Here is an insider tip!
If you are in a group of 3 or more and order the Ginza or Premium Course,
you can add a free-flow drink package for an extra 300,000 VND (approx. ~$12) per person.
This includes unlimited Sapporo draft beer, highballs, and shochu!
I only wish they offered this deal for couples too.

For draft beer, they serve premium Sapporo,
along with a great selection of highballs, beer cocktails, chu-hi, and lemon sours.

Instead of the set course, we decided to go à la carte
so we could handpick our favorite skewers.
The variety of options is absolutely massive,
ranging from classic favorites to rare specialty cuts.
At Yakitori Ginza, they grill various parts of the chicken over charcoal right away,
allowing you to sample unique textures and flavors
that are hard to find in standard restaurants.
Here is a breakdown of the delicious skewers
we ordered for our feast.
Inside Yakitori Ginza: The Atmosphere

The layout replicates a traditional Tokyo yakitori joint.
The chefs grill everything in the central open kitchen
and serve each skewer directly onto your plate.

It is highly entertaining to watch the fresh ingredients
being meticulously turned over the glowing coals
right in front of your eyes.

The upscale yet cozy and quiet interior
makes it an incredible destination for a romantic date night.

We started off with a simple side of edamame.

They also serve fresh cabbage drizzled with a savory peanut sauce as a complimentary starter.
It is incredibly refreshing, and they gladly offer free refills!

And now, the star beverage: Sapporo draft beer! Cheers!

We happily gulped down several glasses of Sapporo.
At 79,000 VND (approx. ~$3) per glass, it is a fantastic deal.

We ended up ordering three glasses each—six in total!
There is nothing quite like a crisp, freshly poured draft beer to beat the Saigon heat.

First up: Crispy Chicken Skin (Kawa) and Chicken Neck (Seseri).

The chicken skin was perfectly rendered and shatteringly crisp,
while the deboned neck meat was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor.

We ordered two classic Chicken Thigh and Scallion (Negima) skewers
so we could each have our own. Absolutely delicious.

Next was the Chicken Liver (Reba).

Cooked to a perfect medium-rare,
it had a velvety, melt-in-your-mouth texture
that paired beautifully with the draft beer.

You simply cannot visit an izakaya without ordering Tsukune (chicken meatball).
We paid an extra 10,000 VND (approx. ~$0.40) to add a fresh egg yolk dip.

Pro tip: Definitely add the egg yolk!
It coats the tender, savory chicken meatball in a rich, velvety glaze.

We also decided to try the Chicken Tail (Bonjiri).

It has a wonderfully rich, fatty texture
reminiscent of Japanese gopchang (grilled intestines)—
a decadent burst of flavor in every bite!

For the grand finale, we ordered a classic Salt-Grilled Onigiri (Yaki Onigiri).
The exterior was beautifully toasted and crunchy.
But we couldn't resist ordering just two more skewers to wrap up the night!

Chicken Heart (Hatsu) on the left, and Chicken Gizzard (Sunagimo) on the right.
The incredibly snappy, chewy textures were the perfect end to our meal!

We filled our wooden skewer cup to the brim!

Whenever you crave authentic Japanese yakitori in Ho Chi Minh City,
Yakitori Ginza is the place to go.
With its intimate vibe, flawlessly grilled skewers, and fresh Sapporo draft beer,
it highlights why Saigon's diverse international culinary scene is so incredible!
