While driving near Naksan Beach in Yangyang,

I unexpectedly discovered a vast sunflower field.

It wasn't a place I had planned to visit,

but with so many sunflowers in full bloom,

I simply couldn't drive past it.

There's no separate admission fee,

so if you're already in the area around Naksan Beach,

don't miss the chance to explore this beautiful spot.

Just a 5-Minute Walk from Naksan Beach

The field is less than a 5-minute walk from Naksan Beach.

If you can't find the sunflower field directly on your map app,

it's easy to find by searching for Punggyeong Pension.

I navigated to Naksan Punggyeong Pension, and you can also find it by searching for Doripgongwon Samgeori (Provincial Park Intersection).

Although not extensive, there was parking available.

Since it's not a major paid tourist attraction with a prominently marked entrance,

you might easily miss it if you don't know where to look, so keep an eye out for the signs.

A Hidden Sunflower Field You Might Easily Miss

I visited between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM.

It was midday, so the sunlight was intense, but the clear blue sky and white clouds

made for incredibly beautiful photos. With the mountains visible behind the sunflowers,

it captured a truly quintessential Yangyang landscape.

I loved that there weren't many people, allowing me to take photos at my leisure.

If you're looking for a lesser-known spot to visit in Yangyang, it's definitely worth a stop.

How Long Can You See the Sunflowers?

There isn't a specific end date for the blooming season

or a removal schedule announced for the Naksan sunflower field,

When I visited, many flowers were in full bloom, but

some sunflowers were already starting to droop their heads.

Sunflowers can typically be seen from summer through early fall, so

it's likely they will be visible until mid-September 2026.

Tips for Taking Photos in the Sunflower Field

When I visited around 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM,

the sky appeared vivid in photos, but the strong sunlight

made it challenging to explore for too long.

01. Take Close-up Shots Among the Sunflowers

There are paths within the field where you can walk. Go deeper into the paths and take close-up shots so that the sunflowers frame your face, making the flower field appear much fuller.

02. Lower Your Camera to Capture the Sky

Try positioning your camera low and shooting upwards.

This helps minimize surrounding buildings and power lines,

allowing you to capture the blue sky and sunflowers together.

03. Include the Mountains and Clouds in Your Shot

Frame your shots with the mountains and clouds

visible behind the sunflowers for a stunning backdrop.

If I had only visited Naksan Beach and left,

I would have completely missed this spot.
