Ba Na Hills Da Nang Guide 2026: Tickets & Transport
Planning a trip to Ba Na Hills in Da Nang? Read our firsthand experience on getting there, choosing tickets, and navigating the massive cable car system.

I recently visited Ba Na Hills, an absolute must-visit on any Da Nang itinerary. I actually went without doing any research beforehand—just grabbed a taxi on the spot that morning and bought my tickets at the entrance. The entire visit took about 7 hours. Even though I explored from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the sheer scale of Ba Na Hills is beyond imagination, and I still didn't manage to see everything!
One of the main things I was worried about was the route. If you take the wrong cable car even once, you might end up in a completely different area and find yourself unable to easily head back—a total nightmare scenario!
In this post, I'll share how to get to and from Ba Na Hills, the different ticket options, and the absolute must-visit spots you can't miss.
How to Get to Ba Na Hills

When taking a taxi in Da Nang, there are two main apps you can use: Grab and inDrive. For longer distances, Grab tends to get pretty pricey. From Da Nang city center to the Ba Na Hills entrance, Grab was quoted at 370,000 VND (~$13), while inDrive was only 238,000 VND (~$9).
That’s a pretty decent price gap, right? While you have to pay in cash with inDrive, it's significantly cheaper than Grab, so I highly recommend using inDrive for long-distance trips.

Here's an extra pro-tip: if you ask your driver if they can pick you up for the return trip at the same price when you're done, most of them will happily say yes.
Sure, there will be plenty of taxi drivers waiting at the bus stop when you finish your tour, but you'll have to go through the hassle of negotiating the fare all over again.
Of course, booking a round trip might make you worry about making the driver wait, especially since you don't know exactly how long you'll be exploring. I actually had the same concern and asked my driver about this using a translation app on our way back. His answer was quite interesting!

We originally agreed to meet around 3:00 PM, but since there was so much to see, we didn't meet until 4:00 PM. I messaged him on KakaoTalk asking him to wait a bit longer, and he was totally cool with it.
Me: "Do you wait for me here all day, or do you drive back down to pick up other passengers and then come back up?"
Driver: "I just took a nap and waited."
Me: "Wouldn't it be better to go back down and make more money with other trips in the meantime?"
Driver: "Since it's the off-season right now (early June at the time), going back down for just a few hours doesn't make much. Instead of wasting time and effort driving back and forth, it's much better for me to secure a guaranteed long-distance fare with you for the return. This is enough for my daily wage!"

So if you're taking a taxi, there's absolutely no need to stress about rushing back on a strict schedule!
Ticket Prices

My taxi driver kindly took me right to the ticket booth. They had automated ticket machines too, but I was still a bit suspicious. I kept thinking, *What if I'm getting ripped off? If they try to overcharge me, I'm outta here!*

Here are the ticket prices for Ba Na Hills in Da Nang. A standard adult admission ticket is 1,000,000 VND per person! That's about ~$37. If you want to include the buffet lunch, it's an extra 300,000 VND. I opted for the ticket that included the lunch buffet, and it was a massive success. While there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, the buffet quality was surprisingly good!
Independent Travel | Booking Site Reservation | Notes
Transport | Round-trip taxi ~$26 | Pick-up service + Admission booked together | Negotiating with taxis can be a hassle |
Ticket Price | ~$37 | Ticket price is similar for both options
Total | ~$63 | ~$64 | Easier to book in advance |

There is practically no price difference even if you book through reservation sites in advance. As a solo traveler, I tried to save some cash by handling it myself, but calling a taxi and buying tickets directly on-site didn't really offer any real benefit. If you are traveling in a group of 2 to 4 people, save yourself the hassle and book in advance! It's much less stressful both mentally and time-wise. (Note: Pick-up vehicle prices vary depending on the group size).
Should You Buy the Wow Pass?

The Wow Pass can only be purchased on-site. It comes in Silver, Gold, and Game tiers, each with slightly different benefits.
The Silver Pass costs 300,000 VND and gives you priority cable car boarding. The Gold Pass is 1,000,000 VND and includes priority cable car boarding, reserved restaurant seating, and one priority pass for rides (including the alpine coaster/luge).

