After much deliberation, we decided on Hongcheon for our summer vacation this year.
While looking for accommodation,
I saw that the Vivaldi Park Ocean World package was on discount,
and I knew right away that was it, so I booked it! Haha.
For two adults and two elementary school-aged children, a total of 4 people,
getting accommodation and water park fun for less than ~$207
all in one go was super convenient.
This was our first time visiting Sonobelle Vivaldi Park,
and maybe it's because they're elementary schoolers, but the kids absolutely loved it!
It hasn't even been that long since we got back, but...
they're already singing about going again, lol.
Before booking, I did some research and found that the resort complex is incredibly vast,
and many people get confused by the differences between the buildings and room options.
So, I've put together some insights from our stay at Sonobelle Building B,
focusing on things I wish I'd known before booking.

Here's an important tip!
If you just type 'Sonobelle Vivaldi Park' into your navigation,
it'll lead you to the very entrance of the complex.
The complex is seriously massive,
so you might end up driving a big loop like we did ㅠㅠ.
Make sure to input the parking lot of the building you booked,
which for us was 'Sonobelle Building B Parking Lot'.
Set that as your destination!
It'll drastically cut down the distance you have to carry your luggage.
We stayed from Sunday to Monday, so I thought there wouldn't be much of a line,
but around 3 PM, it started getting crowded.
Luckily, the front desk was super efficient, so we were done quickly.
For your information, bed types (one double vs. two singles) are assigned
on a first-come, first-served basis.
When you're traveling with kids, the bed configuration can be quite important,
so if you have a preferred type,
I recommend checking in a bit early.
Sonobelle A/B/C/D Buildings: Differences at a Glance
Vivaldi Park is so vast that there are many building names,
which can be a bit confusing at first.
You just need to remember three main categories:
Sonobelle, Sono Felice, and Sonopet.
Sonobelle is the main condo building directly connected to the ski resort, Ocean World, and the underground shopping mall (Vivaflex Mall).
What used to be the Pine, Oak, Maple, and Cherry buildings during the old Daemyung Resort days
are now Buildings A through D.
Building A (formerly Pine Building)
primarily offers Ondol (Korean heated floor) rooms, so it's popular with families with young children or large groups.
Building B (formerly Oak Building) and Building C (formerly Maple Building)
are located right in the center of the complex, making them the most convenient for accessing underground facilities and Ocean World.
Building D (formerly Cherry Building)
was built most recently among the Sonobelle buildings,
so many say its room conditions are relatively cleaner.
Sono Felice
is a premium complex situated on a hillside.
It primarily features larger room sizes, making it suitable for big families or those seeking a more relaxed retreat,
but you'll need to take a shuttle or walk a bit downhill to get to Ocean World.
Sonopet
is an exclusive space for guests traveling with pets,
so if you're traveling with your dog,
this is where you should look.
Sonobelle Building B Family Clean Room: An Honest Review
The Sonobelle Building B Family room we stayed in has a studio-style layout.
It's designed for 4 people, but can accommodate up to 6.
Honestly, since it's an older building, I didn't have high expectations,
but it's very well-maintained and clean,
so we had absolutely no discomfort during our stay.
Let me highlight two important things to keep in mind when choosing a room.
First, Cooking vs. Clean (Non-Cooking)
If you plan to cook meals in your room,
or even prepare a meal kit using an induction stovetop, opt for a cooking room.
If you prefer to sleep without cooking smells, eat out, or only prepare microwaveable food,
then a clean (non-cooking) room is better.
Even in cooking rooms, personal grills for meat or portable burners are prohibited!
When I booked, I wasn't planning on cooking at all,
so I went with a clean room (it's also cheaper).
I bought and ate all my meals.
I also picked up some microwaveable snacks from Good&Goods.
The Clean Rooms are located on the 19th and 20th floors,
making them convenient for late check-ins.
And now, Park View vs. Standard (Mountain View).
The Park View offers a stunning panorama of Ocean World and lush green lawns in summer,
and the ski slopes in winter.

Each floor has a microwave and a sofa area.

Beds
We chose a single bed + double bed setup.
It was super clean, and definitely enough space for four people to sleep comfortably.
Typically, it's me, the other ladies, and my husband who share a room like this!
The air conditioner was near the double bed, so that side got cooler than the rest, but...
It was great that there was extra bedding available.
Vanity, toilet paper, hairdryer, drying rack.
Having a drying rack was perfect for drying swimsuits!
Park View
You can even spot the gondolas!
Kitchen Area
Clean Rooms / Sono Calm (hotel-style rooms)
come with two complimentary bottles of water.
(Apparently, cooking-enabled rooms do not include free bottled water.)
There are also basic dishes, a scrub brush, and an electric kettle.
Bathroom
It's small, but perfectly functional for showering,
though the shower spray does tend to splash everywhere. The showerhead placement isn't ideal, haha.
Soap, body wash, and shampoo are provided.
(Toothbrushes and toothpaste are not included.)
Ocean World Flow & Facility Tips!
Eighty percent of this trip's purpose
was the Vivaldi Park Ocean World package,
so the flow and convenience were incredibly important.
Sonobel Wing B is connected to the underground parking tower,
and you can easily move between each wing through the main underground shopping area.
While Wing D is the closest to Ocean World,
walking from Wing B through the underground connecting passage
was still an easy distance, even with kids.
Just a note: when you're done playing in the water, the kids might get chilly, so make sure to pack an outer layer or a towel for everyone!
On the first floor of Building B, you'll find a Korean restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, a food court,
along with favorites like tteokbokki and fried chicken – everything you could want!
So when you're all powered out after splashing around, you won't have to wander far
to grab a satisfying meal right away.
Head down to the underground Vivaldi Plex Mall and
you'll discover a huge supermarket, cafes, entertainment facilities, and plenty of snacks.
It's absolutely perfect for a relaxed evening stroll in your slippers, enjoying some late-night treats.
Even if you happen to forget your swimsuit or a waterproof pouch,
you can pick up everything you need right here within the complex, so no worries at all!
For breakfast, we enjoyed the 'Chefs Kitchen' buffet,
which was part of our package.
The menu was incredibly diverse, and there were so many kid-friendly options,
we were absolutely delighted!

Of course, booking breakfast as part of your accommodation package
is usually the more economical option,
so it's a good idea to pay for it in advance as part of the package.
My Honest Take & Who This Trip is Perfect For
If you're a family traveling with children, and you're looking for a great value trip
that's centered around exciting water activities and super convenient facilities,
then bundling your stay with the Vivaldi Park Ocean World package
is absolutely the best value for your money.
Conversely, if you're dreaming of sophisticated, new-hotel-level interiors
or a serene hotel-cation getaway, then instead of Sonobel,
you might want to explore Sonokam or Sonofelice.
Since the building has a bit of history, the soundproofing can be a little lacking,
and during peak season, elevator wait times can get a bit long.
These are definitely things to keep in mind.
For our family, since we were planning to spend practically all day at Ocean World anyway,
Sonobel Building B was the perfect choice, offering a clean place to sleep
and super easy access to everything.
Booking as a package saved us quite a bit of money compared to making individual reservations,
