As the autumn breeze starts to cool, it's time for Gyeongbuk's signature festival,

The 2026 Andong International Maskdance Festival!

I made sure to be there right on its opening day.

With venues spread across Maskdance Park, Jungangseon 1942 Andong Station,

Old Downtown, and Hahoe Folk Village – four expansive locations in total –

it felt a bit overwhelming at first. But don't worry, focusing mainly on Maskdance Park

makes for a perfectly fulfilling one-day itinerary.

the captivating indoor exhibitions, and the Traditional Liquor Fair,

Let's face it, parking can be the most stressful part of any festival experience.

But fear not! I found a fantastic spot: **street parking directly across from Uniqlo Andong Branch,**

just a 3-minute walk from the Maskdance Park main entrance. That's where I parked!

The parking area was spacious, and it seemed like not many people knew about it,

because I managed to park without any waiting whatsoever!

To reach Maskdance Park, you simply cross one crosswalk,

and you're right there!

It led directly into the 2026 Andong Traditional Liquor Fair.

Mellowtrip Tip: If you're heading for this street parking spot, setting your navigation to Uniqlo Andong Branch is far more accurate than searching for the 'Andong Maskdance Park Public Parking Lot.' Trust me on this one!

My Tasting Experience (for Adults!)

This year, the 2026 Andong Traditional Liquor Fair, held right within Maskdance Park,

was surprisingly rich and well-curated!

From stunning celadon bottles shaped like the iconic Hahoe masks to sleek, modern glass designs,

the Andong Soju package lineup was beautifully displayed.

Even better, there was a special tasting corner for adults, offering samples by alcohol percentage!

Due to driving, I could only enjoy the aromas, but my wife got to sample a variety of products with different alcohol content.

She raved about how many truly unique and flavorful options there were.

An Instagram family photo event was happening on-site,

and after participating, we received adorable Andong Soju mini glasses and

some delightful snack merchandise!

These little, thoughtful events really add to the charm of an outdoor festival, don't they?

If you're visiting with minors, I recommend skipping the tasting corner

and focusing on the fascinating exhibitions instead.

World Mask Exhibition Hall & Global Booths

Once you pass through the main gate, past the grand tiled roof and vibrant blue banners,

you'll instantly be greeted by the sounds of music and the bustling main stage, marking the official start of the festival!

If you're wondering where to head first, especially with kids,

I highly recommend starting with the **World Mask Exhibition Hall**.

With spotlights illuminating the wooden display cases,

each mask's texture truly came alive.

Being able to compare Korean traditional masks (tal) with those from various Asian countries

made it a fantastic educational experience for kids too.

There are plenty of benches indoors, making it a great spot to rest.

Right next door, at the Sabah Cultural House from Malaysia,

you could browse and purchase a variety of unique items.

It was a real treat!

Prices ranged from ~$2 to ~$15, so they were really affordable.

I bought a fabric pouch for my GoPro case for ~$2, and some coffee and green tea for ~$7.

The value for money was fantastic!
