Following last year's memorable visit, my family and I returned for the Andong Wolyeongyaheng Night Festival in 2026! We kicked off our adventure on the very first day, Friday, August 1st.
If you're planning a trip to Andong, timing your visit during the Wolyeongyaheng Festival, running from August 1st to August 10th, is a must! You'll get to experience the stunning Wolyeonggyo Bridge and the vibrant Wolyeong Market in a truly unique and joyful way.

On the opening day of the Wolyeongyaheng Festival, we were lucky enough to find parking right in front of the venue. After getting out of the car, we took a leisurely stroll across Wolyeonggyo Bridge towards the Wolyeong Market, where the main festivities were unfolding.
Wolyeonggyo Bridge
Midway across Wolyeonggyo Bridge, there's a popular photo zone featuring a beautiful full moon-shaped lantern. It's always bustling with people waiting to capture that perfect shot!
Even on regular nights, many visitors come to admire the enchanting beauty of Wolyeonggyo Bridge.
The full moon lantern continuously changes colors, adding to the spectacle.
Wolyeong Market
Numerous local vendors lined the market, showcasing a delightful array of specialty products and crafts.
Perhaps due to the warm August evening, the gelato stand had the longest line – a testament to how refreshing it must be!
Many visitors were taking a break in the cooling zone, enjoying their snacks and drinks.
There was even an energetic group jump rope event underway, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The famous Seonyu Yahwa (a traditional night time fire play) was beautifully recreated with dazzling lights.
Following the path to the innermost part of the venue, you'll find a stage where captivating performances take place. It was the same fantastic show as last year, offered free on a first-come, first-served basis. I even recalled getting a souvenir here last year – such a lovely memory!
Experience Zone
There was a dedicated zone where kids (and adults!) could try out various traditional folk games, which was a huge hit for families.
Despite the balmy summer night, the festival grounds were buzzing with people happily enjoying the festivities.
The night view of Wolyeonggyo Bridge, enjoyed alongside the festival, was just as magnificent as I remembered.

In the middle of the festival grounds, they were handing out free fans. Make sure to grab one when you visit – they're a lifesaver on a warm evening!
After enjoying a delightful dinner, we took a leisurely stroll around the festival, soaking in the ambiance and making wonderful family memories.
