Could this be the best-value hotel in Phu Quoc, Vietnam?

I'm sharing my full experience at the Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc.

For less than ~$77 a night, I got a spacious room, a sparkling clean bathroom, and even a kitchenette for simple meals.

Here's my honest review, covering all the highlights and the few minor drawbacks.

Let's dive into my first impression of this Phu Quoc gem.

The modern exterior of the Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc hotel.

Vietnam's Ultimate Value Hotel in Phu Quoc

The entrance and lobby area of the hotel, showing a clean and modern design.

The excitement was palpable as I made my way from Phu Quoc Airport to the hotel.

Pulling up to the Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc, my first impression was of clean, modern sophistication.

The crisp white and gray exterior created a chic vibe, perfectly complemented by the surrounding palm trees and tropical greenery that reminded me I was truly on an island getaway.

The lobby was spacious and refreshingly cool, with plenty of comfortable seating to relax after my flight.

Getting here was a breeze—it's only about a 20-minute taxi ride from the airport, costing between 200,000 to 300,000 VND (about ~$8 to ~$12).

For extra convenience, I'd recommend using a ride-hailing app like Grab.

The Room: A Perfect Retreat in Phu Quoc

Spacious hotel room with a king-size bed and a small sofa.

Spacious and Inviting: Your Perfect Phu Quoc Hideaway

As soon as I stepped into the room after checking in, I was blown away by the sheer amount of space.

The king-size bed looked incredibly plush and inviting, and next to it, a small sofa and table created the perfect little nook for relaxing.

A close-up of the comfortable bed and side table.

The warm lighting and wood flooring gave the room a cozy, comfortable atmosphere, while the ocean-themed artwork on the wall was a lovely nod to Phu Quoc's stunning scenery.

Of course, all the essentials were there: a TV, air conditioning, and a phone.

After unpacking, I flopped onto the bed for a moment and knew right away I'd be sleeping soundly.

The room felt airy and bright, and I really appreciated the conveniently placed power outlets on the nightstand for easy phone charging.

The Bathroom: Sleek and Spotless

The clean and modern bathroom vanity and sink. The spacious walk-in shower with a glass door.

If I had to find one small downside, it was the lack of a bathtub.

However, the walk-in shower was spacious, immaculately clean, and had excellent hot water pressure.

The bathroom, decorated with white and mosaic tiles, had a clean, modern feel.

Basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided on the vanity, and there were plenty of fresh towels.

Cleanliness is non-negotiable for me when I travel, and the Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc passed with flying colors.

The shower was free of any water spots, and the sink and toilet were sparkling.

I also noticed they use eco-friendly products, which is a great touch.

Bonus Feature: In-Room Kitchenette

The in-room kitchenette with a sink, induction cooktop, and microwave.

One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is the in-room kitchenette, complete with a sink, induction cooktop, and microwave.

This is a game-changer for anyone wanting to prepare simple meals.

Thanks to this, I was able to buy fresh seafood from the Phu Quoc night market and cook it up right in my room—it was delicious!

The hotel provides daily complimentary bottled water, tea bags, and an electric kettle. The cupboards were also stocked with plenty of cups and dishes.

Inside the closet, I found hangers, a safe, a laundry bag, and slippers for my convenience.

Resort Facilities & Pro Tips

A panoramic view of the massive lagoon-style pool, resort villas, and the beach in the distance.

The resort is beautifully designed around a massive lagoon-style swimming pool, with the main hotel building on one side and private villas on the other.

The view from my room was spectacular, stretching from the pool across the villas all the way to the private beach. It was an impressive and memorable sight.

The breakfast restaurant is located on the first floor next to the elevator.

Pro-Tip: It gets very busy during the peak hours of 8 AM to 9 AM. If you go during this time, you might have to sit at an outdoor table without air conditioning. I recommend going a little earlier to beat the rush and enjoy a more relaxed meal.

If you're searching for a hotel in Phu Quoc that delivers incredible bang for your buck, look no further.
