Are you planning a family trip to Beijing with your parents?
Beijing is one of those incredible destinations where you can truly dive deep into Chinese history, making it perfect for a trip with your parents.
Today, I'll be sharing the 3-night, 4-day Beijing itinerary from my own unforgettable family trip with my parents, along with plenty of amazing tips!
The 3-night, 4-day Beijing travel course I recommend is as follows:

Before I dive into the detailed day-by-day itinerary below, let me first recommend some fantastic family-friendly accommodations for those of you who haven't booked your hotel yet.
Having traveled to Beijing multiple times myself, I can confidently say that I would unconditionally recommend staying in the Wangfujing city center.
Wangfujing city center is bustling with all sorts of amazing restaurants and cafes that are beloved by visitors, and it offers excellent accessibility to Beijing's key city attractions.
For your family trip, I highly recommend checking out The North Garden Hotel Wangfujing, where I personally stayed – I'm sure you'll be delighted!
Its prime location, fantastic room quality, and excellent service made it a place I'd absolutely revisit if I were to travel to Beijing again!

Now, let's dive into the detailed itinerary for your 3-night, 4-day Beijing adventure!
Day 1
Day one is all about arriving in Beijing! After you touch down at Beijing Capital (Shoudu) Airport, I highly recommend booking a convenient airport pickup service, especially if you're traveling with family.
If you're traveling with a larger group, it might be tricky to fit all your luggage into a single taxi, so a pickup service will definitely make things much smoother and more comfortable.

Once you've arrived in the city and checked into your hotel,
On the first day, you can enjoy entering Tiananmen Square and
the night view of Qianmen Street.
You need to make an advance reservation for Tiananmen Square
and enter at your designated time.
Admission is free, so visiting it at least once
will be a great experience.
We even got to see the flag lowering ceremony,
which made it an even more special experience.
Afterward, I recommend having dinner at Qianmen Street,
then enjoying the beautiful streetlights and night views,
and savoring some snacks.
To wrap up the day, before heading back to your accommodation,
lightly enjoy the Wangfujing night view,
and then call it a day!
Day 2
Day 2 is all about a tour that lets you visit
two must-see destinations in Beijing: the Great Wall and the Forbidden City,
all in one go!
Both the Great Wall and the Forbidden City are places where you can
deeply feel Chinese history, so I highly recommend taking a day tour
accompanied by a guide.

At Mutianyu Great Wall, the first destination of the tour,
you'll ride a cable car to explore the Great Wall,
and then have lunch.
It's an incredible experience where you can feel
the grandeur of the Great Wall, so you absolutely must visit!
Next, you'll visit the Forbidden City.
The Forbidden City becomes even more exciting
when you have a guide explaining everything.
As you wander through the vast Forbidden City,
I hope you'll feel the weight of Chinese history.
The Great Wall and Forbidden City tour usually finishes
around 4 or 5 PM.
Since you'll have done quite a bit of walking, I recommend heading towards Shichahai and Nanluoguxiang
to relax at a cafe.
After spending some time at a cafe in Nanluoguxiang,
enjoy walking along Nanluoguxiang Street
and catching the sunset at Shichahai. I recommend this route.
After dinner, head to Sanlitun
and explore its fantastic luxury shopping streets.
Sanlitun is also great for shopping, with stores like Uniqlo, so
I truly recommend visiting it at least once!
Day 3
On Day 3, your itinerary includes a **free and easy visit to the Summer Palace** in the morning,
followed by a **Gubei Water Town day tour**.
If you have the energy on Day 3, I highly recommend visiting the
**Summer Palace** early in the morning and exploring its beauty.
Gazing at the artificial lake, which stretches out like a sea,
was truly breathtaking.
The Summer Palace also boasts many beautiful photo spots,
making it perfect for capturing stunning pictures.
However, you need to make it to the Gubei Water Town tour meeting point
around 12 PM. So, if you feel the timing is too tight,
it's perfectly fine to skip the Summer Palace.
Next, I recommend taking a **day tour that takes you to**
**Gubei Water Town**, a fascinating destination near Beijing.
Gubei Water Town is a place that recreates a traditional Chinese water town,
offering a unique village experience you won't find in Korea.
(It's also one of the best spots for taking photos!)
What's more, you'll get to visit the Great Wall, which is uniquely accessible
for night entry, making for an extraordinary experience.

Being able to enjoy Gubei Water Town's daytime scenery, sunset, and night view
all at once made it a tour that truly satisfied my entire family.
Day 4
On the last day, your schedule involves **morning supermarket shopping, then heading to the airport for your return flight** home.
In downtown Beijing, U-Mart, a large supermarket, is a fantastic spot
for souvenir shopping. I recommend taking a taxi to get there.
After shopping at U-Mart, we packed our bags at the accommodation and took a taxi or a pick-up car to the airport,
concluding our 3-night, 4-day Beijing adventure.

Wangfujing The North Garden Hotel in Wangfujing city center is recommended. This hotel has received high satisfaction for its location, room quality, and service, with guests mentioning a desire to revisit during their Beijing trip.
Tiananmen Square requires advance booking and entry at a designated time. Admission is free, and you can even witness the flag-lowering ceremony, which can be a special experience.
On Day 2, you'll visit Mutianyu Great Wall (using a cable car) and the Forbidden City through a full-day guided tour. The article's author stated they used 'Sunny Tour' for two consecutive years.
The Summer Palace is great for sightseeing, with a vast artificial lake resembling a sea and many beautiful photo spots. However, if you feel time is too tight due to the Gubeikou Water Town tour meeting time, you can consider excluding the Summer Palace.
