Planning a trip to Tokyo? While a day trip to Kamakura is always an option, to truly soak in the beauty of both Enoshima and Kamakura, we highly recommend an overnight stay or longer. Choosing your accommodation near either Fujisawa Station or Kamakura Station is ideal, and for my recent visit, I opted for **8hotel**, conveniently located right in front of Fujisawa Station.
This fantastic hotel comes with breakfast included and offers excellent value, making it my top pick for a Kamakura area stay!

1. 8 HOTEL Overview

The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from **Enoden Fujisawa Station**, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Kamakura and Enoshima. You'll also find shopping malls and grocery stores within a 1-2 minute walk, along with Lawson, 7-Eleven, and FamilyMart convenience stores nearby.
What's even better is that the ✔️ **JR Fujisawa Station** is only a 2-minute walk away, providing direct access to central Tokyo areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya. This dual access is a game-changer for travelers!

The entrance of 8hotel features a lovely outdoor space, perfect for enjoying a beer on a nice day.

The front desk staff spoke excellent English, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. Before heading up to my room, I grabbed some amenities and various tea selections from the display right in front of the elevator.

Currently, Agoda offers slightly lower prices, but keep an eye on Trip.com as well! With special deals or a 3% discount code, you might find an even better rate. It's always a good idea to compare both sites before booking!
2. Room Condition

One of the best surprises at 8hotel was how spacious the room was – a welcome change from the often compact rooms found in Japanese hotels! I could fully open my 24-inch suitcase on the floor without any issues, and there was still plenty of space to move around. It felt comfortable enough for even a month-long stay.

There was a dedicated space with hangers for coats and a spot for shoes, which helped keep the room tidy and comfortable throughout my stay.

The double bed was comfortable for one person, and there was a separate desk area that was perfect for keeping my belongings organized. As someone who frequently uses a laptop while traveling, the ample desk space at 8hotel was a major plus! Both the bedside and desk areas had power outlets, making it easy to charge devices or use a hair straightener.

The mini-fridge contained one bottle of water, likely because I booked for a single person. A mirror and tissues were also provided.

There was a TV, but it only showed Japanese channels. Honestly, with so much to explore in Kamakura and Enoshima, I never even turned it on!
3. Bathroom

Another pleasant surprise at 8hotel was the bathroom – it was larger than the average Japanese hotel bathroom! Those airplane-like bathrooms in Japan can sometimes feel a bit cramped, so having a more spacious and comfortable bathroom definitely enhanced my Kamakura and Enoshima trip.

The bathroom was well-stocked with hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toner, body wash, toothbrushes, and a dental cup. Towels were provided according to the number of guests. For other items like cotton swabs, you can pick them up freely from the amenity station on the first floor.

The hairdryer was conveniently located in a pouch on the shelf outside the bathroom.
4. Breakfast Delights

8hotel truly shines with its breakfast, which is included in the room rate – a definite bonus! Upon check-in, you receive a breakfast ticket, which you simply present at the dining area on the first floor.

While the menu isn't overwhelmingly vast, it offers a great selection of simple and satisfying breakfast items. You'll find things like fish cake, salad, eggs, sausages, rice, curry, natto, tempura, and potato salad. The offerings seemed to change slightly each day, which was a nice touch.

The food was perfectly seasoned and easy to enjoy, but the real star was the curry – it was so delicious, easily on par with a standalone curry restaurant! Forget searching for a Kamakura curry spot, this hotel has you covered. The combination of curry and okra was surprisingly good; I usually don't care for okra, but it tasted amazing with the curry!

The next day, some of the dishes had changed, but the delicious curry was still there, so I happily had two servings! This truly is the place for a fantastic curry breakfast in Kamakura.

While a day trip to Kamakura and Enoshima is fun, staying for at least one night allows you to explore at a more relaxed pace and even experience the beautiful evening atmosphere of Kamakura that many day-trippers miss. With its delicious breakfast, especially that amazing curry, 8hotel comes highly recommended for your Kamakura adventure!
