🇹🇼 Must-Visit in Taipei, Taiwan
Ximending is highly recommended for:
✔︎ Those who want to soak in the youthful vibe and vibrant street scenes of Taipei's iconic commercial district.
✔︎ Anyone looking to capture Instagram-worthy shots at Taipei's photo zones, featuring colorful signboards and rainbow crosswalks.
✔︎ Foodies eager to try Taiwan's must-eat dishes like intestines vermicelli and mango shaved ice.
As I mentioned above, Ximending is
one of Taipei's most prominent commercial districts,
a place where delicious food, shopping, and various sights
and entertainment options converge.
It's a place you'll definitely find yourself visiting if you travel to Taipei.
That's why I explored famous eateries, wandered the streets,
and captured some incredible photos at popular spots,
making my time there surprisingly fulfilling.
I arrived in Ximending in the evening, planning to grab dinner,
and the first thing that caught my eye upon arrival was
the dazzling streetscape, sparkling with bright signboards.
It felt similar to Myeongdong in Korea,
yet with Taiwan's unique colorful signboards and atmosphere added in,
I found myself instinctively taking photos with my phone as I walked.
Even without searching for a specific spot,
the street itself was a feast for the eyes. Just slowly strolling and observing
my surroundings was a wonderful experience. ❤️
When you think of Ximending, it's often associated with famous eateries for intestines vermicelli and mango shaved ice, or shopping.
So, I never expected to find an arcade.
But as I explored the streets, I discovered an arcade,
which was great for enjoying some games or just passing the time casually.
If you're looking for a little something more than just food and shopping,
I recommend taking a break at the arcade, maybe trying your hand at a claw machine.
It's a perfect way to momentarily relax and refresh.
Wondering what to have for dinner in Ximending?
Taiwan is known for its incredible food, so it's natural to wonder what to eat during your Taipei trip, right?
Personally, if you're in Ximending,
I highly recommend trying dinner at Ximen Mala Hotpot.
It's a famous Mala Hotpot restaurant in Ximending.
I didn't have high expectations because it's all-you-can-eat,
but the food quality turned out to be surprisingly good!
You can enjoy unlimited meat, various vegetables, noodles, and even alcohol.
And best of all, the ice cream for dessert
was Häagen-Dazs, so I could finish my meal perfectly with a sweet treat.
If you're looking for a satisfying dinner in Ximending,
it might be worth a visit.

If you're in Taiwan, Intestines Vermicelli is a must!
When it comes to a Taiwanese food trip, intestines vermicelli
always makes an appearance!
One of the reasons I wanted to revisit Taipei after my last trip
was precisely for Ah Zong Mian Xian's intestines vermicelli.
I remembered how incredibly delicious it was when I ate it before,
so when I visited again this time,
I wondered, 'Will it be as delicious as the first time?'
And just as I remembered, Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle was incredibly delicious!
With those slightly soft, comforting noodles and a surprisingly generous amount of chewy intestines,
along with that rich, flavorful broth,
it was a flavor that keeps calling you back for more once you've tried it!
If you're heading to Taiwan and want to truly dive into the local food scene,
I highly recommend you give intestine vermicelli a try at least once!

Another Unmissable Treat for Your Taiwan Trip: Mango Shaved Ice!
Along with intestine vermicelli, when you think of desserts on a Taiwan trip,
Mango Shaved Ice instantly springs to mind, right?
I visited Sanxiongmei Mango Shaved Ice in Ximending,
and the cool, sweet mango
along with the creamy, soft milk shaved ice, blended together perfectly.
It was absolutely perfect to enjoy after our Mala Hotpot feast.
Plus, if you visit during mango season,
you can savor mango shaved ice piled high with fresh, ripe mango.
So if you're a mango lover,
planning your Taipei adventure during mango season
would be an amazing idea!
By the way, Sanxiongmei also sells bubble tea,
and their bubble tea is really tasty.
It's a great accompaniment to the mango shaved ice, so keep that in mind!

When you think of a Taiwan trip, you absolutely can't forget bubble tea, can you?!
Taiwan is practically synonymous with bubble tea, isn't it?
Honestly, while exploring Taipei,
you'll find delicious bubble tea practically everywhere you go.
But if you're specifically seeking out a famous bubble tea spot in Ximending,
Xing Fu Tang is a popular choice for many.
I had bubble tea along with my mango shaved ice at Sanxiongmei,
so I didn't try a drink directly from Xing Fu Tang this time.
However, if you're searching for a renowned bubble tea shop in Ximending,
I'd still recommend checking out Xing Fu Tang as well.
Snap Your Travel Memories at the Rainbow Crosswalk!
After enjoying a delicious dinner in Ximending
and strolling through the lively streets, the final stop was
the iconic Rainbow Crosswalk!
It's one of Ximending's most famous photo spots, where leaving without a commemorative photo would be a real shame.
Once I saw it in person, the vibrant, colorful
rainbow hues of the crosswalk were just too beautiful,
I simply couldn't resist taking some vibrant travel photos! Haha.
It's a really popular photo spot, so expect a crowd,
but if you wait a little and keep snapping away,
you're bound to capture at least one picture you absolutely love.
So, if you find yourself in Ximending,
make sure to end your visit with some unforgettable travel photos at the Rainbow Crosswalk!
✔︎ My Taipei Ximending Travel Review
Ximending truly offers it all – from dazzling streetscapes and
fun entertainment like arcades, to
savoring a hearty dinner at Ximen Mala Hotpot, and
indulging in iconic Taiwanese treats like intestine vermicelli and mango shaved ice.
And to top it all off, you can grab those perfect travel photos at the Rainbow Crosswalk.
It's truly a place where you can experience food, sights, and fun
all in one go!
Especially if you're like me and plan to have meals,
enjoy desserts, and wander the streets all in Ximending,
it's much better to allow yourself about half a day rather than just 1-2 hours,
and take your time to explore.
If you're planning your Taipei adventure,
where you can indulge in delicious food and capture beautiful memories,
make sure to pay Ximending a visit!
