling how long you'll have to wait.

While a line of people waited in the lobby downstairs, we, having made a reservation, went straight up the elevator! 😄😄

You make reservations via Facebook Messenger.

I did mine in advance from Korea.

Just type 'Chài Village' into the Messenger app, and it'll pop up as a contact.

Chài Village's address and contact info will appear, and they'll first ask when you'd like to book.

Then, you just provide your desired date, time, and reservation name.

Once you get a confirmation reply, all that's left is to go! ~~~

Chài Village Location

I booked Chài Village for the day we did the Mekong Delta tour. Since we were tired from the tour, we decided to treat ourselves to a lavish and delicious dinner!

I asked our tour guide to drop us off near Ben Thanh Market. We needed to visit Ha Tam, a renowned money exchange spot, and Chài Village was only about a 10-minute walk from there.

Google Maps is super useful!

Just follow its directions~~

If it's further away, you can always use Grab~~

There's no sign on the outside of the building, so you might wonder 'Where is it?' when you arrive.

It's in the building with a Starbucks, and you just enter through the adjacent entrance.

I had a 5:30 PM reservation and was about 10 minutes late, but there was no issue at all.

Just tell them your reservation name, and they'll check it right away and put on a paper wristband like this.

It felt like entering an amusement park, haha!

Then you take the elevator up. This elevator only goes to Chài Village, apparently.

Since it's generally an open space and can get hot, I requested a table in an air-conditioned section.

Chài Village Entry

The scale of this place!! It's truly massive.

And yet, even with all this space, it's hard to get in without a reservation...

You'll soon find out why.

Our seats were a bit further in~

The photos of seafood on the way in

really stimulated my appetite. Suddenly so hungry..

They led us to the coolest spot they had,

and while I'm not sure if there was air conditioning,

I didn't feel overly hot.

On the flip side, we had to give up on the view~~

There are two menu options, and the 789,000 VND option

includes added dishes like conch and blue crab,

so we went with the 789,000 VND one.

The difference was only about ~$3,

so for such a small difference, we absolutely had to choose the option with more diverse seafood!

Unlimited Refill Lobster at Chai Village

The variety is absolutely incredible! Even with the same ingredients,

the cooking methods differ, so as you eat,

you won't even care if it's crab or lobster –

you'll just be too busy eating.

As you eat, the only word that comes to mind is 'delicious!'

I'm no food critic, but when it's both plentiful and delicious,

what more could you possibly ask for~~~

You just have to keep ordering! Unlimited refills usually mean a buffet,

but at Chai Village,

they cook everything fresh and bring it right to your table.

For dishes like steamed or grilled options that take a little time,

make sure to order them while you're already eating.

Lobster generously topped with cheese!!

It just melts in your mouth, seriously! 😉

Conch? Whelk? Anyway, the taste changes depending on the cooking method.

Personally, I found the plain grilled ones to be the most delicious. I ordered them multiple times.

They were so good~ You absolutely have to try them~

The oysters with cheese were just okay~

The grilled shrimp are truly savory and nutty.

It's a different flavor from our style of grilled shrimp, where we grill them on a bed of salt.

When they grill them, I wonder if they sprinkle spicy salt, because they're slightly spicy but absolutely delicious.

There are also smaller lobsters available,

which are perfect for a single bite.

These also come with various seasonings and cooking methods,

so you can enjoy them in many different ways.

Grilled sea urchin, a special treat found exclusively on the 789k menu.

You absolutely must try it~~

And beyond that, an amazing variety of seafood is ready for you!

We were literally studying the menu while eating,

then ordering more, repeating endlessly, haha. It really felt like we were

fully embracing the 'all-you-can-eat' spirit!~~

You're probably feeling envious just looking at these, right?

Chai Village is so incredibly spacious, yet

it's always packed — now I understand why!~

They also have morning glory (kongxinchai) and delicious clam soup,

so you can enjoy an even wider array of flavors.

On the left are the spring rolls that we ordered fresh,

and on the right, you see spring rolls from the self-serve bar

tucked away in a corner. Naturally, the ones made fresh right after ordering

are going to be so much more delicious, right? So, even if you see spring rolls at the self-serve bar,

my tip is to always order them separately!~

If you head over to the self-serve bar, you'll quickly realize that Koreans are among their main

clientele. How?

There are three kinds of kimchi available!~~

Eating with kimchi truly cuts through any richness, letting you

enjoy even more of everything! Haha. As for other menu items... don't bother filling up on the small stuff.

Save room! Lobster, crab,

and other amazing seafood are already enough to keep you busy!~

We wrapped things up with a bit of shabu-shabu~ but honestly, we only managed a taste.

Our stomachs were just too delightfully full to eat any more.

Don't forget the fruits in the self-serve bar's refrigerator too!

They had beautifully peeled sweet persimmons and refreshing Korean pears ready.

These are definitely fruits for Korean palates~

But whatever you do, make sure to try the dragon fruit and pomegranates!~

We noticed that the self-serve bar in the main hall had an even wider and more diverse selection

than the one closer to our seating area.

So, if you're hitting the self-serve bar, that's where you'll want to go!~

Chai Village boasts such a free-spirited and lively atmosphere~

After we devoured everything, we finally

had a chance to take in our surroundings~ And indeed, for ambiance,

the main hall is wonderful.

But if your goal is to truly concentrate on the incredible food, the inner hall is

There's an aquarium too, so take a quick peek before you leave~

Keep eating until you're literally walking out the door!!

✔️ Food can take a while to come out.

So keep ordering as you eat.

✔️ It's best to order plenty from the start.

Here's a special tip just for you~

✅️ Eating Hack

✔️ Bring wet wipes and disposable gloves.

Because you use your hands a lot with seafood,

you'll need to keep wiping them. Wet wipes cost extra,

so bringing your own will make your experience much more comfortable.

Even more important: disposable plastic gloves!!

They're super useful when eating lobster and crab.

You can ask for them, but they also come with a charge~

Honestly, it's a small cost, but it feels a bit wasteful to pay for wet wipes

and things like that after being used to getting them for free elsewhere ^^

My meticulous friends brought everything, so I had a super comfortable time.

Honest Review of Chai Village

📍Pros

✅ Incredible value for money.

✅ The lobster is fresh and delicious.

✅ The main hall offers beautiful night views of Ho Chi Minh City.

✅ The staff are friendly.

📍Cons

❌ It can get noisy because there are a lot of people.

❌ The self-service bar is just okay

(personal preference).

Ho Chi Minh City has so many great lobster spots, right?

Here's why we chose Chai Village!

✔️ Seafood Market: Lobsters are bigger, but more expensive.

✔️ Local Seafood Restaurants: Affordable, but the ambiance is lacking.

✔️ High-end Restaurants: Great taste, but 2-3 times the price.

Overall, Chai Village perfectly balances

value, ambiance, and taste!

Where else can you enjoy seafood, including lobster,

for around ~$28?

Even Nha Trang's Ngon Gallery had all-you-can-eat lobster

for nearly ~$55.

We were so full, we just had to walk it off~

Ho Chi Minh City at night was truly beautiful.

The Ho Chi Minh City Hall building was lit up, water was gushing from the fountains...

and people were sitting everywhere, chatting.

The walking street is car-free on weekends,

offering plenty of performances and sights.

It was also fascinating to see the free spirit of the Ho Chi Minh City locals.

Families and friends were simply enjoying the night.

Just being there, in that moment,

brought such a happy feeling~
