Fukuoka Tenjin Hotel Recommendation

On my Japan travels, I've always wanted to try a different kind of accommodation than a typical hotel. While I usually lean towards hotels over Airbnb or apartment-style stays, sometimes you just crave something fresh and unique. That's exactly how I stumbled upon ZONK Hotel Nakasu.

It's an apartment-style accommodation in Fukuoka, Japan. The surrounding area truly feels like a local residential neighborhood, adding to its charm.

Check-in is entirely self-service, and there's no formal check-out process, making it incredibly convenient.

It feels like an Airbnb

Instead of a physical key, the room uses a digital door lock, with the code provided at check-in. I stayed alone in a standard room, but it seemed set up for four people, as there were slippers and towels for that many.

The sofa was surprisingly large; you could easily sleep on it.

Four guests might be the maximum, but with the bed and the sofa, three people could comfortably spread out.

The bathroom with the tub felt a bit cramped, but the sink area next to the toilet offered a bit more space. (Amenities seemed limited to just toothbrushes).

There was also a microwave and a small kitchen, though I didn't use them as I wasn't planning on cooking.

If I had to pick a downside, bottled water wasn't provided for free. It was available for purchase at about ~$1, payable via QR code, but I just grabbed some from a convenience store before heading in.

Bonus: LP Turntable and Massage Chair

What truly impressed me was the LP player and a selection of vinyl records. It was fully functional, and playing some mellow tunes created a wonderful ambiance. It was my first time actually using a turntable, which made it a fun and memorable experience.

And to top it off, there's even a massage chair! It's the perfect setup: put on some vinyl and relax in the massage chair.

Located between Tenjin and Hakata, it's conveniently close to Cross Life, another popular hotel in Fukuoka, Japan.

It's also near the Naka River, which boasts a good number of appealing bars and restaurants along its banks. Plus, there are plenty of spots to explore on the way to Tenjin, making its accessibility quite excellent.

After staying here, I'd say this Fukuoka Tenjin accommodation is better suited for friends or groups rather than solo travelers. With a kitchen, a massage chair, and a sofa that can double as an extra bed, it's well-equipped for multiple guests.
