Burirattana Chiang Mai Old Town Review 2026: Location & Breakfast
Searching for the perfect Chiang Mai Old Town hotel? Burirattana offers an ideal location for exploring on foot, delicious breakfast, and top-notch service.

Looking for a hotel in Chiang Mai Old Town with a fantastic location
and delicious breakfast? You’re not alone in searching for the perfect spot!
Imagine a hotel where you can walk to Wat Chedi Luang, Tha Phae Gate, Wat Phra Singh,
and even the bustling Sunday Market.
Add a truly satisfying breakfast to that, and you've got a winner!
That's exactly what you'll find at Chiang Mai Burirattana.
Having stayed there myself,
I can confidently say its location is incredibly convenient for exploring the Old Town.
The breakfast and staff service were also top-notch,
making it a highly satisfying accommodation.
If your travel plans revolve around Chiang Mai Old Town,
I absolutely recommend it!
1. Chiang Mai Old Town & Burirattana's Prime Location

When you're searching for accommodation in Chiang Mai,
you'll notice the name Old Town popping up everywhere.
The Old Town is Chiang Mai's historic heart, an ancient city
surrounded by a moat and crumbling walls.
From majestic temples like Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh to charming cafes,
delicious eateries, and relaxing massage shops, it's all here.
If you're visiting Chiang Mai for the first time,
it’s one of the best areas to base yourself.
It’s incredibly walkable, making it easy to explore key attractions on foot.
Plus, every Sunday, the famous Sunday Market springs to life, stretching right across the Old Town.
Chiang Mai Burirattana is
perfectly situated right in the heart of this vibrant Old Town.
🚶 Wat Chedi Luang — Walkable
🚶 Tha Phae Gate — Walkable
🚶 Wat Phra Singh — Walkable
🛍️ Sunday Market — Right outside the hotel!
🍜 Old Town Eateries (like Blue Noodle) — All within walking distance
During my stay, the biggest advantage was hardly ever needing to take a Grab or taxi,
whether I was heading to a tourist spot or a local restaurant.

Especially on Sundays, with the Sunday Market right outside the hotel,
you can easily browse and then just pop back to your room.
However, this convenience can be both a blessing and a minor challenge.
On Sunday evenings, when the market is in full swing,
the area around the hotel can get quite crowded and a bit noisy, so do keep that in mind.
2. Burirattana Rooms & Price Comparison

The room I personally stayed in was a
Superior King Room.
When I made my booking, it cost me approximately
~$139 per night, including breakfast.
Comparing prices again now, it seems the Superior King Room I stayed in
isn't available under the same conditions.
So, I've compared prices on Trip.com, Klook, and Agoda for a Superior Twin Room,
one of the currently available room types.
📌 Platform Price Comparison
(Based on 2026.11.30~12.4,
Superior Twin Room, free cancellation, and breakfast included)
I compared prices for the same dates, room type,
and booking conditions.
Trip.com | ~$214 | |
Klook | ~$214 | 🔗 Book Now |
Agoda | ~$205 |
When I compared, Agoda came out
as the most affordable option.
Compared to Trip.com, it was about ~$9 cheaper,
and compared to Klook, it was about ~$9 cheaper per night.
The difference can grow larger if you're staying for multiple nights,
so I highly recommend comparing 2-3 platforms under the same conditions
before you book.
💸 Hehehohi Travel Tip |
When comparing hotel prices, don't just look at the room name; make sure to check if breakfast is included and if there's a free cancellation option. In this comparison, Agoda was more than ~$7 cheaper per night compared to Trip.com and Klook under the same conditions. |
Hotel prices can fluctuate based on booking time, stay dates,
and room availability,
so please use the prices above as a reference for comparison.

3. Burirattana Superior King Room Review

Allow me to introduce the
Superior King Room I personally stayed in.
What I loved as soon as I stepped into the room
was how incredibly powerful the air conditioning was!
After exploring hot Chiang Mai,
coming back to the hotel felt like a true lifesaver.
The bed was also comfortable, perfect for unwinding from
the fatigue accumulated during my travels,
and both the room and common areas were generally
spotlessly clean and well-maintained.

