5-Star Hotel Club Lounge Review

When choosing accommodation in Singapore, I believe that how comfortably you can relax inside the hotel is just as important as the location.

Especially since Singapore is hot and humid during the day, there are many times when you just want to return to the hotel for a break in the middle of your itinerary.

The voco Orchard Singapore by IHG, which I used this time, is a 5-star hotel in Singapore, so it was great to experience their pristine club lounge. Being able to enjoy everything from breakfast to afternoon refreshments and all-day beverages made it a perfect spot to take a break during the trip.

Why I Chose voco Orchard Singapore

When you're looking for a hotel in Singapore, it's natural to wonder which area to choose – Marina Bay, Chinatown, Orchard, and so on.

Among them, Orchard is a popular choice even for first-time visitors to Singapore, thanks to its excellent shopping malls, restaurants, cafes, and easy access to public transport.

As a 5-star hotel, voco Orchard has reliable rooms and facilities, but this time I was even more pleased because my room included club lounge access.

When your travel itinerary is packed, a relaxing break with a cup of coffee at the hotel becomes incredibly precious!

What's more, Singapore has a high cost of living, so even just buying coffee, drinks, or snacks outside can add up.

From that perspective, making good use of the club lounge can be a real game-changer for refreshing yourself when you're hot and tired during your trip, right?!

The voco Orchard Club Lounge is located on the 22nd floor.

The interior had a generally quiet and calm atmosphere, with that unique comfort characteristic of a hotel lounge.

The seating wasn't cramped at all, making it great for relaxing alone or for friends to sit at separate tables and chat.

The window seats bathed in sunlight offered the added pleasure of gazing down at Orchard Road from a high floor.

The window tables also had power outlets, making it perfectly feasible to work on a laptop.

It was perfect to use when there was an awkward gap between checkout and my next activity.

I didn't bring my laptop, but I charged my phone and earphones while doing some light work on my phone.

However, the power outlets don't have separate USB ports, so it's essential to bring a multi-adapter.

Club Lounge Operating Hours

This place operates from 7 AM to 9 PM!

Even outside of breakfast and afternoon tea hours, simple cookies, coffee, and drinks were available, so I wasn't really constrained by time.

I used the breakfast buffet on the hotel's first floor, but I also had breakfast at the Club Lounge.

Compared to the first-floor buffet, the variety of food wasn't as extensive, but I loved that I could dine in a much more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, even during busy hours.

If having a wide variety of food at a Singapore hotel breakfast is crucial for you, you might prefer a buffet with more options.

However, I enjoy quietly sipping my coffee and filling up with delicious food without overdoing it, so I was perfectly satisfied with both the buffet and the lounge, each in their own way.

With essential items like bread, fruits, hot dishes, coffee, and other beverages all available,

it was more than enough for this pregnant traveler to get all the necessary protein, carbs, and fats.

There were many egg options in the morning,

which was great for making requests.

For me, it was definitely an omelet!

Afternoon Refreshments Review

While it wasn't the elaborate three-tiered tray style typically associated with afternoon tea,

light snacks were provided to enjoy with coffee or tea.

Even if the food wasn't extraordinary or incredibly varied,

being able to relax in a cool space, enjoy beverages and snacks without paying extra, was an absolute treat for me! 😆

When you're out and about, shopping or exploring the Orchard area,

your energy can quickly dwindle.

Having the Club Lounge meant I could

pop up, recharge for a bit, and then head back out refreshed!

All-Day Access Review

During the hours between breakfast and afternoon tea,

you can enjoy simple cookies, coffee, and other beverages.

I actually quite liked this time slot.

Even if you're not looking to eat a lot,

it was wonderful to simply sit and relax in a cool space,

recharging myself.

Both cold and hot beverages were available,

and they even offered decaf coffee.

Plus, there's a restroom inside the lounge itself,

so I didn't have to step out.

It might seem like a small thing,

but it really made a difference in terms of convenience when I was actually there.

A Little Regret: Missing Evening Cocktails

Unfortunately, my schedule didn't allow me to experience

the evening cocktail hour,

and it's something I still regret missing out on! 😔

According to the hotel's information, during the evening, guests can enjoy

whiskey, beer, wine, mocktails, cocktails, and more,

along with a selection of light bites.

If I hadn't been pregnant,

I would have definitely made time to go and fully indulge!

Available from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM,

it's perfect for a pre-dinner drink before heading out,

or a tranquil moment to unwind before wrapping up your day's adventures.

Club Lounge Access Even After Check-out!

One particular aspect that truly impressed me was

the possibility of still using the Club Lounge

even after checking out!!

When you have a late flight on your last day of travel and your check-out time is a bit awkward,

finding a comfortable place to hang out after checking out can be a real dilemma.

Even if your luggage is stored at the hotel, your body might be tired,

and simply staying in a cafe for hours isn't always ideal.

In situations like these, having access to the hotel lounge means

you can comfortably relax until your next activity or your transfer to the airport.

Please note that this might vary depending on the circumstances,

so it's always best to confirm with the front desk.

When it comes to selecting a 5-star accommodation in Singapore,

Voco Orchard truly stood out. Considering its prime location, the impeccable room condition,

and especially the fantastic usability of its lounge,

it was a highly satisfying choice.

While the Club Lounge isn't overly extravagant or overflowing with an immense variety of dishes,

it's a wonderfully comfortable space to unwind and recharge precisely when you need it most during your travels.

And that, to me, was its greatest strength.

If I have the pleasure of staying at Voco Orchard again,

I absolutely want to make sure I experience

the evening cocktail hour!
