Village Hotel Bugis Review: Best Singapore Base?
Looking for the perfect base for your Singapore Disney Cruise? Here's why Village Hotel Bugis is a fantastic choice for location, space, and value.
Village Hotel Bugis by Far East Hospitality

When I booked my Singapore Disney Cruise through KKday,
I stumbled upon an incredible flight + hotel package.
While you can certainly just buy the cruise tickets,
opting for the package scored me a ~$131 flight discount on Scoot
alongside a one-night hotel promotion. It was a no-brainer! ✨
I had four hotels to choose from, and instead of the usual
Orchard Road area, I decided to base myself in the vibrant Bugis district!
Village Hotel Bugis is widely known for its excellent value,
and thanks to its spacious rooms, it comes highly recommended
as a family-friendly stay in Singapore.

Hotel Address: 390 Victoria Street, Singapore
Check-in: 2:00 PM / Check-out: 12:00 PM
(Most hotels in Singapore will allow early check-in if rooms are available—
I managed to check in around noon!)
1. Why I Chose to Stay in the Bugis Neighborhood

I've stayed in various neighborhoods across Singapore,
but Bugis stood out because of its proximity to Marina Bay.
The iconic Sultan Mosque is less than a 5-minute walk away,
making it a fantastic spot for a quiet morning stroll.
Since you'll likely be using Grab to get around Singapore
(honestly, I relied solely on Grab for my entire week-long trip),
staying in Orchard wouldn't be a bad choice either.
However, I loved being just a bit closer to the main waterfront attractions.
Neighborhood | Vibe & Features | Best For |
Bugis | Culture, Street Food, Shopping, MRT Access | First-timers, Foodies |
Orchard | Luxury Malls, High-end Retail | Shopaholics |
2. Village Hotel Bugis Review & Room Tour

The hotel mainly offers Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, and Family Rooms.
All three categories are surprisingly spacious by Singapore standards;
the differences mostly come down to the floor level and room placement.
Priced reasonably between ~$138 and ~$169 per night,
it's a massive hit among travelers looking for a budget-friendly
yet comfortable stay for their first or last night in the city.
It's also the absolute perfect base to bookend your
'Singapore Disney Cruise Adventure'!

Singapore is heavily focused on sustainability,
so many hotels now provide glass pitchers in the rooms
that you can refill at the hallway water dispensers.
I had packed a few bottles of water in my checked luggage
just in case, which was super handy for that first day.

While hotel rooms in Singapore can notoriously feel like shoeboxes,
I've been lucky to find some gems with plenty of breathing room.
Having a larger room means you can actually fully open your suitcases!
It's a huge plus if you're traveling with kids who need space to move around.
There's also a pool and a fitness center available for free,
though I was too busy exploring the city to use them!

I stayed here the night before my Disney Cruise.
I checked out a little early in the morning
and headed over to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
Afterward, I grabbed my bags, ordered a Grab,
and still had plenty of time to reach the Marina Bay Cruise Centre!
(Always double-check your cruise departure terminal!)

Ever since the Singapore Disney Cruise launched,
friends have been non-stop recommending it!
I just got back from my sailing last week,
and before I dive into all my Disney Cruise tips in a future post,
I wanted to highlight the perks of booking a hotel package.
Booking Period: Until 06/30/2026
Travel Period: Until 07/30/2026
So, if you're planning to book a Singapore Disney Cruise
by July 2026, this is a seriously good deal to jump on.
And yes, even if you just book the cruise itself,
KKday offers better rates with their discounts and rewards. They are an official partner!

I've seen people suggest saving money by booking an Inside Stateroom
without windows, but I honestly don't recommend it.
Having experienced it firsthand, even if you don't spend much time
in your room, the lack of natural light feels incredibly claustrophobic.
Even rooms that just have a window but no verandah (balcony)
felt a bit too enclosed for my liking.
While I was walking down the halls participating in Pixie Dusting,
I caught glimpses into rooms while the stateroom hosts were cleaning,
and you could really feel the difference.
Without a balcony, it just didn't feel
like a true cruise vacation to me.
I highly recommend splurging a little on a Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah.
(Keep in mind, even some Concierge rooms don't have windows!)

Taxi rides around the city generally ran me about 8 to 20 SGD.
Since I was spending 4 nights and 5 days on the cruise,
I only had a tight window for city sightseeing before and after.
To save time, I relied heavily on Grab.
It's fast, convenient, and absolutely the way to go!

Village Hotel Bugis: Final Verdict
Location ★★★★★
Cleanliness & Room Size ★★★★
Breakfast ★★★★
Value for Money ★★★★★
Overall, while you can tell the building has a bit of age to it,
it's exceptionally well-maintained and the rooms are huge.
True to its 4-star rating, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming!
With the vibrant Arab Street shopping and walking areas right next door,
if you're hunting for a perfectly located Singapore hotel,
look no further than Village Hotel Bugis!
