While preparing for my adventure to Almaty, Kazakhstan,

the very first thing on my mind wasn't

tourist attractions, but how to get there – flights!

You see, Almaty isn't a destination with a super high frequency of flights,

unlike places like Japan or Southeast Asia. So, naturally, I found myself wondering:

Would it be better to fly from Incheon?

Are there direct flights from Busan too?

Which airlines operate?

Is luggage included?

These were the key questions I needed to answer first.

For fellow explorers like me, diving into their first Almaty trip,

I'll be sharing a comprehensive guide below on how to find the perfect flights,

including everything from airline options to direct routes!

1. Direct Airlines to Almaty

These are the airlines currently offering direct routes from Korea to Almaty, Kazakhstan. It's great to know your options!

2. Flights Departing from Busan

Eastar Jet operates twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.

This time, while researching flights to Almaty,

I was excited to notice that direct flights from Busan have become available!

In fact, I departed from Busan myself!

Comparing it to the Incheon route,

Busan was about ~$151 cheaper – a significant saving!

No more long commutes from Busan to Incheon just to catch your flight to Almaty!

Now, you can fly directly from Busan, which is a game-changer.

Especially if you're departing from the Busan, Ulsan, or Gyeongnam regions,

it's definitely worth comparing both Busan and Incheon departures to find your best deal!

The Busan-Almaty route typically starts from around ~$497.

🔻Do note that as of now, this route is primarily bookable up until October🔻

This is based on a 5-day itinerary,

and prices will always fluctuate depending on the travel season,

so I highly recommend checking the latest fares for your specific dates!

However, this particular flight ticket, as shown,

does not include checked baggage for your outbound journey.

If you're considering Eastar Jet for your Almaty adventure,

make sure to double-check whether checked baggage is included! It's an important detail!

If you opt to add checked baggage,

the ticket price comes to around ~$580.

3. Flights Departing from Incheon

With three airlines currently operating direct flights from Incheon to Almaty,

you'll have even more fantastic options to choose from!

Air Astana, Asiana Airlines, and Eastar Jet –

this means you can easily compare prices among these three carriers!

Based on a 5-day trip with direct routes,

Asiana Airlines offers incredibly affordable prices.

However, for Eastar Jet,

you need to double-check if checked baggage is included!
