From the 8th-floor rooftop of The Athens Gate Hotel,
the mesmerizing Acropolis night view ✨
Our itinerary was packed, leaving little time at the hotel,
so we opted for a room without a view. However,
the night view from the rooftop, enjoyed with a refreshing beer,
was so unforgettable, I felt compelled to document it separately.
When we returned to Athens after our Meteora tour,
it was already well past 10:00 PM.
Having been on the go all day, both of us were nearly drained,
but it was our last night in Athens, and we couldn't miss
the famous rooftop at The Athens Gate Hotel!
I vividly remember my partner and I hopping back into the elevator, determined.
The Athens Gate Hotel Rooftop: Night Views at 11:00 PM
It was almost 11:00 PM,
We followed the sign by the elevator up to the
8th-floor Roof Garden Bar·Restaurant.
Inside, there was a restaurant area with tables,
but we settled into an outdoor spot with a direct view of the Acropolis.
After browsing the menu via QR code,
we ordered a Mythos Greek Lager and a Pikri' Greek Indian Pale Ale 🍺.
The Acropolis glowed brightly, illuminated by spotlights.
If we hadn't made it up to the rooftop despite our exhaustion,
we would have regretted it forever!
Even though we chose a room without a view at The Athens Gate Hotel,
being able to enjoy the Athens cityscape from the rooftop was incredibly convenient.
For our schedule, this cost-effective choice was absolutely perfect!

The Temple of Olympian Zeus, visible from our Acropolis View Hotel
The grand columned ruins visible on the opposite side of the Acropolis
are those of the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
Located directly across from The Athens Gate Hotel,
we could look down from the rooftop and see the long-standing temple columns
peeking between the road and the Athens city lights.
From one side of the rooftop, you see the Acropolis,
and from the other, the Temple of Zeus and even
Hadrian's Arch. To be able to admire Athens' main landmarks from the hotel
is truly amazing — definitely a top spot for city views! ✨

a foreign couple next to us asked us to take their picture, haha!
Thanks to them, we also got some photos of ourselves.
These little episodes, like taking photos for each other while traveling,
made the trip even more enjoyable. 🤍
Athens Hotel Breakfast: Breakfast Boxes for Early Mornings
We had booked our stay with breakfast included,
but one morning we had an early Meteora tour,
and on our checkout day, we had to leave at dawn
to catch the ferry to Mykonos.
Since both days made it impossible to go up to the rooftop
during breakfast hours, we requested Breakfast Boxes in advance.
If you informed them the day before,
you could pick them up at your desired time the next morning!
The Athens Gate Hotel is also famous for its
Acropolis-view rooftop breakfast, so I was really looking forward to that.
It was such a shame we missed it! ㅠㅠ
If I had known, I would have planned a more relaxed Athens itinerary.
Even though we missed the rooftop breakfast,
the Breakfast Box was quite substantial and thoughtfully put together,
making for a unique and delicious start to our day! ✨

After exploring the Acropolis night views from the hotel rooftop
on the night we returned from the Meteora monasteries tour,
we wrapped up our last night in Athens beautifully.
The next morning, we set off at dawn to catch the ferry to Mykonos!
