Why We Chose Best Western
When we thought about the central area, it was mainly about delicious food and the night market, so we wanted to find a place that offered great value for money.
We were looking for somewhere with great value for money,
Reasonably clean,
And with a delicious breakfast, of course! 😉
Our accommodation comparison and deliberations were in the previous post 🔽
This is the main entrance,

Walk past the main entrance,
And just cross the road, and you're at Sonasea Night Market!

There's also a BiBi Mart right there,
Where you can buy almost anything you need,
And we even dropped off our laundry here.

Walk past the hotel, and you'll find the pool,
Beyond the pool, there's the beach,
So the location was truly fantastic!
Location King!
Check-in Process
We were checking in around evening, so I contacted them beforehand,
But it turns out there was no need!
(There was a bit of a panic because they said there was no reservation information,
But when we arrived, we checked in right away as if nothing had happened.)

Even though it was a bit hectic,
There was no deposit, and check-in was quick and easy.

Room Condition & Water Quality (Filter)

There's also a sink and a microwave.
Bottled water is extra (it's Aquafina, after all!).
They asked if we wanted twin beds or a king bed,
And I requested twin beds, thinking we'd sleep separately!
But we ended up pushing them together and sleeping side-by-side anyway! 😅
Wish we had just gotten the king bed...

It's a bit messy since we had just unpacked, but...
The bathroom side is covered by a blind,
So at night, you can sometimes see silhouettes, haha.
The buildings you see behind the balcony are part of the Sonasea Night Market!

The balcony was really well-equipped,
So we enjoyed coffee in this space,
And the kids even had ramen there!
The Filter
We changed this after 2 nights. And let me tell you, it was the best condition we've seen compared to all our previous stays!

Best Western Breakfast
Breakfast Restaurant

Next to the swimming pool,
there were many outdoor tables,
so we ate here.
There were many Koreans.
It seemed like a place popular with package tourists.

Of course, pho is a must-have!

You can choose between beef pho, chicken pho, and so on.
On this day, it was spicy pho,
but the kids weren't big fans...
The broth was fine, but the noodles felt like udon noodles... so I wasn't a big fan either.
The fried eggs weren't made at an egg station; they were pre-made and stacked.
It was convenient not having to wait.

There was also gochujang, so you could make bibimbap.
It definitely had Korean-friendly food.

Breakfast the next day.
The pho we know and love was served.
I took some pepper sausages and added them in, haha.
There was also tteokbokki.

Best Western Pool & Beach (Electric Scooters)
This is the main pool you see right away.
A rectangular pool.

On this day, at Sonachi,
I bought some salt coffee and took a short break while drinking it.

We had breakfast next to this pool.
Behind the Best Western, to the right of the rectangular pool, there's also a playground.

There's a fairly deep pool along with a shallow kiddie pool.
It seems to be about 1.3m deep.
They said it's deeper than Melia Vinpearl's.

Towel pick-up point.
You can get towels for free by telling them your room number.
There are two places to rent electric scooters,
and you can rent them here too.

The long pool.
With pools on both sides, it's great for swimming without feeling crowded.

The weather was fantastic, so our photos turned out absolutely amazing!
We even captured some truly Instagram-worthy moments with our selfie stick tripod.

Discovering the Second Main Pool

Our Electric Scooter Adventure!
Past the long swimming pool, you'll find
another spot to rent electric scooters right near the second main pool!

They seemed to have a wide variety of electric scooters,
so we decided to rent ours from here!
Prices start from 250,000 dong, but
for younger elementary school kids, they recommended electric scooters priced at 400,000 dong or more.
We were told the 250,000 dong scooters are for toddlers and move quite slowly.
While 400,000 dong for 30 minutes might seem a bit steep,
our second-grader had an absolute blast!
It was definitely worth renting at least once.
Our scooter stopped twice while we were riding, and we had to exchange it,
but the staff were great about replacing it for us.
After a good while of zooming around,
a staff member came to collect the scooter, letting us know our time was up.

Just a heads-up, they're quite heavy if you try to lift them!

When the kids get on them, they really pick up speed!
Check out the video to see them in action!

Past the long swimming pool,
and beyond the main pool once more, you'll discover the beautiful beach!

It looks like they operate a fantastic bar in the evenings here.
Imagine how atmospheric and charming it must be...

We actually came out to explore a bit after breakfast.

And these hammocks? Absolutely gorgeous!
But it was so damp that I just barely sat down for a photo,
and my whole bottom got soaked!

Sonasea Night Market
There's Duong Dong Night Market and Sonasea Night Market,
but since we only had two nights in the central area,
and had a Sunset Town itinerary, we only explored the nearby Sonasea.

During the day, it looks so empty.....

but when night falls, the lights come on!

With great food stalls, supermarkets, and massage shops,
its easy accessibility
seems to be the biggest advantage of the Best Western Hotel.
Location boss, haha!
As we took a big stroll around,
we spotted Kingkong Mart and decided to check it out.
It seemed like it had just opened recently.

BIDV ATM
You'll find the ATM if you head towards the Novotel Hotel.
With the Best Western Hotel behind you,
just keep going straight without crossing the road, and it's there.

UnionPay has no transaction fees, so
I withdrew 2.9 million VND twice, I think?

Airport ATM Withdrawal Review
After withdrawing cash, I bought some salt coffee and headed back to the hotel.
The salt coffee was even tastier than the cocoa coffee.
I'll share a separate review for this later.

As I passed by after withdrawing from the ATM, I spotted the Sun Bus.
We couldn't take it because the timing didn't work out for us,
but I heard the Sun Bus is also quite convenient.

On our last day, after a foot massage,
we bought this crepe to eat.

Well, it tasted like... a crepe.
We chose the ice cream option, and while the kids loved it,
it was a bit too rich for me, so we left some.