And something that surprisingly exceeded my expectations was
the complimentary mini-bar.
Not only was the mini-bar free,
but it was also restocked daily,
allowing me to enjoy it conveniently throughout my stay.
The bathroom was also quite clean.

However, if you're particular about water quality,
I'd recommend bringing your own shower filter.
If a great view is important to you,
be sure to inquire when booking if a high-floor corner room assignment is possible.
4. Burirattana Breakfast Review

One of the things I was particularly satisfied with at Burirattana was
definitely the breakfast.
Breakfast is served à la carte
at the brunch cafe on the first floor.
Instead of a typical buffet where you pick up your own food,
you can choose the dishes you want,
and the overall food quality was excellent.
The latte, in particular, was delicious!
Rather than feeling like I was having a standard hotel breakfast,
it felt more like visiting a lovely brunch cafe every morning
for a delightful meal.
I'd even go so far as to call it a true brunch hotspot!

And even on days when you have an early morning tour,
you don't have to sacrifice breakfast.
If you request it the evening before,
they'll prepare a lunch box for you,
making it super convenient for those early departures.
This is why I highly recommend it not just to those looking for a well-located hotel in Chiang Mai,
but also to anyone seeking a hotel with delicious breakfast.
5. Facilities: Pool, Spa, and More

Facilities include a fitness center,
swimming pool, restaurant, bar,
and the in-house BURI DHARA Spa.
At BURI DHARA, I also indulged in
a 90-minute Relieve Hot Stone treatment.
It cost 2,390 baht,
and since it was an oil massage using hot stones,
I could even shower afterwards.
While it was on the pricier side,
among all the spas I've visited in Chiang Mai,
this one offered the highest satisfaction.
Especially if you're staying at the hotel,
you can enjoy it immediately without having to travel far,
and I was even able to get a guest discount.
I've compiled a detailed review comparing this spa with other massage shops
I personally visited in Chiang Mai
in a separate blog post.

6. Pros and Cons of My Stay at Burirattana

After staying there myself, the pros and cons of Burirattana
were quite clear.
What I Loved
✔️ Easy walking access to major Old Town attractions
✔️ Sunday Market right in front of the hotel
✔️ Excellent breakfast quality and delicious lattes
✔️ Complimentary minibar replenished daily
✔️ Friendly staff
✔️ Late check-ins are possible
✔️ On-site spa available
Even though I arrived late at night,
the staff were incredibly kind and helpful,
making a great first impression.
Both the rooms and common areas were also
spotlessly clean and well-maintained.
Things to Consider
✔️ Potential noise from the Sunday Market on Sunday evenings
✔️ Birdsong might wake you early in the morning
While having the Sunday Market right outside is incredibly convenient for travelers,
it could be a downside for those who prefer a very quiet accommodation.
Also, be aware that birdsong in the morning
might wake you up early, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to noise.
7. Should You Stay at Burirattana Chiang Mai?
Burirattana Chiang Mai is a hotel I'd highly recommend
for anyone looking to explore the Old Town.
It was incredibly convenient to walk to major attractions like
Wat Chedi Luang, Tha Phae Gate, and Wat Phra Singh.

and the staff service was wonderfully satisfying.
I especially recommend it for:
✔️ First-time travelers to Chiang Mai Old Town
✔️ Those who prefer to explore major attractions on foot
✔️ Anyone seeking a hotel with a delicious breakfast
✔️ Travelers who plan to visit the Sunday Market
✔️ Guests who want to enjoy a spa experience right at their hotel
Conversely, if you absolutely need a very quiet hotel environment,
you might want to consider the potential noise
from the Sunday Market on Sunday evenings.
Based on my personal experience,
it's an **Old Town Chiang Mai hotel that struck a great balance of location, breakfast, and service.**
Especially if exploring the Old Town is the main focus of your trip,
you'll likely find it even more satisfying as it cuts down on Grab taxi travel time.
Hotel prices can vary depending on the booking time and room type,
so before making a reservation,
compare several platforms for the same dates and conditions.
