Discover Tokatoka Resort Nadi, Fiji's hidden gem for airport stays. Enjoy a free shuttle, comfortable rooms, and a large pool, all at an unbeatable price. Plan your perfect Fiji trip!

For the final leg of our South Pacific honeymoon in Fiji,
we stayed at the lovely Tokatoka Resort.
Taxi fares in Fiji can get pretty pricey,
and since we had to catch an early 9:00 AM flight on our final morning,
we decided to book a hotel right next to the airport.
Tokatoka Resort offers free airport pickup and drop-off shuttle services,
making it incredibly budget-friendly and convenient.
Plus, they have a surprisingly large swimming pool, which made it the perfect place to wrap up our trip!
In this post, I’ll share my honest review of Tokatoka Resort, the airport shuttle details,
and some handy hotel discount codes you can use for your own global adventures!

1. Room Rates + Discount Codes
To start off, I booked Tokatoka Resort for two nights for about ~$154.
Compared to other 5-star resorts that cost around ~$1,024 or ~$896 for two nights,
or 4-star options going for ~$256 for a two-night stay,
this was an insanely budget-friendly deal.

Here is a quick price comparison across popular hotel booking platforms
for a one-night stay in November:
Booking.com | MyRealTrip | Trip.com | Agoda |
~$114 | ~$106 | ~$101 | ~$99 |
Looking at the rates for the same date, Agoda offers the lowest base price.
However, Trip.com has an exclusive
3% discount code. Once you apply the coupon,
the final price actually drops below Agoda's!

2. The Room

All four resorts I stayed at in Fiji featured semi-outdoor open-air lobbies,
and Tokatoka Resort was no exception.
The Gateway Hotel (another highly popular airport hotel) is located right next door,
so our taxi driver got them momentarily confused.
If you’re taking a taxi to check-in, make sure to double-check and emphasize
"Tokatoka, not Gateway" just in case!

The room itself has a very simple, "back to basics" feel,
but it is surprisingly spacious for a standard room.
We had no trouble fully opening our 30-inch, 24-inch,
and 16-inch carry-on suitcases all at the same time.
Right opposite the bed, there’s a TV and some shelving space.

And here’s one little detail I absolutely loved about Tokatoka Resort!
As you can see on the left side of the photo, there is a mirror right in front of the desk,
which made getting ready in the morning so much easier.
Usually, vanity areas in hotels have poor lighting,
but if you open the blinds here, you get gorgeous natural light—
perfect for doing your makeup!
Plus, there's a full-length mirror on the right,
which is great for doing a quick outfit check before heading out.

There were teacups, glasses, teaspoons, and tea bags provided,
but they looked quite old and neglected.
The tea bags even had a thin layer of dust on them.
There is also a small mini-fridge, which was empty when we arrived.
The water and juice bottles you see inside are things we bought ourselves!

In the small hallway leading from the entryway to the room, there's a closet,
and inside, you'll find an iron, ironing board, and a safety deposit box.
To be honest, I rarely use an iron when I travel,
so I've never really checked for one in other hotels.
But it seems even 3-star hotels usually have them ready to go.

The bathroom has a separate shower booth,
though it doesn't have a solid door—just a shower curtain to pull across.
For amenities, they provide shampoo, body wash, body lotion, and conditioner.

The hairdryer is fixed to the bathroom wall,
which means if your travel partner is using the bathroom, you'll have to wait to dry your hair...
The towel situation was a bit sparse compared to other hotels or resorts.
There was 1 bath towel, 2 hand towels,
and a separate bath mat placed right in front of the bathroom door.

Another great perk of Tokatoka Resort, this airport hotel in Fiji!
The terrace gets absolutely gorgeous sunlight,
making it perfect for drying wet clothes.
Since staying here was the final leg of our trip,
we had to pack our suitcases to fly back home.
Thanks to Fiji's intense sun and the warm breeze from the AC unit,
our soggy swimsuits dried up in no time.

One thing to look out for, though, is that the water quality isn't the best.
We had already been using this shower filter before arriving at Tokatoka,
so it was already a little yellowed...
but after just one shower here, it turned into a deep brown, almost black color.
We were honestly so shocked!
3. Airport Pickup & Drop-off Service

You'll need to book your airport shuttle in advance at the lobby.
The best part is, you don't have to pay
any extra fee for the airport transfer!
Taxi fares can really add up when traveling around Fiji,
so having this free airport drop-off service was incredibly convenient.
The shuttle runs every 20 to 30 minutes.

When we left, there were three groups sharing the ride,
and the seats were wrapped in plastic covers,
which made everything feel super clean and hygienic.
It takes less than 5 minutes to reach the airport,
and since the airport is quite small and it was early,
check-in only took about 25 minutes.

4. The Swimming Pool

I absolutely loved the pool at Tokatoka Resort!
For a hotel that costs around ~$77 a night, the pool is surprisingly spacious,
and they even have a great playground area for kids.
With a maximum depth of about 1.7m (around 5.5 feet), it was perfect for a proper swim.

Along with the kids' playground, there's also a water slide!
It's not massive,
but the slope must have been designed perfectly because it was incredibly thrilling.
It shoots you down so fast, and since there was no line,
we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves!

The shuttle to the airport must be booked in advance at the lobby and is available free of charge. It runs every 20 to 30 minutes, and the ride from the resort to the airport takes less than 5 minutes.
The water quality in the rooms is not very good, so we recommend bringing a personal shower filter. The water quality is poor enough that during an actual stay, the filter turns a dark brown, almost black, after a shower.
The pool has a maximum depth of 1.7m, making it deep enough for adults to swim, and it also features a playground area that is great for kids. Additionally, there is a fast and thrilling water slide that you can ride right away without waiting in line.
The Gateway Hotel, a famous airport hotel, is located right next to the resort, so taxi drivers might get confused. Therefore, it is highly recommended to clearly state once again upon boarding that your destination is Tokatoka Resort, not Gateway.
