I thought my third trip to Singapore would be in September this year, but a sudden familiarization tour came up, and just like that, I found myself heading back to Singapore in May!
Our accommodation for this trip was Voco Hotel Singapore. Having been so incredibly satisfied with my previous stay there in 2024, I was excited to see if it would be just as good this time around. For anyone currently searching for a great hotel in Singapore, I'm digging into my memories of that last excellent experience to share this review.

Recommended 5-Star Hotel in Singapore
As you enter the main entrance, you're greeted by the lobby, with the front desk conveniently located to the right.

We arrived late at night on an overnight flight, so there was no wait during check-in. However, during peak check-in/check-out times, you might encounter a queue. There are sofas in the lobby, so you can comfortably wait if needed.

Once we had our keys, it was time to head to our room! The elevators to the guest rooms are located behind the front desk.
Room Condition
We stayed in the "Twin Deluxe Club Access Room" for three nights.

The moment I stepped in, the generous size of the room immediately impressed me – a big win for someone particular about room dimensions like myself! 💚

Even with two beds, a side table, a sofa, and a desk, the space felt incredibly roomy. We could both comfortably spread out our luggage and still have plenty of space to move around.

The two beds are placed side-by-side. While they might look a bit small, I found them incredibly comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly throughout our stay, even as someone who is quite sensitive about beds.

To the right of the room entrance is the bathroom, featuring a spacious vanity and a bathtub. The ample space made showering and getting ready each morning incredibly convenient.

The water pressure was excellent, and hot water was readily available. My only minor gripe was that the shower screen on the bathtub was a bit short, leading to a rather wet bathroom floor after showering. It's a small detail, but something to be aware of.
To prevent any slips, I recommend laying down an extra towel on the floor. Safety first!

A full range of amenities is provided, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and lotion. Just a heads-up: some guests find the cucumber scent of the hand wash quite strong. If you're not a fan of cucumber, you might want to bring your own hand soap!
Directly opposite the bathroom is the minibar.

You'll find a variety of snacks and beverages, but unfortunately, all of them come with a price tag.

However, if you've booked a Club room like we did, you'll have access to the Executive Lounge at various times throughout the day. This means you can enjoy a wide selection of complimentary drinks and snacks there, so the paid minibar wasn't really an issue for us. Hehe!

Oh, and don't be surprised if you don't find complimentary bottled water in your room. There's a separate drinking water tap at the bathroom sink where you can fill up your bottles!
Food & Beverage
Beyond its excellent location and spacious, comfortable rooms, another standout feature of Voco Singapore is its top-notch Food & Beverage offerings.

During my last trip, I stayed at a total of four 5-star hotels in Singapore. Voco, despite being the most affordable among them, had F&B that was absolutely on par with the others.

The breakfast, in particular, boasted a diverse buffet spread, and not a single dish was anything less than delicious!

Personally, the prawn noodles from the noodle station were an absolute flavor explosion! It might not be available every day, but if you see it, you absolutely MUST try it!

What's more, the room service menu offers reasonably priced dishes, and they're delicious too! So, if you ever find yourself not wanting to venture out for a meal, ordering in is a fantastic option.

And if you have lounge access like we did, make sure to visit the lounge at different times of the day!

Beyond a simple breakfast, you can enjoy a delightful afternoon tea set in the afternoon. The tea set selection is truly excellent! 💚

In the evenings, they even offer cocktail service, so if you utilize the lounge, you'll rarely find yourself hungry throughout the day! Haha!
Pool
7:00am - 9:00pm
A 5-star hotel simply isn't complete without a swimming pool!

Voco features an outdoor swimming pool on the 24th floor. Given its urban location, it might not boast a breathtaking view or a grand infinity pool like Marina Bay Sands, but it's perfectly fine for a relaxed swim with your companions.

There are also plenty of sunbeds and seating areas around the pool. So, instead of heading out during the hottest part of the afternoon, it would be a great idea to cool off with a swim here.
Affordable Singapore Hotel Recommendation
My final reason for recommending Voco is its exceptional value for a 5-star accommodation.
"~$230 a night and you call that value for money?" some of you might ask. But Singapore is not a cheap country for accommodation.

Most 5-star hotels in Singapore, especially well-known brands, can easily cost upwards of ~$770 per night, with a minimum of ~$310-~$385 as standard.

However, Voco's standard rooms are often available for booking in the ~$230-~$300 range. Considering it's a 5-star property from a well-recognized brand like IHG, I genuinely believe this price offers incredible value.
Of course, if you opt for a room with Club Lounge access, like the one I stayed in, the price will be a bit higher.

But this can help you save significantly on food expenses. So, if your focus is more on enjoying the hotel amenities (a 'ho-cance' or hotel-vacation) rather than dining out, spending a little more on accommodation to reduce external spending isn't a bad strategy.
You can choose the room type that best suits your travel style.
For reference, here are the approximate nightly rates as of 05/22/2026:
| Yeogieottae | HotelsCombined | Agoda |
Price | ~$260 | ~$285 ~ | ~$300 |
Book |
*Prices as of 05/22/2026
When comparing prices including all taxes, Yeogieottae generally offered the lowest nightly rate and often provides additional member benefits.
However, prices can fluctuate during peak season, and Agoda occasionally offers special "Happy Rates." Therefore, I highly recommend comparing prices across different platforms before making your reservation.
Overall Score & Pros/Cons Comparison
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros
✔ Great value for a 5-star accommodation
✔ Excellent location and accessibility
✔ High-quality Food & Beverage options
Cons
✔ Short shower screen in the bathroom causes water to splash
✔ Personally, I missed having complimentary bottled water
If you're looking for a Singapore hotel that offers a good balance of quality and price, Voco Orchard Singapore is an excellent choice. It provides clean room conditions, superb F&B, optimal accessibility, and a reasonable nightly rate.
In fact, I'm known for being quite particular about hotels, and I was completely satisfied during my three-night stay. So, if you're weighing your options for a Singapore hotel, I strongly encourage you to consider Voco Orchard.
