Looking for a family-friendly 5-star stay in Qingdao? The Yihai Garden Hotel offers spacious rooms, robot room service, and unbeatable value near MixC mall.

Where to Stay in Qingdao, China
Yihai Garden Hotel Review
When I first planned my trip to Qingdao,
I was completely set on staying at the Qingdao Time Resort (aka the Beer Resort).
I was so incredibly pumped for it...
But right after booking, I found out I was pregnant!
After a lot of back-and-forth, we decided to pivot to a more comfortable stay. 😭
Based on tons of glowing recommendations,
we ended up booking the Yihai Garden Hotel in Qingdao.
If you're currently debating where to stay in Qingdao,
I can't recommend this place enough.
I stayed here with my family, and everything from
the unbeatable location to the flawless room conditions and service
screamed true 5-star luxury.
It's right near the MixC mall, making shopping and dining a breeze,
and the evening city views are absolutely spectacular.
👍🏻 Pros ✅ Super friendly staff ✅ Spacious and quiet rooms ✅ Awesome kids' playroom on the 1st floor ✅ Smart robots deliver food right to your door 👎🏻 Cons ✅ Slight noise from neighboring rooms (Honestly, it was barely noticeable) |

Hotel Name: 青岛颐海花园酒店(五四广场店)
Address: 市南区-香港中路5号
The Yihai Garden Hotel is located right in the heart of Qingdao's commercial district,
near May Fourth Square and the MixC mall.
Public transportation is super accessible, and it's an easy ride
via the airport limousine bus or a quick taxi.

Since it's a brand-new hotel that opened in 2023,
the pristine cleanliness is a massive plus.
Being right on the main avenue means you can watch
the stunning night light shows straight from your room.
Despite the busy street outside, we heard almost zero street noise.

2. Basic Hotel Info
Hotel: Yihai Garden Hotel Qingdao
Room Type: Superior City View Twin Room
Check-in: 2:00 PM
Check-out: 12:00 PM
As you can see from the photos, the lobby
features a grand, classic interior design.
With its soaring ceilings and warm lighting,
it immediately gives off that premium 5-star vibe.

On one side of the lobby, there's a neat little section
with Tsingtao Beer souvenirs and a coffee bar.
You can grab self-serve coffee
and hot water, which was super handy during our trip.

While English wasn't widely spoken,
we had zero issues communicating
using translation apps like Papago.

Since we visited around the New Year,
they were handing out cute festive balloons to guests.

3. Room Condition
Right as you walk in, there's a spacious
closet and storage area.

They also left us some welcome fruit,
and the cherry tomatoes were unbelievably sweet.

We stayed in a Twin Room.
As you can tell from the photos, the room is massive
and gets incredible natural light. Even though it was winter,
the sunlight made the room feel wonderfully warm during the day.

There was plenty of space for our toddler to run around,
and having a proper table made eating our delivery food so much easier.

The view from the window is sweeping and grand,
and you can even catch a glimpse of the ocean in the distance!

The bathroom was spotless,
with the toilet, sink, and shower all nicely separated.
They provide single-use amenities,
and the hairdryer was surprisingly powerful—a big plus in my book.

The water pressure in the shower was fantastic
and it drained perfectly. There was even a
non-slip mat provided for safety.
They gave us plenty of towels,
and were more than happy to bring extras when we asked.

I was really touched that they provided special
kid-friendly amenities like tiny slippers, and a toothbrush/toothpaste set.
They thoughtfully stocked body wash and lotion for the little one,
making our two-night stay incredibly comfortable.

The minibar in the fridge was completely free, and extra bottled water
was available in the 1st-floor lobby
and by the elevators on every floor if we needed more.

We ordered food using the Meituan app.
You just input the hotel and your room number,
and a robot delivers it right to your door!
Right before it arrives, your room phone rings,
and when you open the door, this little robot is rolling up to greet you.

4. Hotel Amenities
Breakfast
Hours: 7:00 AM - 9:30 AM / 2nd Floor

The breakfast buffet offers a great mix of
local Chinese dishes and Western options, so there's something for everyone.
Since I wasn't feeling too adventurous with the local cuisine,
I mostly stuck to the Western menu and fresh fruit.

The pastries, coffee, and fruit were all delicious,
and my toddler happily munched on yogurt, fried rice, and boiled eggs
without any fuss.
To celebrate the New Year,
the staff cheerfully wished us a "Happy New Year"
and even gifted our child a cute little keychain :)

You can also order fresh wonton soup, which was great.

Kids Playroom
Hours: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM / 1st Floor
The kids' playroom inside the hotel is seriously impressive.
There's a ball pit, board games,
claw machines, an ice cream corner, and even some basic convenience snacks.
My kid was absolutely obsessed.

We had a minor hiccup trying to buy ice cream because we didn't have a local Chinese phone number,
but a staff member kindly stepped in to help us out,
and we got our treats without a hitch.

It really hit me just how much this hotel
goes out of its way to accommodate traveling families!!

Gym
Hours: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM / 3rd Floor
Guests also get free access to the fitness center.
I didn't get a chance to work out,
but it looked very clean and well-maintained.
They have weight machines, a ping-pong table,
and plenty of equipment for a solid workout.
