When you think of Chinese food, does 'Hotpot' immediately spring to mind for many of you?
But for all you foodies out there, or those eager to dive into a unique culinary experience,
you're probably dreaming of a hotpot adventure with a diverse array of ingredients.
Today, for anyone traveling to Qingdao, China, and searching for an incredible **all-you-can-eat hotpot** experience,
I'm thrilled to introduce you to
**Yongge Hotpot, a must-visit restaurant in Qingdao**!

Yongge Hotpot 龍歌自助小火锅(市南银座店) Operating Hours: Daily 10:30~21:00 Location: 6th Floor, INZONE Mall, Qingdao Fushansuo Station, Exit C |

**Yongge Hotpot** is a chain, so you’ll find branches scattered across Qingdao.
The specific branch I visited is located on the **6th floor of INZONE Mall, near May Fourth Square**.
It's super convenient, just a 5-minute taxi ride away.

When I visited, you could enjoy **all-you-can-eat hotpot for 54.9 Chinese Yuan per person, which was approximately ~$8**!
You can actually check this kind of information even before you arrive,
for example, on Dazhong Dianping, as shown below.

✅ I actually bought two single-person hotpot vouchers through the **Dazhong Dianping app**, and paid using the QR code directly to the staff before entering!
If you find the process a bit tricky, simply show the screen to a staff member,
and they'll be happy to assist you with the payment.

Even though we arrived during peak dinner time, there was no wait,
though people started to flock in shortly after we found our seats!
As we entered, we were handed two pairs of chopsticks and a cute number tag.

Inside Yongge Hotpot, you'll find conveyor belts woven throughout the dining area, between the tables.
It's just like a conveyor belt sushi restaurant,
and true to mainland scale, the conveyor belt stretches quite a distance!
You simply pick whatever ingredients catch your eye from the many options gliding along the belt,
and then cook them in your very own personal hotpot.

Off to one side, there's a fantastic DIY sauce bar where you can craft your perfect dipping concoctions.
Personally, I highly recommend whipping up two kinds: a rich sesame paste sauce and a savory soy sauce,
to alternate between for an explosion of flavors!
I usually load mine up with plenty of minced garlic and green onions,
but start by making small batches and experimenting,
until you find your perfect flavor combination!

You can also help yourself to various drinks and desserts.
Staying true to its Chinese roots, they had a wide array of drinks, including many types of tea!
The ingredients on Yongga Hotpot's conveyor belt were incredibly diverse, and there were so many unique items!
I was so excited to imagine what they would taste like once simmered in the hotpot broth.

Basic ingredients like napa cabbage, bok choy, mushrooms, tofu skin, fried tofu,
fish cakes, and Youtiao were available.
(The fried chicken was surprisingly delicious!)

There were also marinated meats, webfoot octopus, fish,
shellfish, and fish balls.
They even had duck blood, which can be a hit or miss for some.
(By the way, duck blood is surprisingly tasty!)

Meats like pork and beef were present, alongside
carbohydrates like chestnuts, sweet potatoes, and even mini hamburgers.
It was fun to see even dessert items circulating on the belt!
Also, since one full rotation takes over 3 minutes,
I recommend grabbing plenty of meat items when you see them.

And guess what? Yongga Hotpot also has frog, just like Haidilao!
It tastes similar to chicken, so if you're feeling adventurous,
give it a try!

First, before you dig in, make sure to prepare the various sauces I mentioned earlier.

As a pair, we chose different broth bases: one tomato soup and one mala soup.
Since each person gets their own pot, it's perfect for trying out different broths!

You can freely adjust the heat intensity using the buttons beneath your table.
Start with high heat, then gradually reduce it once the broth comes to a boil.

I started by adding vegetables to infuse the broth with flavor.
Although the individual pot is small, it was incredibly convenient to enjoy all my desired ingredients entirely on my own.

I think I picked up pork and beef the most from the conveyor belt.
The meat was thinly sliced, so it cooked quickly and was wonderfully tender.
Personally, the beef reminded me of brisket, and I was satisfied with both its texture and flavor!

I even tried some unique dishes that aren't easy to find,
like duck blood and frog.
Duck blood has a distinct chewy texture, different from Korean blood sausage (*seonji*),
and it really suited my taste!
I'd tried frog before at Haidilao, but having it again after a while,
it tasted quite similar to tender chicken.
However, I could still pick up a hint of freshwater fish flavor and aroma,
so I wasn't tempted to go for seconds!

There's often a stereotype that buffet restaurants have lackluster desserts,
but I found the ones here to be quite good!
From soft-serve ice cream and cream puffs to mini burgers,
they tasted much better than I expected.
The mini burgers, in particular, were perfect as a light meal,
not too heavy thanks to the pineapple!

Yongga Hotpot, a must-visit restaurant in Qingdao,
only operates until 9 PM.
So, I recommend arriving before 7 PM to enjoy a leisurely dinner.
We arrived before 6 PM,
but by 7 PM, there was already a wait!
If you want to avoid waiting, I suggest getting there a bit earlier, before 6 PM.
While it might not have the upscale flavor of Haidilao,
if you're looking for an all-you-can-eat hotpot with a variety of flavors,
Yongga Hotpot is a solid choice.
The ingredients were more varied than I expected, and even though I went without high expectations,
I left very satisfied.
If you're heading to Qingdao and craving hotpot,
I think it's definitely worth a visit!
