We made sure to book our table ahead of time
before heading to Ribs of Vienna.
When you first arrive at street level, it looks quiet enough to make you wonder
if you're in the right place.
But once you head downstairs, the cellar is absolutely packed!
The staff will greet you at the entrance to check your reservation
before guiding you to your table.

Dining in a historic 15th-century cave cellar was a brand new experience for us,
and the atmosphere felt incredibly cozy and rustic.
While it is immensely popular with international tourists,
we were surprised to see so many local Viennese families dining here too.
That's when we knew we were in for an authentic treat!

Here is a look at the extensive menu and current pricing
sourced directly from their official site.
With so many mouthwatering options, deciding what to order
was easily the hardest part of the night!
Take a close look at the menus below
to plan your feast before you arrive.

We ordered their signature "Ribs of Vienna" platter
along with another variation of their seasoned spare ribs.
We also heard that their fried mushrooms are an absolute must-try,
so we added those to our order as well!

While waiting for our food, we started with a couple of cold, refreshing Austrian beers.

Shortly after, our fried mushrooms (Gebackene Champignons) arrived!
They were coated in a perfectly seasoned, savory batter
and paired beautifully with the house dipping sauce.

They were incredibly crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy on the inside.
To be completely honest, these fried mushrooms were so delicious
that we kept thinking about them even after we finished the main rib courses!
It's a dish we'd love to try recreating at home.
If you visit Ribs of Vienna, make sure to order these
as an appetizer—you won't regret it.

Next up were the star attractions: the classic Ribs of Vienna
and our second rib platter.
The prices are very reasonable, but the portions are absolutely massive!
Compared to the mountain of meat, the side salad felt a bit small.
If you love your greens, we highly recommend ordering
an extra side salad to balance out the rich, savory meat.
The glaze has that perfect, classic sweet-and-savory BBQ flavor.
It's not overly exotic, but rather a crowd-pleasing taste
that almost anyone will love.
It's easy to see why this spot is such a hit with international visitors
seeking hearty, satisfying comfort food.
Our group of four ordered these dishes, and we were so full
that we actually had a few leftovers.
Keep these generous portion sizes in mind
when placing your order!

For our entire meal, the total bill came out to about **$113 USD (approx. €103)**.
For a feast that easily fed four hungry adults, that is an incredible value! :)
While booking a table in advance can be competitive,
they do accommodate walk-ins if you arrive early.
