If you're planning to visit the Andong Mask Dance Festival,
I highly recommend booking your accommodation in advance.
When I was traveling in Andong myself,
I did quite a bit of research on where to stay.
Since I wasn't just planning to see the festival,
but also to explore Wolyeonggyo Bridge, Jjimdak Alley, and Hahoe Folk Village,
the location of my stay was really important.

The place I stayed at opened in April 2026,
and it's the Hound Hotel Andong Culture Street Branch.
Being a new build, clean rooms are a given,
but they also offer so much more than I expected, from free breakfast and late-night snacks to washers and dryers.
It's truly a highly recommended place to stay in Andong! :)
1. Andong Mask Dance Festival Accommodation Recommendation

Check-in 5 PM / Check-out 12 PM |
Hound Hotel Andong Culture Street Branch was in a great location
for exploring the main tourist attractions.
Wolyeonggyo Bridge is about a 7-minute drive,
Andong Galbi Alley and Jjimdak Alley are about a 5-minute drive,
and Hahoe Folk Village is about 30 minutes away.
This makes it a perfect place for a 2-day, 1-night trip to Andong.

Especially during the Mask Dance Festival period,
finding accommodation can be quite a challenge.
It's also about a 3-minute drive from the Mask Dance Festival venue,
so if you're planning to enjoy the festival and then head to Jjimdak Alley for dinner,
I recommend considering the travel routes along with your accommodation choice.

The parking lot can accommodate a total of 20 cars,
and one car can be parked per room.
During the festival period, rooms can fill up quickly,
so it's easiest to first check for available rooms on your travel dates..!

2. Why I Chose Hound Hotel

What I was most satisfied with here was
of course, how impeccably clean it was, as expected from a new hotel that opened in April 2026!

The bathroom condition, in particular, was absolutely pristine.
They even provided bath bombs when I checked in,
and after walking all day at Hahoe Folk Village,
taking a warm bath felt like all my fatigue just melted away, haha.

Another thing that subtly impressed me was that
the room not only had a hairdryer but also
a hair straightener!
Three bottles of mineral water and basic disposable amenities were also provided,
and if you needed more, you could get extra from the first floor.
Plus, they even had Diptyque perfume available on the first floor – such a thoughtful touch...!

Every room comes with an LG Styler and
an enormous 85-inch Samsung TV,
and you can watch all your favorite OTT services like Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, TVING, Wavve, and more!
There are outlets on both sides of the bed,
and even a C-type charger, which was incredibly convenient for me
since I always have so many devices to charge while traveling.

The free breakfast and late-night snacks were incredibly satisfying!
Semi-buffet breakfast is available from 07:00 to 09:00,
in the dining room on B1 (Basement 1).
With options like sandwiches, American hot dogs,
fried eggs, and even Han River Ramyeon,
it was definitely enough to fuel up before a day of exploring.

The dining room itself is open until 11 PM,
so you can also grab late-night noodles like Ramyeon, Jjapaghetti, or Buldak Bokkeum Myeon! So convenient!
There's also a microwave, water purifier, and ice available,
and you can use the washing machine and dryer for free,
which is incredibly useful if you're on a long trip.
3. Affordable Price Comparison

I stayed in a Premium Room.
Hound Hotel offers not only standard rooms,
but also rooms with massage chairs or jacuzzis,
and if you're looking to lower the cost,
they even have dormitory options, so there's a wide range of choices to fit your budget.
Premium Room | Price | Booking Link |
Agoda | ~$60 | |
Trip.com | ~$79 | |
Price Difference | ~$19 | - |
I didn't just look at the room price alone;
I considered the total value, including breakfast, late-night snacks, and laundry facilities.

If you consider buying breakfast out
and paying for coin laundry separately,
those costs and time can really add up.
Being able to take care of everything within the hotel
was surprisingly convenient and saved so much hassle.

There's also a private cinema room in the basement,
where you can request mirroring to watch any content you like at the front desk.
However, my room's TV was already huge,
so I just relaxed and streamed OTT content there, haha.
And the rooftop cafeteria is beautifully decorated too!

So, who would I recommend this to?
Those looking for accommodation during the Andong Maskdance Festival,
travelers who prioritize clean, newly built places,
and family travelers who want to sort everything from breakfast to parking in one go
will find this hotel particularly excellent.

With an LG Styler in every room, it's also a great recommendation for an Andong trip
during the autumn and winter months.
If you're planning to visit during the Andong Maskdance Festival,
instead of just comparing prices and potentially missing out on your preferred room,
make sure to quickly check if rooms are available for your travel dates first..!
