01. Eastar Jet Check-in and Departure Experience
Arriving at Incheon Airport Terminal 1, I made my way to the Eastar Jet counter. The queue was surprisingly short, making for a relaxed and efficient check-in process.

Clutching my paper boarding pass, marked with a red circle, the excitement for my Tokushima adventure truly began to set in.

My flight was ZE671. At the gate, I confirmed our destination and the local temperature of ~82°F on the blue monitor, then watched the plane through the window as I waited to board.
Unlike some low-cost carriers (LCCs) where you might endure a bus transfer, we boarded directly via a jet bridge, making for a smooth start to the journey. I hadn't set high expectations for a flight booked with an Eastar Jet special fare, but witnessing their strict adherence to the boarding schedule and punctual departure left a positive impression.
02. In-flight Comfort and Unique Meal Options
The first thing I checked after settling into my seat was the legroom. On this B737-800 aircraft, I'll be honest, the knee space with the seat in front wasn't exactly generous.

Taller passengers might find it a bit cramped, but for an average adult woman, my knees didn't touch the seat in front, so it wasn't a major discomfort for a short flight.

While browsing the information leaflet in the seat pocket, a particular inflight meal caught my eye. It was a special collaborative Tokushima Ramen cup noodle, available at a promotional price. It certainly piqued my curiosity! However, the flight time was quite short, so I didn't get a chance to try it.

Despite the compact seating, the smooth journey from takeoff to a perfectly on-time landing left me impressed with Eastar Jet's reliability. I would definitely consider flying with them again based on this positive experience.
03. Charming Tokushima Awa Odori Airport Arrival Hall
As I disembarked and headed towards baggage claim, my attention was immediately drawn to the adorable local mascot dolls rotating alongside luggage on the curved conveyor belt. It turned what could have been a mundane wait into a delightful experience!

Posters for the Awa Odori festival, a famous local celebration, adorned the walls, perfectly setting the mood for arriving in a charming Japanese regional city. The airport is even officially named 'Tokushima Awa Odori Airport,' reflecting its compact yet characterful design.

After a quick immigration process, I emerged into the 1st-floor arrival lobby, where clear transportation guidance monitors were available for international visitors. Notably, there were pamphlets for a special 2-day free bus pass exclusively for Korean travelers. There's also a small but functional ATM, which I found very useful for withdrawing cash before heading into the city.
The airport typically operates from 06:15 AM to 09:30 PM. Its excellent accessibility to major tourist attractions like the Naruto Strait and the Awa Odori Hall makes planning your itinerary incredibly convenient.

If you're traveling as a family from Tokushima Airport to the city, considering a limousine service for a comfortable ride might be a great option. For four people, it costs around ~$51.
