While looking into a festival happening in Zhuhai, China,

I was researching where to go,

and stumbled upon a place that just wouldn't leave my mind.

I'm posting about it while debating whether to go or not, haha 😅

Hotels are affordable, it's close to Macau,

and there are actually quite a few places to see and explore.

Zhuhai (珠海), China, is located

just north of Macau,

and it's only an hour away from Guangzhou or Macau.

Ways to get there include:

1) Taking a bus from Macau

2) Taking a high-speed train from Guangzhou

3) Taking a car (or train is also possible) from Shenzhen

Also, Macau hotels are expensive because it's a special administrative region like Hong Kong.

But if you cross over to Zhuhai, just an hour away,

hotels are more affordable since it's mainland China. So, it's great to visit both by staying here!

and while searching for places,

Even if I have to travel like a pauper for the rest of the trip,

I decided I *had* to go here ^.,^

Since it's located on Dong'ao Island, even within Zhuhai,

you'll need to travel

✔️ by ferry from Hengqin Port for 30-40 minutes to reach it.

I, rather naively, thought about flying into Guangzhou Airport, but

when my Chinese friend heard my plan,

they asked why I was flying there when Macau was so close!

When I mentioned Macau flights were expensive, they suggested flying into Shenzhen (Shenzhen)

Airport instead.

And trust me, dear fellow travelers, using Shenzhen Airport is genuinely,

*seriously* budget-friendly!

A one-way ticket is roughly ~$73!

If Incheon-Macau flights are too pricey, I highly recommend looking into flying via Shenzhen Airport.
