01. Ba Na Hills Location & Admission Fees

To truly make the most of your Ba Na Hills adventure,

the very first step is securing your admission tickets!

Since Ba Na Hills is one of Da Nang's premier and most beloved attractions,

queueing up at the ticket booth on-site can eat into your precious exploration time.

Plus, the standard adult admission fee is on the higher side for Southeast Asia,

so snagging your tickets in advance through Klook is a smart move – it's definitely more cost-effective!

You can certainly purchase round-trip shuttle tickets,

but if you're like me and prefer the freedom of not being

tied down by departure times during your trip,

a Grab from Da Nang city center to Ba Na Hills will cost you

around 600,000-700,000 VND (that's about ~$23-30) for a round-trip.

It's super convenient!

Just a quick tip: if Ba Na Hills is on your Vietnam Da Nang itinerary,

the key to a fantastic experience is getting in early and quickly!

Because it's such a popular spot bustling with crowds,

your best bet is to arrive bright and early! That way, you can swiftly

capture those iconic photos at the main photo zones

like the breathtaking Golden Bridge or the vibrant flower festivals,

then enjoy a quick tour before heading off to explore the rest of your chosen itinerary.

02. Ba Na Hills Rides

We hopped on the Ba Na Hills cable car, swiftly admired and snapped photos

of the incredible Golden Bridge, and then dove into enjoying the many

thrilling rides at Da Nang's Ba Na Hills!

The incredibly popular Alpine Coaster is an absolute thrill!

You get to control your own speed as you zoom down the rail,

adjusting with the brake lever, and winding through the lush, verdant mountains.

Normally, your admission ticket grants you free access to most rides.

The Alpine Coaster recently became a paid attraction, but at just about ~$3,

it's totally worth experiencing without breaking the bank!

You can ride solo or with a partner, but if there are two adults,

I highly recommend each of you having your own exhilarating ride!

Keep in mind: riders under 110cm are not permitted.

Those between 110cm and 139cm can ride with a guardian,

and anyone 140cm or taller can ride by themselves for an unforgettable experience.

If you're traveling with children from preschool to early elementary school,

you'll want to head to the indoor amusement park,

Fantasy Park.

Here, you'll find a popular ride,

the Drop Tower.

It shoots up high then suddenly drops, which is

thrilling just to watch!

While some of the rides might give off a slight 90s South Korean vibe,

the great thing is you can pretty much enjoy all the different attractions

to your heart's content with just your admission ticket, without long waits.

Plus, there's an indoor playground too, so during your Da Nang family trip,

guardians can even find some time to relax

and enjoy themselves.

There are also rides like a kids' rollercoaster and a haunted house.

My kindergarten-aged nephew got to ride several attractions

to his heart's content without any waiting,

and he ran around playing with Western and Vietnamese children

in the indoor playground.

Near Ba Na Hills Beer Plaza,

there are also rides like carousels that the whole family can enjoy together

as part of a family trip,

which you can ride freely.

Although the admission ticket price is a bit high,

the upside is that ride waiting times aren't long,

and you can ride as much as you want, which is fantastic.

03. Ba Na Hills Beer Plaza & Brewery

Every time I've visited Ba Na Hills, upon entry,

they've handed out two beer coupons per adult.

These can be used at Beer Plaza, where you'll find a restaurant buffet and the brewery.

What they offer has varied with each visit,

but beer has always been included.

Based on my last visit,

we could choose between fries and beer.

Luckily, some people who had finished their tour shared their unused

coupons with us, so we ended up enjoying four beers and a serving of fries!

Of course, they might try to encourage you to order other things,

but feel free to confidently use just your coupons

and head out when you're done.

On a hot day, we wanted to sit and rest for a while with our child,

so we ordered a simple snack combo that had a little bit of sausage, fries, and popcorn chicken.

It cost 400,000 VND (about ~$15),

which is quite a bit considering local prices, right?

Combos with steak were

in the ~$30-~$53 range, and seafood options were

around ~$75.

This area also connects to a restaurant with a buffet,

and with performances going on, the atmosphere is incredibly exotic and wonderful.

The buffet price is 450,000 VND (about ~$17) per adult.

When you buy your admission ticket, there are options that include the buffet or other meal plans,

so be sure to check them carefully

to make a smart purchase.

Most of the restaurants inside are on the pricier side,

so if you're planning to eat, it might be more cost-effective

to buy the ticket that includes the buffet.

Admission alone costs around ~$38-~$45 per person, depending on the season.

There are various additional options available, such as buffet meals, transportation services from the city,

Alpine Coaster tickets, and more,

allowing you to choose broadly based on your needs

for your Da Nang family trip itinerary.

04. Wrapping Up

Just riding the Ba Na Hills cable car,

one of the world's longest and highest,

is incredibly therapeutic in itself.

You can also enjoy Da Nang Ba Na Hills rides

in cooler temperatures than the city,

and even a refreshing beer at Ba Na Hills Beer Plaza.

It's a bit far from the city center

where most major attractions are concentrated,

and the entrance fee is quite high,

so it's definitely a destination that people either love or hate.

Still, I've been fortunate enough to visit Ba Na Hills

as part of my Da Nang, Vietnam travel itinerary

when the weather was perfect every time.

Each time I went, I got to see the beautiful Golden Bridge scenery,

and my kids and I could fully enjoy the various rides,

making it truly a delightful independent travel itinerary.
