Wolfgang Puck Vienna Airport Review: Worth the Price?
Looking for a great meal before your flight? Read our review of Wolfgang Puck Kitchen & Bar at Vienna Airport, featuring local dishes and wood-fired pizza.
If you find yourself with extra time at Vienna International Airport (VIE) before your next flight, you might be wondering where to grab a high-quality meal. On a recent trip, after breezing through check-in much faster than expected, I decided to seek out a sit-down dining experience rather than settling for standard fast food.

That search led me straight to the renowned Wolfgang Puck Kitchen & Bar. Known globally for his legendary culinary empire, the Austrian-born celebrity chef has brought a touch of upscale comfort dining right to his home country's main aviation hub.

Located conveniently on Level 0 (just one floor down from the check-in counters), this open-concept restaurant is hard to miss. It offers a lively, modern atmosphere that is perfect for travelers looking to unwind and people-watch before boarding.

A Diverse Menu: From Global Classics to Austrian Favorites
One of the highlights of this spot is the open kitchen design. Watching the chefs prepare fresh dishes in a sparkling clean environment immediately builds confidence in the food quality.

The menu beautifully bridges international favorites with local Austrian specialties. Whether you are craving a standard Italian pasta, a wood-fired pizza, or traditional Austrian comfort food like Schnitzel and Goulash, there is something here for everyone.

Our Dining Experience & Taste Test

To start, we ordered Almdudler, Austria's iconic national soft drink. It is a carbonated herbal soda with a refreshing, slightly apple-like flavor profile. It is not overly sweet and pairs wonderfully with savory meals.
Traveling in a group of five, we decided to order four different dishes to share. The portion sizes were surprisingly generous, leaving all of us completely satisfied.

First up was the Cured Meats Pizza (priced around ~$22). Baked in a high-heat oven, the crust was perfectly blistered, chewy, and flavorful. The savory, slightly salty cured meats on top made this the absolute favorite dish of our table.

Next, we tried the traditional Austrian Beef Goulash. Beautifully plated, it felt like a refined version of the classic home-style stew. The beef was incredibly tender, slow-cooked to perfection in a rich, paprika-infused gravy. If you have already tried Wiener Schnitzel during your trip, this goulash is the perfect final taste of Austria before you fly out.

We also ordered a simple Pomodoro Pasta. While it is a basic Italian classic, the fresh tomato acidity and perfectly al dente pasta proved that this kitchen handles the basics exceptionally well.
The Verdict: Is It Worth It?
Overall, every dish we tried was delicious, and the service was prompt and friendly. While the prices are on the higher side (as expected for any major international airport), the quality of the ingredients and the culinary execution make Wolfgang Puck Kitchen & Bar a worthy splurge during a long layover or before a flight.
