If you're planning a trip to Nagoya,
one of your biggest decisions is probably going to be where to stay.
Because where and what kind of accommodation you choose
can completely change the convenience of your entire trip,
I personally think it's the most crucial element of travel planning.
Today, I'm sharing my absolute favorite budget-friendly stay in Nagoya with an unbeatable location:
Vessel Inn Sakae Ekimae.
Here is my honest review and a few tips on how to book it at a discount!
📌 First, let me walk you through the map and explain why I chose
to book Vessel Inn Sakae Ekimae.

Since almost all of Nagoya's famous restaurants and department stores
are concentrated right in Sakae,
there's even a saying that
"if it's not in Sakae, it's not in Nagoya."
As Sakae is truly the beating heart of Nagoya,
finding accommodations nearby is the best strategy
to make the most of your trip as a traveler.
And out of all the options, Vessel Inn Sakae Ekimae
is located just a single block away from Sakae Station,
making its transit accessibility absolutely top-notch.
✅ Plus, the famous Mirai Tower and
the trendy new Chunichi Building are right nearby.
Major attractions like Osu Shopping Street, Nagoya Station, and Nagoya Castle
are also incredibly easy to reach from here.
✅ What's more, the Shirakawa-go day tours from Nagoya
usually gather near Mirai Tower, which meant
I could minimize my morning commute and save precious energy.
Weighing all these factors, I knew I wanted to stay in Sakae,
👉🏻 and eventually went with Vessel Inn, a business hotel chain
known for its consistently high-quality standards.
Next up, here is the essential information
you need to know about Vessel Inn Sakae Ekimae.

📍 Check-in at Vessel Inn Sakae is at 2:00 PM (14:00)

The lobby of the Vessel Inn is on the 2nd floor,
so you'll need to take the elevator up from the ground level.
One of the biggest conveniences I noticed right away
was the 7-Eleven convenience store on the 1st floor.
It's quite spacious and directly connected to the hotel lobby entrance,
making late-night snack runs incredibly easy and safe!

While the lobby isn't massive, it is exceptionally clean
and laid out in a sleek, linear design.
Plus, the staff greeted us warmly every single time we got on or off the elevator,
which made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay.

Check-in is handled self-service style
using the kiosks situated right in front of the counter.
You can easily select your preferred language on the screen,
and the process is as simple as scanning your passport—
making the check-in completely seamless!

Once you finish checking in, you'll get two room keys.
And if you opted for breakfast,
your breakfast tickets will print out right away, too!
Next up, let me show you some of the other
handy facilities inside the hotel!

Tucked away in the lobby is an amenity bar
where you can freely grab whatever you need.
They even have skincare essentials like facial oils and creams,
so you don't have to worry about packing those from home!

Plus, in the dining area near the lobby,
complimentary welcome drinks are served from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
With tea, coffee, and soft drinks available,
it was super nice not having to constantly buy drinks!

You'll also find ice makers, coin laundries,
and vending machines on select guest floors.
Since there's a convenience store right on the 1st floor, you might not use them much,
but they're incredibly handy if you're too tired to head outside
late at night or in the early morning!

I booked a Standard Single Room (which can actually accommodate up to 2 people)
and got assigned a room on the 7th floor.

Since it's a hotel located right in the heart of the city,
the room itself was definitely on the cozier side.
But honestly, considering it's called a 'Single Room,'
I was just grateful that it was spacious enough for two people!
Inside, there was a double-sized bed,
a small table, and a chair.
Plus, there is space under the bed where you can easily
slide in and store a carry-on suitcase.

Right by the head of the bed, there are outlets and USB ports,
so you can charge your phone overnight
without any hassle.

All the standard amenities you’d expect from a Japanese hotel,
like robes, a kettle, and a mini-fridge, were fully provided.
Everything from the room to the overall decor was beautifully clean,
making for an incredibly pleasant and comfortable stay.

As you can see in the photos, the extra space in the room
is just about the perfect size to lay down your suitcase.
Even so, you should still have enough room
to easily open up a 24-inch suitcase.

Moving on to the bathroom—it features a standard layout,
with the toilet, sink, and bathtub compactly and efficiently arranged.

For amenities, they provide two towels per person
and a hairdryer.
Since soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are all provided,
you can leave those out of your packing list!

Although the bathroom wasn't particularly spacious,
having a bathtub meant I could unwind with a warm soak every single night.
Since Nagoya is a bustling city, I did a ton of walking.
Being able to melt away my fatigue in the bath
was definitely one of the biggest perks of staying here.

Today, I introduced Vessel Inn Sakae,
located right in front of Nagoya's Sakae Station.
While the rooms are on the snug side, the clean interiors,
generous amenities, and free welcome drinks made for a fantastic stay.
Plus, the location is absolutely unbeatable!
Best of all, it's highly affordable, making it a hotel
I would definitely choose again on my next trip to Nagoya.
