I stumbled upon Andong Punggyeong Hostel n LIBRARY!

Since it's a hostel, I initially thought

there would only be dorm-style rooms shared with multiple people,

but they actually offer single rooms, double rooms,

and even separate rooms for families,

which gave me a great range of options.

At breakfast, I noticed many international travelers,

so if you're a solo traveler like me, looking to save on accommodation costs

but still need your private space,

this is an absolutely amazing value-for-money place I highly recommend!

Recommended Budget Accommodation in Andong

When I travel solo, I usually don't spend a lot on accommodation

where I'm just sleeping.

In the past, I've chosen places based solely on price

and ended up uncomfortable due to shared bathrooms, so this time,

having a private space was really important to me.

Andong Punggyeong Hostel has a private bathroom in each room,

you can even spot cats around the building, and they have single rooms –

I was so satisfied!

Since there were many international guests, I looked it up

and found the cheapest rates on Agoda!

There are a few parking spaces right in front of the hostel,

If the parking lot is full, you can simply park on the shoulder below and walk up!

During check-in, the staff member kindly walked me through all the important details for using the facilities!

Definitely a good idea to snap a quick photo of these details while they're explaining them!

Here are the room layouts for each floor! You'll find a water purifier and microwave on the 3rd floor, and a washing machine on the 4th!

One minor drawback I found was that you have to take the stairs up to your room.

If you're traveling with a suitcase, you'll have to carry it up yourself, which might be a bit challenging if your luggage is heavy.

A Look Inside My Single Room

Before heading into the room area, you take off your shoes, and I think that's why the floors were incredibly clean!

The single room was just the right size for a solo traveler. While it's not a fancy hotel suite, it was perfectly comfortable and had everything I needed to sleep, freshen up, and unwind.

I tried to capture the overall vibe of the single room, and it looks exactly like what you see in the pictures!

What I loved was the lighting – a mix of main and indirect lights – which made it super cozy and easy on the eyes when I was unwinding at night.

The room even has a TV where you can stream Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and more!

I definitely lost track of time just relaxing and watching my favorite shows.

There's a hairdryer and a mini-fridge (just a heads-up, no freezer compartment!).

But the absolute best part? Each room comes with its own private bathroom!

When you're traveling solo, constantly trekking to a shared bathroom can be a bit of a hassle. Being able to shower right in my room made things so much more comfortable and convenient!

However, a quick heads-up about disposable amenities!

The room notice mentioned that due to government environmental guidelines, an extra charge applies if you use the disposable amenities provided in the bathroom.

So, I definitely recommend bringing your own toothbrush and any other toiletries you might need.

Breakfast & Treats On-Site

Breakfast Delights

Having free breakfast was a huge plus for value for money!

Honestly, I didn't expect much, but it was surprisingly well-prepared and served, making it perfect for a quick and easy breakfast.

The salad selection was a definite 'wow' factor!

Who would have thought I'd find fresh tomatoes and sweet pumpkin at breakfast? What a delightful surprise!

Boiled eggs, cereal, toast, milk, juice, and more –

it was a complete spread with nothing missing!

Finding a breakfast spot while traveling can be quite a task, right?

Since you can eat right at the hostel and head out immediately,

it saved me a lot of time!

Food Available for Purchase On-Site

However, outside of breakfast hours,

the 1st floor cafe isn't a space that guests can just use freely.

The 1st floor of Andong Punggyeong Hostel operates as a book cafe,

selling cafe beverages, desserts, and even meal options.

The notice stated that only patrons who ordered a drink from the 1st floor cafe

were allowed to use the space.

If you want to spend time on the 1st floor,

you should plan on ordering from the menu available on-site.

And if you head up to the 3rd floor common area,

you'll find basic convenience foods for sale.

Items like instant ramen, Hetbahn (pre-cooked rice), and instant curry are available.

You just pay on the 1st floor and then enjoy!

Other On-Site Details

If you're staying for a few days, the laundry facilities are quite useful.

There was a top-load washing machine inside,

and even detergent and fabric softener were provided.

All those clothes you accumulate while traveling!

It was so convenient to take care of them right at the hostel.

The microwave and water dispenser are located on the 2nd floor,

making it easy to prepare simple meals or get water.

And each floor's common area

was decorated with such a great vibe!

Especially on the 4th floor, there's a leg massager,

which was absolutely perfect for relieving fatigue!

And CATS!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, when you first enter Andong Punggyeong Hostel,

the smell isn't exactly pleasant for an accommodation,

and that's because there's a cat room...!

So, if you have a cat allergy,

definitely keep that in mind when considering your stay.

Overall Review

Based on my personal experience staying there,

Andong Punggyeong Hostel & Library

was a perfect fit, especially for solo travelers who don't want to spend a lot on accommodation.

You can choose a single room, and it even has a private bathroom, along with

essential facilities for travel like free breakfast, a washing machine, a microwave, and a water dispenser.

It truly has everything you need!

Just keep in mind that you'll need to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself,

the 11 PM access curfew was a slight drawback,

and disposable amenities come with an extra charge,

so it's a good idea to bring your own toiletries.

If you're looking to enjoy the benefits of hostel pricing

while still having your own private room and bathroom,

then it's definitely worth checking out and comparing!
