The trendy street I'm introducing today in Beijing's Qianmen is Xixinglong Street (西兴隆街).
✅️ It's a street conveniently located for exploring along with major Beijing tourist attractions like Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, and Qianmen Street.
It's a new trendy hotspot where many flagship stores of China's emerging affordable luxury local brands are opening, and upscale lifestyle shops and cafes are increasingly gathering.
It's like Bukchon Hanok Village in Korea!

✅️ I'll introduce you to the trending local hot-spot cafes, flagship stores, and even some insider tips I discovered during my personal exploration of Xixinglong Street!
Introducing Xixinglong Street (西兴隆街): Beijing's New Trendy Street

West Xinglong Street Road, Dongcheng

Actually, I've been visiting this street since I was a child, and it used to be a very run-down area.
But after several years of continuous construction, it has suddenly transformed into such a hot spot, and I'm still a bit bewildered.
(Even residents of this neighborhood are bewildered)

Street renovations began a few years ago, and since early this year, wonderful shops, including upscale brands, cafes, and lifestyle stores that have revived Beijing's traditional courtyards (Siheyuan), have been continuously opening.
With even flea markets on weekends, it seems destined to become even more well-known and bustling in the future!
It's also close to '📍Voyage Coffee Sanlihe branch,' which I introduced previously.

Even as you pass by these upscale shops, if you duck into the hutongs (traditional alleys) here and there, you can experience a vibrant neighborhood brimming with local life!
✅️ The charm of this street, I believe, lies in the coexistence of newly established stylish stores and the atmosphere of old Beijing alleys.
Even though the street hasn't been redeveloped for very long, there were already many noticeable local hotspots.
I'll introduce you to the charming Beijing cafes and local Chinese brands that impressed me during my personal exploration!
JM Cafe | A Great Cafe to Enjoy, Even if You're Not a Jay Chou Fan

J'm Cafe, also known as JM Cafe, which has several other branches, is a cafe brand created by a Jay Chou fan!
That's why only Jay Chou's songs are played, and his photos are displayed.
However, it's a regular cafe where the Jay Chou theme isn't overtly obvious, so if you're not familiar with him, you might not even notice it, meaning you can enjoy it without any hesitation even if you're not a fan!
Everyone dresses up beautifully and diligently takes photos outside.

Above all, the bakery items and coffee were surprisingly good, exceeding my expectations!
The bakery items were more affordable than I expected, but the coffee was a bit pricey (I think the standard is hand-drip; an Americano is 45 yuan).
However, they have a variety of beans and seem genuinely passionate about coffee. Haha.
Compared to other branches, the interior isn't very large, and there are fewer bakery options, but it does have some terrace seating and is a great cafe for soaking in the atmosphere.
Onla Onla 席地而作·民艺商店(北京西兴隆街店) | Charming Handicraft & Lifestyle Shop

Onla Onla, a lifestyle shop that sells unique folk handicrafts, dolls, and accessories!
It had a surprisingly wide variety of interesting and unique items, making it perfect for a quick browse or for souvenir and gift shopping.

They also sell accessories that are either bold or simple, yet have a distinctive touch.
And the overall price range wasn't bad at all!

As someone who loves Latin and Inca styles, this particular item had me deliberating a hundred times whether to buy it or not...
It was so appealing, but I wasn't sure how I'd use it, so I ended up putting it back.
If it's still there next time I visit, I think I'll definitely take it home with me! Haha.
AromeManpo 馥郁满铺 | A Local Fragrance & Skincare Brand Advertised by Jing Boran

This is the flagship store for AromeManpo (馥郁满铺), a Chinese-inspired fragrance and skincare brand.
I heard the interior was designed to evoke a palace-like atmosphere, utilizing wood, stone, light and shadow, and botanical scents!

Even though I wanted to go inside and explore, the wait was quite long, so I had to give up.
What really impressed me was the sink installed outside, allowing passersby to experience the products.
While they do sell coffee, their lineup primarily focuses on floral tea-based perfumes, body, and facial products, and they reportedly use tuberose, an ingredient often found in high-end fragrances, as a key part of their identity!
So, the price point leans towards an 'affordable luxury' feel, slightly higher than the Chinese average.

The real reason why this place draws such a crowd is,
...because Chinese actor Jing Boran (Zheng Baiyan), who's currently hot in Korea too, is their model and brand ambassador!
The fantasy C-drama 'The Spring's Tale' (Jo Chun-cheong-rang), where an employee falls in love with their boss, is so famous that I've been tempted to watch it
but I'm worried that once I start, my daily life might suffer, so I haven't watched it yet, haha!
If you're curious about local Chinese beauty brands or perfumes, just exploring the store's atmosphere would be fascinating.
浴见 BATHFEEL | Premium Body Care Brand

Bathfeel (浴见) is also an emerging premium local body care brand!
Their lineup is geared towards home spa routines, including body and shower products,
and they primarily sell sophisticated natural scents, oil-based body care products, and solid perfumes.

I really liked the natural scents and ingredients, which evoke an Eastern spa aroma, with names like 'Yuzu Tree Forest,' 'Pine Forest,' and 'Bitter Mugwort',
Again, for a Chinese brand, the price point is slightly higher, making it another 'affordable luxury' brand that would be perfect for gifting.
They also have wellness products like various types of guasha tools and massage brushes, and even travel kits!

The atmosphere is free and relaxed, and the staff are really dedicated to explaining everything,
Each product is well-prepared for sampling and testing.
I also loved that here, too, all products are provided with sinks inside, allowing visitors to freely try them out.

While my timing didn't quite align, so I couldn't fully explore,
there was also a place selling these amazing and unique **carpets**,
a French-themed kitchen pop-up event was taking place,

the amazing coffee spot, Café **TASOGARE Coffee**, and
**Tiao Bar**, which was selected as one of Asia's 50 Best Bars, are also on this street, so I'll introduce them in more detail soon.
Since new brands keep popping up on this street, I definitely want to stop by and visit each one whenever I travel to Beijing in the future!
