As your Beijing trip draws to a close,
there’s one essential stop: Beijing's iconic supermarket,
'Wumart (物美超市)'!
Today, I want to introduce my Wumart shopping list,
full of great souvenir ideas for your Beijing trip.
Recommended Beijing Wumart Shopping List

Below, I'll simply introduce the Beijing Wumart shopping list,
organized by theme.
Snacks

The first snack I want to introduce is egg rolls.
With their crispy texture and just the right amount of sweetness,
they're a perfect companion for coffee.
They're a crowd-pleaser, making them a great gift option too!

Next up, let's talk about Lay's potato chips.
You'll find unique flavors here that you might not get in other places,
like cucumber and tomato. There are so many unusual and interesting flavors!
Especially if you're a fan of cucumber,
I highly recommend trying the cucumber flavor.

Lay's potato chips aren't just available in bags,
but also in canisters. They have a texture similar to Pringles, but these canister Lay's chips also
come in a wide variety of flavors, so I totally recommend them!
Personally, I found the cucumber and avocado flavors to be particularly delicious!

Another recommendation from the Lay's brand is taro chips.
Taro chips are thinner than potato chips but much crispier,
making them a snack with a fantastic crunch.
Plus, the black pepper flavor gives them a wonderful umami taste, so I highly recommend them!

Next up are Oreo cookies.
While Oreos are available in many places, China offers
so many unique flavors that it's fun to pick and choose.
The mushroom flavor, in particular, tastes surprisingly like cream of mushroom soup,
and I found it surprisingly delicious!

Doudou Quqi (豆豆曲奇) are cookies embedded with chocolate chips.
They come in various flavors like cheese, matcha, and blueberry.
Personally, I found the cheese flavor to be absolutely delicious!
They're heavenly with coffee or milk.

Next up, the Pocky Pistachio flavor
features savory pistachio cream coating
stick biscuits, tasting similar to Pepero.
If you love pistachios as much as I do,
you absolutely have to grab a pack!

Finally, the last snack I want to introduce
is none other than Fenglisu (pineapple cake).
Of course, since it's a supermarket version of Fenglisu,
it might not be quite as exquisite as those from specialty stores,
but it's still a perfect snack to grab and enjoy,
with its savory notes and pleasant sweetness!
Nuts & More

The first nut I want to introduce
is seasoned sunflower seeds.
The seasoning is on the shell of the sunflower seeds,
It's a flavor you just keep popping into your mouth,
and there's even the fun of peeling each one.
From the photo above, the red bag on the far left
contains the sunflower seeds I highly recommend!

Next up are Mala Peanuts.
These are peanuts coated in Mala flavor,
making them perfect as a beer snack.
The quantity in one pack isn't overly much,
so they're a great snack to enjoy one by one.

The last snack is Weilong's
Xiangla Spicy Konjac.
It's become so popular that you can even find it in Korea these days,
and Weilong brand's
Spicy Konjac offers a great texture and rich flavor.
With its chewy texture and stimulating seasoning,
this Spicy Konjac is also a fantastic match for beer!
Noodles
Next, let me introduce some noodle dishes.

The first ramen I'll introduce is Coriander Ramen.
Coriander is a herb that strongly divides opinions,
but this Coriander Ramen doesn't have an overpowering cilantro scent,
so I recommend it for beginners.
While it has a slight hint of coriander, it tastes similar to miso ramen,
and I truly enjoyed it!

Next is Tudou Fen, a potato noodle meal kit.
This meal kit contains chewy potato noodles, vegetables, and tofu,
and it tastes similar to the Tudou Fen you'd eat locally in China.
I like to stock up on several at home,
and whenever I miss Chinese Tudou Fen,
I just whip up one of these meal kits!
Toothpaste

Next, I want to tell you about toothpaste.
Specifically, Darlie and Colgate toothpastes.
You can get them for much cheaper than in Korea,
making them great items to stock up on.
Since different products go on sale at different times,
check the prices and grab whatever's cheapest!
Alcoholic Beverages

Next, for alcoholic beverages, since you're in Beijing, I highly recommend
buying a bottle of the famous Erguotou.
It has a high alcohol content, but it boasts a subtle aroma
and a surprisingly smooth finish, so the flavors are quite good!

Baijiu ranges from budget-friendly options to premium selections.
If expensive alcoholic beverages are a bit much for your wallet,
you can try purchasing some of these more affordable lines.
Or, for a fun experience, buy various miniatures
and do a taste comparison.
Fruits
Finally, I'd like to recommend some fruits that you can't take back to Korea
but are absolutely wonderful to enjoy locally!

A pack of blueberries is 15 yuan,
strawberries are around 21 yuan, and white strawberries are about 26 yuan.
Compared to Korea, fruit prices here are truly affordable!
What's more, white strawberries are a variety
you don't often see in Korea, so definitely give them a try.
They're incredibly sweet, you'll devour them in no time!

You'll also find melons, watermelons, cherries, and more,
all conveniently pre-cut into small portions and sold,
making them perfect for a refreshing late-night snack!
