Uncover Andong's rich history and natural beauty in one day! This guide takes you through the UNESCO Hahoe Folk Village, serene Byeongsan Seowon, and more.

Planning a trip to Andong can be a bit overwhelming, can't it?
Andong is surprisingly rich in attractions, making it tricky to craft a perfect day trip itinerary that flows well.

That's why I realized it's crucial to pick a few must-see spots and plan your Andong day trip itinerary carefully in advance.
I recently visited with my parents, so I prioritized manageable walking distances and travel times. If you're facing similar planning dilemmas, I'd love to share the Andong day trip itinerary my family and I enjoyed. It might just be the perfect guide for your own adventure!

Hahoe Folk Village → Byeongsan Seowon → Buyongdae Cliff
Our Andong day trip itinerary naturally kicked off at the iconic Andong Hahoe Folk Village.
It's usually the first stop for most visitors to Andong, and for good reason!

As a UNESCO World Heritage site, the entire village exudes a serene charm, making it an ideal place for a leisurely stroll among traditional Korean hanok houses.

It was larger than I expected, but the paths were mostly flat, which made for a comfortable walk for my parents.

We spent about 2-3 hours here, enjoying the stroll and catching a performance of the Hahoe Byeolsingut Talnori (mask dance drama).
After exploring Hahoe Village, we drove for about 10 minutes to reach Andong Byeongsan Seowon, another historical gem.

Byeongsan Seowon was arguably the highlight of our Andong tour for my parents – they were absolutely captivated!

The panoramic view from Mandaeru Pavilion is simply breathtaking; just gazing at it felt incredibly restorative.

The gentle slopes make it easy for all ages to navigate, so I highly recommend including it in your Andong travel plans.

And if you want to capture the entire vista of Hahoe Folk Village from above, don't miss Buyongdae Cliff!

For lunch, we chose Gilpung, a highly-rated restaurant conveniently located near Andong Hahoe Folk Village.
We savored Andong Jjimdak (braised chicken) and ganjang godeungeo (salted mackerel). The flavors were wonderfully balanced, not overly spicy or strong, and the clean side dishes made for a delightful meal for our whole family.
It truly felt like a relaxing, satisfying meal that showcased Andong's unique culinary touch – a perfect break during our day trip.

After exploring Andong Hahoe Folk Village and its surroundings, we headed into Andong city center and found a lovely spot called Cafe La Classe Bin.
Its spacious and comfortable atmosphere was perfect for unwinding and shaking off any travel fatigue.

We settled into seats by the expansive windows, enjoying refreshing iced Americanos while chatting and taking in the stunning panoramic views of the Nakdong River.
Though our time there was brief, it was an excellent spot to pause and recharge during our Andong adventure.

Our Andong day trip itinerary concluded with a magical evening stroll across Wolyeonggyo Bridge.

When illuminated at night, Wolyeonggyo transforms, offering a dazzling charm completely different from its daytime appearance. And if you time it right, you might even catch the spectacular fountain show! It's truly a place to soak in a magnificent night view.

Among all the places to visit in Andong, I can't imagine a better spot to wrap up your day than with this enchanting nightscape.

Andong is quite expansive, and it's easy to get carried away trying to see everything. However, for a relaxing Andong day trip with family, visiting about 4-5 spots feels just right.
You don't need to rush to fully immerse yourself in Andong's unique atmosphere, and the pace is perfectly manageable.
Beyond the spectacular sights, the true joy of this Andong trip was simply walking alongside loved ones, sharing delicious food, and enjoying cool coffee over heartfelt conversations.

That, for me, was the real magic of our Andong adventure.
Why not plan a leisurely Andong day trip with your special people this upcoming weekend? I hope the itinerary I've shared today helps make your journey a truly happy one.
