Planning a Wuzhen getaway? This review of Wuzhen Eryou Homestay highlights its perfect blend of modern comfort, Xizha proximity, and delicious local breakfast.

Wuzhen (乌镇) is a captivating water town, a popular day trip destination for many visiting major Chinese cities like Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou.
When planning an overnight stay in Wuzhen, I looked for a place that met a few key criteria:
✔️ Close proximity to Xizha (West Scenic Zone) ✔️ A blend of traditional charm and modern comfort ✔️ A reasonable price point
WUZHEN Eryou Homestay (乌镇迩釉民宿) checked all these boxes! While it's more of a B&B than a large hotel, my experience was so delightful that I simply had to share it.
Booking through Trip.com proved to be the easiest for my China travels, and I snagged the best rate there. This charming homestay usually costs under ~$64 USD per night, so it's definitely worth checking out.

Eryou Homestay Wuzhen is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk (roughly 0.5 miles) from the entrance to Wuzhen's Xizha (West Scenic Zone).
While staying outside Xizha means you'll need to pay the entrance fee each time you enter, there are definite perks. The homestay itself offers clean, modern accommodations, and its surroundings are bustling with local life.
You'll find late-night restaurants, massage parlors, small convenience stores, and other amenities, providing a more authentic local experience.

Lobby & Check-in
Check-in: 2:00 PM
Check-out: 12:00 PM
No.341 Huanhe Road, Tongxiang, Zhejiang, China

The lobby of Eryou Homestay is just as charming and aesthetically pleasing as it appears in online photos. I'd venture to say it's one of the most beautiful accommodations in Wuzhen!

Upon arrival, the owner greeted me warmly and assisted with check-in, which is available from 2:00 PM. She speaks excellent English, so communication was a breeze!
Breakfast can be added for 20 CNY (approximately ~$3 USD) per person, though my booking included it.

The homestay also offers tea tasting experiences and classes, so if you're interested in traditional Chinese tea culture, it's worth inquiring. The check-in counter itself showcases a beautiful array of diverse tea sets.

Heading up to my room on the third floor.
The owner, a truly strong and kind woman, even carried my heavy luggage all the way up to the top floor – I was incredibly grateful!

After check-in, the owner connected with me on WeChat and sent all essential information via message, including check-out time, Wi-Fi details, breakfast hours, and even a delivery address. She encouraged me to reach out anytime if I needed assistance.
Zhiye Double Bed Room
Room 302

The Zhiye Double Bed Room is located on the top floor, the 3rd floor. The homestay offers various room types at very reasonable prices, so you can choose one that best suits your preferences.
The room is well-equipped with two bottles of water, toiletries, a hairdryer, and a mini-fridge. There's a designated area for shoes near the bathroom, while the main sleeping area is a shoe-free zone.

The coat rack was very useful, and there's a small sofa perfect for relaxing with snacks and watching TV. The bed, while I didn't have high expectations, was surprisingly comfortable, and I slept soundly.
The decor perfectly blends modern aesthetics with a cozy Wuzhen feel. However, if climbing stairs is a concern, I'd recommend choosing a room on a lower floor rather than the Zhiye room!

One quirky detail is the transparent design of the shower and toilet areas, which might be a bit much if you're traveling with someone you're not extremely close with. While a curtain can obscure the shower, there aren't many other dividers, so some coordination might be needed if you're sharing the room.
Also, the toilet's water pressure was a bit low, so that's something to be mindful of.
Next to the bathroom, there's a stylish little bench perfect for changing shoes, even if I didn't use it much, it added to the room's aesthetic!

The TV is a projector screen, primarily featuring Chinese content. Surprisingly, there was a good selection of free Chinese shows. I even found the original 'Journey to the West' and enjoyed a nostalgic watch.

Given the presence of a central courtyard, it's likely this is a traditional building, which makes its transformation into such a stylish and clean homestay even more impressive.
Breakfast
Additional cost: 20 CNY (~$3 USD) per person
Breakfast hours: 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Breakfast is served on the first floor, through this charming, traditionally-styled doorway.
It's available from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. If you stay at Eryou Homestay, whatever you do, don't miss breakfast!
Even if it's not included in your room rate, the price of 20 CNY (approximately ~$3 USD) is incredibly reasonable for such a hearty and delicious meal. Highly recommended!

The presentation itself is beautiful, immediately lifting your spirits, and every single dish is absolutely delicious – a true feast for the senses!

From the delicate detail of osmanthus flowers sprinkled over white congee, to perfectly steamed dim sum, warm bread, savory doujiang (soy milk), sweet dragon fruit, and flavorful pickled vegetables like zhacai and seaweed – not a single bite was anything less than delightful!
Menu items may vary seasonally, but this was the selection during my visit in mid-2026.
Overall Review
✔️ Pros: Ambiance, Location, Price, Friendliness, Cleanliness, Breakfast, Close to Xizha
✔️ Cons: Low water pressure in toilet, Stairs required for top floor, Transparent bathroom/shower, Not inside Xizha Scenic Zone
The advantages of Wuzhen Eryou Homestay far outweigh its minor drawbacks, making it a highly recommended accommodation for your Wuzhen trip!

Ending with the beautiful night views of Wuzhen ~
No, Wuzhen Eryou Homestay is not located inside Xizha. It is about a 10-minute walk from the Xizha entrance. You will need to pay an entrance fee every time you enter Xizha, but there are plenty of local restaurants and convenience stores nearby that stay open late.
Check-in is available from 2:00 PM, and check-out is at 12:00 PM (noon). Upon check-in, you can add the host on WeChat to receive essential information via message, such as Wi-Fi details and delivery addresses.
Breakfast is served on the first floor from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Even if breakfast is not included in your room rate, you can add it for 20 RMB per person, which includes a meal of dim sum, soy milk, and plain rice porridge.
The Ziye Double Bed Room is located on the third and top floor of the building, which means you have to walk up the stairs. Additionally, please note that the bathroom and shower feature a transparent design, and the toilet's water pressure is somewhat weak.
