I originally visited this spot as part of a press tour, not really knowing what to expect for dinner. But once inside, I quickly realized it was a place frequented by many celebrities and well-known figures!

As I researched for this post, I discovered that Ximen Malahotpot is already a super famous all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant in Ximending. 🧡

No wonder it was so delicious and bustling with people! 🤣

The interior is even more spacious than these photos suggest, but this gives you a good idea of the vibe!

They have plenty of two-person tables, perfect for a trip with a friend, and larger tables that would comfortably accommodate families!

After settling in and choosing two soup bases, I headed off to grab ingredients and prepare my dipping sauce.

As my regular readers know, I'm not usually a huge fan of shabu-shabu (I prefer my meat grilled! ❤️). So, I just whipped up a sauce with whatever looked good, or perhaps I followed a recipe if one was posted nearby. (Honestly, it's a bit of a blur!)

As expected from a popular Ximending eatery, the selection of vegetables and seafood was incredibly vast!

So, after much deliberation, here's my first plate of goodies! ❤️

Wondering where the meat is? While there were some options at the self-serve stations,

the main meat selection was available for order via QR code from a separate menu.

After placing our order, they brought out these beautifully marbled cuts of meat, as you can see in the photos.

Into the simmering broth it goes! ❤️

All that's left is to dip it in the sauce we made and enjoy! While the mushrooms and seafood were excellent, I have to say, the meat was definitely my favorite. 👍🏻

And here's another fantastic perk, folks: the soft drinks AND alcohol are also unlimited here! ❤️

They even have a tea selection, which would be lovely after a meal, but let's be real, most of us are probably reaching for a drink or something stronger! ❤️ I just wanted to show you the tea options are there.

And the desserts here were surprisingly good too! ❤️

The fruits were perfectly sweet,

and the cakes looked absolutely delightful!

My absolute favorite dessert was the ice cream! 🍦

I definitely went back for seconds!

Personally, as someone who can't handle too much spice, the red Mala broth was a bit intense for me, so I preferred the white broth! It was absolutely delicious!
