When I was choosing accommodation for my Fukuoka trip,

the most important factors for me were, of course, location and price.

I was looking for a room that wasn't too small, yet convenient for sightseeing,

and the place I chose was Tokyu Stay Fukuoka Tenjin!

Having stayed there myself, I found the location excellent,

and the room size was more spacious than I expected, which made me very happy.

So, I wanted to share my review with all of you!

I specifically looked for accommodation in the Tenjin area.

It's super convenient for shopping and exploring delicious eateries,

plus it's a great base for moving around to other areas~!

Tokyu Stay is just about a 5-minute walk from Tenjin Station,

making it incredibly easy to get around.

Another key factor for choosing a great value accommodation in Fukuoka Tenjin was

finding a place with an excellent location that also offered rooms that weren't too cramped!

The rooms are 18㎡ (194 sq ft) or larger, which for a Japanese hotel,

is actually quite spacious and comfortable.

2. Fukuoka Tenjin: My Top Pick for a Value Hotel

Check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM!

I booked through Trip.com,

and paid around ~$68 per night at the time.

Typically, the average price is around ~$73 to ~$109 per night,

but on weekends or during peak season, it can go up to around ~$146!

For hotels in Japan, it's definitely true that the earlier you book,

the more affordable it tends to be. So, if your travel dates are set,

3. My Top Fukuoka Tenjin Hotel Recommendation

I booked a Double Room.

After checking in and grabbing the necessary amenities, I headed up to my room.

As soon as I stepped inside, I was delighted to find it much more spacious than I expected!

Japanese hotels often have smaller rooms,

and there are even places where it's difficult to move around once you've opened a single suitcase.

But here, there was plenty of space, even with my suitcase laid open!

There's a table and chairs by the window,

and thanks to the large windows, the room felt a bit more spacious and brighter.

Being on a higher floor, the view wasn't bad either!

Above all, one of the biggest reasons I chose Tokyu Stay

was definitely the in-room washing machine and kitchenette.

There's a mini-fridge, electric kettle, microwave, and induction cooktop,

and with a washing machine right in the room, it was great that I didn't have to go looking for a separate laundry room

when I needed to do laundry

during my trip.

So personally, I felt that it would be great not just for one or two-day trips,

but also for longer itineraries.

It would be especially convenient for those who find moving accommodations frequently a hassle!

The bathroom has a bathtub, so it was perfect for unwinding in warm water

after a day of exploring, and basic amenities were also provided.

Free Wi-Fi is available,

and breakfast costs 1,870 yen if added.

Towel and gown changes & trash collection can also be requested daily!!!

Overall, rather than being an incredibly luxurious hotel,

it felt like a practical hotel well-equipped with everything you actually need

while traveling.

4. Fukuoka Tenjin Accommodation: My Honest Review (Paid for by Me)

Around Tenjin, there are plenty of shopping spots, great restaurants, and cafes,

making it easy to get around with the accommodation as my base.

In the evening, I spent time exploring the nearby plazas and markets.

On the way back, I picked up some delicious treats from the convenience store

and enjoyed them as a late-night snack at the hotel to round off the day!

Coming back to the accommodation after a day of exploring and relaxing comfortably

was actually more wonderful than I expected.

To sum it up based on my personal stay:

If you prioritize location, room size, price, and in-room amenities,

Tokyu Stay is a pretty excellent choice!!!

Especially if it's close to Tenjin Station and you can snag it as a recommended Fukuoka accommodation

at an early ~$70 price point for a value-for-money hotel,

your satisfaction will likely be even higher.
