Uluru 3-Day Tour Review 2026: Australia's Outback Adventure
Dreaming of an unforgettable Australian adventure? Our 3-day, 4-night Uluru tour review covers hidden gems, local insights, and the epic Kings Canyon.
A travel destination you absolutely must visit before you die,
Australia's Uluru‼️
I explored Uluru on a 3-night, 4-day local tour,
an unforgettable journey.
It's a truly memorable and special destination.
If you're looking for natural wonders
and a travel experience unlike any other,
I highly recommend you add it to your bucket list‼️
Oops, I failed at keeping it short, so here's Part 2!
Australia Uluru 3-Night, 4-Day Tour
Uluru tours
typically offer day trips, 2-night/3-day, or 3-night/4-day itineraries.
If you're traveling all that way
and don't just want to dip your toes in,
I recommend the 3-night, 4-day course.
2-Night, 3-Day: Around ~$548
3-Night, 4-Day: Around ~$600 ‼️
While the highlight of all courses
is undoubtedly Uluru's sunrise and sunset,
the inclusion of Kings Canyon seems to be
what adds an extra day to the itinerary.

For those who truly want to immerse themselves in the authentic Outback wilderness,
let's dive into the 3-night, 4-day itinerary!

Endless hiking...

Each vista was stunning, yet it all felt like one magnificent, sprawling landscape...
Our guide, Mark, explained everything so passionately,
but my memory has completely evaporated!

But here's a fascinating point:
A dead sea's ripples
To think this was once a sea...
You can still see traces where water flowed over the rocks,
and the canyon truly lives up to its name!

The Garden of Eden,
a place that felt just like an oasis.
I even spotted someone with a boom mic, as if they were capturing the sounds of this magical place for a film—it was quite cinematic!

Our guide, Mark.
The sisters, Amy and Miranda, were going crazy because of the flies,
but even with flies buzzing in and out of his clothes,
Mark was so cool about it. 😎

A big thank you to Miranda for capturing these wonderful memories!

Thanks a bunch, 22...
It's not like I only ran that far because my body felt heavy.

Throughout the tour,
the bus window gradually filled with unforgettable memories.

The spot we stopped at for a meal featured...
Kangaroo steak and camel burgers... OMG!

They let us try camel riding,
and then they sell camel burgers? That's a bit much,
Australians, you're playing dirty!
😭😭😭😂😂😂

Anyway, the tour also included a camel riding experience!

Uluru Under the Stars (Camping)
Kata Tjuta National Park
Valley of the Winds

Day two kicked off with an early start before dawn!
welcome to Aboriginal land
It was the day we headed to Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park.
We grabbed our tickets and maps,
Kata Tjuta, with its highest peak at 1,069m above sea level,
is not just that single peak.
As part of the national park,
and unlike Uluru, which is a single massive rock,
Kata Tjuta is a collection of 36 interconnected rock formations,
a colossal natural landscape and a true work of art.
The Aboriginal people say that these rocks
remind them of human heads,
and thus named it Kata Tjuta, meaning 'many heads,'
considering it sacred.

My friend, whose clothes got thicker than the day before,
how are you doing?

It's full of giant rock formations!

There were two courses to choose from,
and everyone actually chose the full course?!
Let's promise not to fall behind!

As you gaze at the colossal rock formations,
you'll soon find yourself breathless and panting,
forgetting to count if there are indeed 36 rocks.

Today's Mark
He takes photos like a total pro photographer,
but...
his photography skills are, well, Miranda-level.
When you're traveling overseas and need a photo,
always ask a Korean person to take it!
(Miranda excluded, of course)

Finally, we reached the summit of the Valley of the Winds,
and made sure to capture a group photo!
It was hot and exhausting, but oh so worth it!
The wind at the summit filled me with such joy,
and in that moment, I truly understood
why I embark on these challenging journeys.

They explained things about each part of the course along the way, but...
....
I guess saying 'ooh' and 'aah' at the time was all that mattered.

We arrived at the Aboriginal Cultural Centre,
but it's a no-photography zone there,
so no photos, unfortunately! ^^;
Finally, we stood before Uluru!
Uluru, the belly button of the Earth, the center of the world.
Its sheer size is almost impossible to grasp,
a truly colossal rock.
Even then, just standing in front of it,
I was filled with such awe that I got goosebumps all over my body.
Or perhaps, knowing it was a sacred area,
amplified that feeling?
Sadly, many fatalities occurred among those who used to climb Uluru,
so ascending it is now prohibited.
Nevertheless, I hear that many Japanese tourists who watched the movie
'Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World' still try to attempt it! ^^;

This rock is carved out at the bottom, looking like a mushroom.
I got to indirectly learn about the Indigenous culture of the time
through their markings,
but of course, I've forgotten the details of the explanation again...
Anyone who's been on the tour recently, care to enlighten me?

A naturally formed
wooden chair.

Uluru's Sunrise and Sunset

Oh, if only I'd had a Galaxy Ultra back then, these shots would've been epic...
The color of the rock changes with the movement of the sun,
and it was truly a magnificent spectacle.

Leaving behind 'LOVE'...

An attempt to hold Uluru in my hand.
Why does my face look so grimy and worn out, haha...

And just like that, the last day arrived...
At first, I was so weary, wishing for it to end,
but as time passed, every bit of exhaustion and every challenge
transformed into something truly wonderful.

Our tour wrapped up in Alice Springs〰️
Some friends had flights right after the tour ended,
so here's a commemorative shot with those of us who stayed behind!
Uluru Tour: Pros, Cons, and Review
✅ Let's start with the downsides:
It's tough.
Swag camping, a far cry from a luxurious resort stay,
and wilderness living where you might have to slightly overlook some hygiene standards.
Requires a lot of time (at least 2-3 days).
It can be cold in winter.
✅ Despite all that,
Why do I still recommend the Uluru tour?
It's a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The sheer wonder of nature.
You even get to truly appreciate the comforts of civilization, haha!
Though it's endless trekking,
it makes you truly understand why people embark on challenging pilgrimages like the Camino de Santiago.
It's a deep, profound emotion that triumphs over all the hardship, cold, and discomfort.
The emotion I felt at the summit of the Valley of the Winds and
the goosebumps that swept over my entire body while gazing at Uluru...
I still can't forget that feeling!
You'll also connect with so many incredible people from diverse backgrounds!
If someone asks me, "Would you go to Uluru again?"
I'd seriously have to ponder if I could tackle it again,
but if you're wondering whether to go or not,
I would absolutely recommend going at least once!
