🇯🇵 Shinsaibashi Stay: Candeo Hotels Osaka Namba
Highly recommended for those who:
✔︎ Want to visit Dotonbori every single day
✔︎ Love being close to convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart)
✔︎ Want an open-air public bath with a view of the sky

This hotel is incredibly popular for travelers visiting Osaka.
Not only is it super close to Dotonbori,
but if you're taking a day bus tour to the outskirts of Osaka,
the meeting points are usually just a stone's throw away! ❤️
✨️Even my blog neighbor Eun-ji highly recommended this place! ✨️

They do have multilingual staff on site,
but since I didn't know that at first, I just checked in using English.
They gave a very detailed explanation (even if it was a lot to take in!),

but they also hand you a well-translated guide, so don't worry if you miss some of the spoken details.

Also, if you forgot to bring a travel adapter (110v), they can lend you one!
There were three of us, but we only brought two adapters... so we had to borrow one. 🤣

Since check-in starts at 3:00 PM and we arrived around 2:00 PM,
we originally planned to just drop off our luggage and head out to explore.
But they kindly let us check in early!

So we walked down the luxurious hallway

and headed to our assigned room.
I had requested a high floor when booking, and they gave us a relatively high floor, which was great! ❤️
I thought a high floor would guarantee a nice view, but it turned out to be a concrete wall view... haha.

By the way, even if the view was a bit disappointing, having an
ice machine in the hallway that we could use whenever we wanted was amazing!
The Room (Executive Twin Room with Sofa Bed, Non-Smoking)

As soon as we walked in, comfortable slippers were waiting for us.
First of all, they weren't those paper-thin, flimsy slippers, which was a huge plus!

Since there were three of us, we booked the Executive Twin Room,
and it was surprisingly spacious for a Japanese hotel! 😲
We actually had enough floor space to fully open our suitcases!
There were two beds and a large sofa-like setup,
and the sofa could easily be turned into a third bed with the provided bedding.
Honestly, even without the sofa bed, the main beds were wide enough to comfortably sleep three.

On top of the duvet, they provide pajamas. You can wear these to walk to and from the public bath. They were surprisingly thick and nice,
but the pants were a bit too big and kept slipping down on me, even though I have a bit of a belly!
Seeing how well they fit other people, it felt like a bit of a hit-or-miss with the sizing. 😂

Right opposite the bed was a TV,
where you can request whether or not you want room cleaning.
You can change the language settings, making it super easy to navigate!
Plus, since it was the 2026 World Cup season when I visited,
I had a blast watching the matches on TV.❤️

On top of that, there was bottled water, hangers, a fridge,
and even a nice little table perfect for snacking, which was super convenient.

Sometimes hotels with public baths (onsen/spa)
have teeny-tiny bathrooms,
but Candeo Hotels Osaka Namba actually had a decent amount of bathroom space!

The toiletries were so amazing that I bought some
to bring home as gifts and for myself.❤️
My Sky Spa (Public Bath) Review

The Sky Spa is located on the 17th floor, and if you want to use it,
you absolutely must bring your room key!
Red is for women, purple is for men.
So if you grab the wrong one, you'll have to hike all the way back to your room!
Naturally, photos aren't allowed inside the baths, right?
So I was just going to write a text review,
but the hallway and the night view were so gorgeous that I had to snap a few shots.
Now for the actual spa review. Whenever a Japanese hotel says they have a "public bath,"
I usually expect a dated, old-school public bathhouse vibe,
so I honestly didn't have high expectations.
But wow, Candeo Namba was incredible.
Part of the bath has an open-air ceiling where you can see the sky,
so it felt so refreshing to soak and melt away my travel fatigue without feeling stuffy at all!
The hair dryers have great airflow,
they have hairbrushes, hair ties,
and you know how hair always piles up in women's changing rooms?
They were constantly cleaning it up in real-time, which was so nice.
Just keep an eye on your body towels and hand towels, though!
Someone actually swiped my used body scrub towel... sigh.
Booking the Hotel

Candeo Hotels Osaka Namba is fantastic because it's so close to the Dotonbori River.
As of July 5, 2026,
Yeogi Eottae was the cheapest due to their lowest price guarantee,
but when I booked, MyRealTrip had the best rate.
So I highly recommend comparing them before you book!

✔︎ Loved how close it was to Dotonbori,
Osaka Candeo Hotel!
It is seriously so close to Dotonbori,
making it incredibly easy to hang out nearby and walk right back to the room.
Plus, there's a 7-Eleven and a FamilyMart right next to the hotel,
which was perfect for grabbing beer and quick late-night snacks.
The Sky Spa was surprisingly nice,
and the amenities were so good I ended up buying some to go.
All in all, a thoroughly satisfying stay! 💙
