by taking a ferry from Auckland Harbour.

While ferry tickets can be purchased on-site,

I explored it independently!

I've actually visited Waiheke Island twice during my New Zealand adventures!

So, I'm thrilled to share my top, most satisfying recommendations for must-visit spots with you.

1. Mudbrick Vineyard

This vineyard offered truly the most breathtaking views! Located right at the beginning of Waiheke Island, it's no wonder it's incredibly popular.

Wine tasting is definitely an option, but I decided to enjoy a glass of each instead. It's also one of the wineries that stays open later, so it could be a lovely last stop on your way back!

If you hop on the Explorer Bus, you can get on and off right at the vineyard! Just a heads-up: it stops on the way there, but not on the return journey, which is why we made it our very first stop.

2. Vinovino Restaurant

Now, this isn't technically a winery, but I just had to include it because it's a restaurant boasting an incredible view!

This spot is a true gem with a terrace view overlooking Oneroa Beach! You can even request a table with the best view when you make a reservation, so I definitely recommend booking ahead for the ultimate experience.