It's similar to Universal Studios' Express Pass or Disneyland's Premier Access, but honestly, you don't really need to buy the Wow Pass at Ba Na Hills.
There was only one moment where I thought, "Man, I wish I had a Wow Pass." Around 3:00 to 4:00 PM, the queue for the return cable car gets incredibly long. I waited for about an hour here, but paying for a Gold Pass just to skip this line is definitely not worth the price. As for the alpine coaster (luge), you can easily avoid long lines without a Wow Pass by riding it in the morning rather than late afternoon—you'll get on in less than 20 minutes!
Recommended Route

I was super nervous before arriving because I heard you could easily get lost if you don't map out your route beforehand.
But honestly? First, just follow the crowd and go with the flow!

If you just walk mindlessly with the stream of people, you'll naturally find yourself boarding the cable car.

Once you step off the cable car, a funicular railway is waiting for you. Yep, you get on another ride lol. Honestly, at this point, I didn't even know where I was heading!

And then, the iconic symbol of Ba Na Hills appears: the Golden Bridge! After snapping a bunch of photos under the giant stone hands, it’s time to move on to the next spot.

If you head to the opposite side of the Golden Bridge, you'll find a massive circular dome. This place is an absolute madhouse! It’s so chaotic that you'll start questioning where you are, where you're supposed to go, and who you even are. Cue the mental breakdown!

Just keep a close eye on the signposts and make your way toward your desired destination.

After exploring the Golden Bridge, we headed up to the French Village. By then, it was around 11:00 AM, so we decided to grab an early lunch.

If you head downstairs here, you can enjoy a buffet at the Four Seasons Restaurant. Quick tip: if you bundle this with your admission ticket beforehand, you can save 80,000 VND (about $3).

When booking online, just select the "Ba Na Hills Lunch Buffet" add-on first, complete that reservation, and then book your admission ticket.

The restaurant is absolutely massive, easily holding several hundred people. I've seen some reviews saying this place is underwhelming, but honestly, what more do people expect? I've rarely seen a buffet run this smoothly with zero wait time at a major tourist spot that hosts thousands of visitors a day. It’s seriously impressive!

The variety of food was endless—they even had frog legs, haha! From pho and local Vietnamese dishes to Korean food, it completely exceeded my expectations, and everything tasted great.

There are so many gorgeous spots to take photos with the beautiful buildings in the background. As long as you can brave the blazing sun, you're guaranteed to get some amazing, once-in-a-lifetime shots.

Your final stop should be exploring the French Village. I've skipped over quite a few things here—like the transit routes, specific paths, indoor buildings, and even mini-games. Since I'm just giving you a high-level overview today, just mentally prepare yourself for an absolute adventure!

Did you know they have an official app? I downloaded the Ba Na Hills app and tried using its map navigation, but it really only shows where you currently are. Finding your way to a specific spot is super frustrating. While app navigation is a lifesaver at Disneyland, at Ba Na Hills, it's a total flop!

To wrap things up, we went for a ride on the Alpine Coaster (luge). The line gets pretty long in the afternoon, so we waited about an hour, and the whole ride took around 15 minutes.

Near the luge boarding area, you'll find the cable car route heading back down to Da Nang. Keep in mind that from 2:00 PM onwards, the lines get incredibly long with everyone trying to head back.

Since the wait times easily run over 30 minutes, and the cable car ride itself takes another 30-plus minutes, you should plan on spending at least half a day to fully experience Ba Na Hills.

Make sure to check the weather before you head up to Ba Na Hills! If it's rainy or foggy, forget about seeing the Golden Bridge—you won't even be able to see the giant stone hands. The lush forests will vanish into thin air, and you'll feel like you're wandering through a spooky ghost town. If the forecast looks bad, it's honestly better to pivot and explore another spot instead.
Wow... I had so many photos and so much to share about Ba Na Hills! I hope this guide helps you plan your adventure.
While you can hail a taxi like I did, communication barriers and watching the clock can add unnecessary stress to your trip. If you're traveling in a group of two or more, I highly recommend booking a tour package in advance for a completely hassle-free journey.
