Taipei Yes-Poh-Ji Tour: A Taiwan Bus Tour
For famous Taiwanese attractions like Jiufen and Yehliu,
it can be quite challenging to visit them independently.
That's why opting for a Taiwan bus tour is a fantastic idea!
Covering four incredible spots: Yehliu, Shifen, Shifen Waterfall, and Jiufen,
you can embark on this Taiwan adventure for around ~$7.
Let me introduce you to the Yes-Poh-Ji bus tour!!
1. The Bus Tour

There are five amazing destinations you can visit on a bus tour.
• Yehliu, Shifen, Shifen Waterfall, Jinguashi, Jiufen •
Among these, Yehliu, Shifen, and Jiufen are must-visit attractions included in all tours, while whether you visit Shifen Waterfall or Jinguashi
determines the tour's name and itinerary.
But no matter which tour you choose, consider it a full day dedicated to your Taiwan travel adventure!
Type | Itinerary |
Yes-Ji | Yehliu + Shifen + Jiufen |
Yes-Poh-Ji | Yehliu + Shifen + Waterfall + Jiufen |
Yes-Jin-Ji | Yehliu + Shifen + Jinguashi + Jiufen |
Yes-Poh-Jin-Ji | Yehliu + Shifen + Waterfall + Jinguashi + Jiufen |

If you're eager to explore a wide variety of places, the Yes-Poh-Jin-Ji tour might seem appealing, but with so many attractions, the time spent at each spot is quite short.
You might feel like you're just skimming the surface, rushing through each location,
which could leave you wishing you had more time to truly experience them.
/
On the other hand, the Yes-Ji tour only covers three places, meaning either longer stays at each spot or a later meeting time.
Considering you're dedicating almost an entire day of your Taiwan travel itinerary to a bus tour,
seeing just three places might feel a *tiny* bit disappointing 🥲

For Taiwan bus tours like Yes-Poh-Ji and Yes-Jin-Ji,
which cover four attractions,
you essentially decide between waterfalls or gold.
• Shifen Waterfall: Taiwan's largest waterfall, offering a refreshing escape and a chance to discover some incredible local sausages.
• Jinguashi: A former booming gold mining town, home to the Gold Museum, picturesque rural scenery, and delicious miner's bento boxes.
Many reviews for bus tour products mentioned that people went to the waterfall without high expectations,
but it turned out to be the highlight of their Taiwan travel itinerary.
Inspired by these glowing reviews, I chose the Yes-Poh-Ji tour myself.
And the verdict? Just as the reviews said, the waterfall was incredibly impressive..✨
✍️ Here's the review that totally convinced me...
2. The Yes-Poh-Ji Bus Tour

Meeting points are either Ximen Station or Taipei Main Station.
You can wait at whichever is more convenient for you,
but keep in mind that the tour picks up from Ximen Station first, so if you board at Taipei Main Station,
your preferred seats might already be taken!
Once you choose your seat, it's yours for the entire day.
To ensure a comfortable day on your Taiwan travel itinerary,
if you have a specific seat in mind or want to sit with your companions,
I highly recommend boarding at the first stop, Ximen Station.

The first stop on the Taiwan Yes-Poh-Ji bus tour is Yehliu,
a fascinating place where unique rock formations, sculpted by waves and weathering over time,
are spread across three distinct zones.
You'll find incredible sights like Mushroom Rocks, Honeycomb Rocks, Candlestick Rocks, Princess' Head, and many more.
The rocks come in all sorts of shapes,
so it's fun to guess what each one looks like.

The most famous rock in Yehliu is the Queen's Head Rock, but
I actually found this Camel Rock even more amazing, haha!
How can it even have perfectly shaped eyes...?

Shifen Waterfall was one of the most impressive attractions on my entire Taiwan itinerary,
and apparently, it's even called 'Taiwan's Niagara Falls'.
The sound of the waterfall is incredibly refreshing, and the spray often creates
beautiful rainbows.
The surrounding scenery is also stunning, and I just zoned out for a long time, listening to the falls.
Even with the water splashing, it was so healing that I didn't want to leave, haha!

If you visit Shifen Waterfall, you absolutely have to try the sausage there.
And a great thing about taking the Taiwan YESFOGI bus tour is that
you don't have to wait in line to buy the sausage.
While you're admiring the waterfall, the guide buys all the sausages
and hands them out, so you can enjoy them quickly without any waiting! :)

Shifen reminded me of a scene right out of the movie Tangled (Rapunzel),
and I think it might have been the most romantic spot on my entire Taiwan travel itinerary.
You write your wishes on a sky lantern and release it into the heavens.
When the sun sets, the sky lanterns glow red in the sky,
and I got to see a view in Shifen that was even more beautiful than the sunset
I saw from the Taipei 101 observatory.

Depending on the color, you write your wishes related to health, wealth, business, or love
and send them up. I wrote '1st prize in the lottery' in the wealth section, but unfortunately,
I still haven't won the lottery's top prize yet 🤔

The final stop on the bus tour is Jiufen.
Jiufen is most beautiful when the red lanterns are lit, which is why
it's usually scheduled as the last stop on the itinerary!
Jiufen is so famous that many tourists dedicate an entire day of their Taiwan trip just to visit it.
It has an atmosphere similar to the movie Spirited Away, so it seems many fans of the film also come to visit.

It was incredibly crowded, almost like 'Hell-fen' (a playful nickname given to Jiufen because of the immense crowds), but
even so, every single alley was so beautiful that I explored tirelessly,
and I thoroughly enjoyed Jiufen, browsing cute merchandise and souvenir shops! :)

I think the day I took the bus tour was the most fulfilling day of my Taiwan trip itinerary.
With the YESFOGI bus tour, I got to visit three incredibly impressive attractions, and to experience such a trip
for such an affordable price, in the low ~$7 range, is truly amazing!
I highly recommend the YESFOGI bus tour; it's something I'd love to include again
on my next Taiwan trip itinerary.
